I had the chance to live at the brand new Kendrick Place as a founding resident from Sep-May…read more Pros: This is the best place to live in Amherst for students/professionals who want upscale apartments that are not owned by UMass. You can read about the amenities online. The staff is incredibly helpful and I got to know them on a first name basis (Bryon, Pamela, Tanya). The location is damned convenient for off campus. I'd almost consider them on campus. Is it pricey? Not if compared to similar housing. A lot of students struggle with comparing the north apartments price to the 1000/month lease price. It should work out to be cheaper, not to mention nicer. Comparing it to puffton is not a valid comparison. If you want the cheapest place, look elsewhere. Cons: To address the zero star review: the apartment was 99% ready when we moved in. The staff had to rush to get it ready for the school year. There were some minor issues with paint and the washer starting out. Despite the heavily advertised fast internet, I had wifi issues thoughtout the year. WIFI has been fixed in May, as I understand. I didn't deduct a star for this because the staff were so helpful and accommodating if any issues came up. Often gave us a gift card if a building issue occurred (these were minor). They seriously aim to please. Summary: Don't just take my word for it, check out the place or their sister building Olympia Pl. If you are looking for competitively priced upscale housing, this is the place.

We brought our son home rather than let him shelter in place since we knew the building would not care about cleaning door handles, elevator buttons, etc. Their definition of luxury - a kitchen exhaust fan that directs cooking fumes straight back into the kitchen. The cabinets above the fan become coated in grease in the first month. Their definition of service; drapes were left partially installed for days, boxes left on the floor when we moved our son in - it took multiple emails to get this resolved. WiFi - intermittent and poor - our son exploded his data plan because the building WiFi was too slow and weak for him to download class projects. Their rents are extortion - we expected a lot more for what we paid.

Mill Valley has been a nice place to live. There is a nice mix of families and students, with no…read morereal noise complaints. Maintenance is quick to respond to issues, and the rental office does a great job giving information both digitally and via notices placed in the doors every week or so. The addition of the Amazon Hub has been nice, as I am no longer worried about the security of my packages. The complex sits just down a street from a bus stop and electric rideshare bikes, making it convenient to get around town. The gym is great for its size, and usually not too busy. Having the heat paid for in the rent makes this place a great value.

Grounds covered in cigarette butts (suppose to be no smoking in the building and with 40 ft). Management is rude and lacks empathy. They can fine you for not breaking down your boxes but cannot manage to see who hit your car or who is smoking on the cameras. Way over priced for the space. Really the worst place I have ever rented. Kids pulling fire alarms, damaging cars, property, and their language is horrible and they are not even teens, yet. Sarah Warren the manager for 17 years just left so maybe they would get someone with proper management who can communicate properly.
