The lowest premiums and the best service!…read more Several years ago, I decided it was time to check around to see if we could get lower rates on our homeowners and auto insurance. I contacted two independent agents and one brand-name insurance company. I was shocked at the price range for the same coverage. Jason Brofford at Detweiller-Brofford Insurance checked with different companies to get us the best deal, and the insurance he found for us was $1000 cheaper. We accepted pretty quickly! Every year when it's time to renew, Jason again looks around to find us the lowest price for coverage. This year, our policies are with Erie Insurance, top-rated for homeowners Insurance in the August 2017 issue of Consumer Reports magazine. In addition to saving us money big time, we've been happy with Detweiller's customer service. Emails are answered promptly and a human being picks up the phone. Jason, Zach -- everyone in the office -- is professional and super nice.

Worst insurance agent I've ever came across, a year ago in July started my policy paid my down…read morepayment , immediately noticed I was being charged $40 more a month then I was told, I have had a few issues but what takes the cake???? In sept I email Anthony asking could he add my daughter and her car today On Friday, the day I emailed he said yes gave me a quote, did not respond back Wednesday I Emailed again he told me she was under 21 he couldn't add her, at that point I already knew that because when he stopped responding I called Berkshire myself and was told that, October bought a new truck asked how much to add it? Was there a down payment? No it will just be its monthly amount added to your draft, so when I see the insurance draft was almost $500 I stead of $196 I disputed it and started emailing Anthony ask what is going on, I'm out of the office I'll call you tomorrow, 3 days later I'm reaching out again he calls says aww well you added 2 new vehicles ? No I did not I added 1 my daughter and (HER) car could not be added, I'll I'll updated that and get it to you, 100 emails later he send my updated policy cancellation is what he sent me for non payment , so I was supposed to give them $500 wait on Anthony to do his job and what do the credit my account? I think not I told him I disputed it and needed the correct amount to pay it. Aww let me not forget this past July they drafted me an extra $600 I immediately reach out to Anthony he said aw that's your down payment and I emailed before hand, which he did not. Down payment???? I paid that last year well to renew your policy you have to pay again. I am going to take him to small claims court because the fat that I paid 2 down payments on top of monthly , I know have to go pay another down payment to start a new policy, seems t me I'm paying for his mistakes , I think not. He have day after day to fix this and blew me off . Worst customer service I've ever had. I'll attach emails if it lets me. He just emailed and said I need to pay $444 to keep my policy and $383 a month ? My insurance was $196 a month I added a vehicle for $66 more a month but now I have to pay $383 a month and another down payment, even after I was told I don't have to.

f I could give zero stars I would. Dealing with Matic has been difficult and frustrating…read more The sales agent that we worked with, Andre, had no attention to detail and did not return calls. It seems he's only interested in writing a policy to get his quota or commission and doesn't care if he makes mistakes or even finalizes a policy. He made basic mistakes and instead of correcting them he placed the burden on us to get them fixed. On our homeowners policy he put the wrong name for the second owner. He said he could not fix that and we'd have to work with customer service to get it corrected. That took many phone calls and much back and forth paperwork. On our auto policy, he again made a mistake on the name and we had to work with the insurance company directly to get that fixed. On our umbrella policy (which, after a month, we have not been able to finalize) he told us the policy was in underwriting and he'd get back to us "tomorrow"; after that he said customer service was working with underwriting to get the policy finished. It turns out 1) we needed to provide more information that we were never asked for and 2) customer service was doing nothing. After speaking to customer service we were told the agent would have to finalize the policy....but, of course, the agent does not return phone calls. I did ask to work with another agent and customer service took my number and said they would call me when an agent was available to speak with me. When customer service called, they told me I could be place in the queue and it would be a 25 minute wait. But what happened to "we'll call you when an agent is available". I asked twice to speak with a manager and was assured that someone would call me -- in fact I was told my request would be expedited. After 3-4 days I have not heard from anyone. Dealing with this company was way more work that it should have been and I will never use them again. I advise anyone looking for insurance to avoid this company.

I rarely write reviews, good or bad, but I rarely receive the kind of experience that I did working…read morewith Nathan and since there were no other reviews I felt people should have a heads up. I've worked with Nathan for the past two years, he handled my taxes in 2019 and 2020 as well as my PPP Loan Application. Taxes: I never felt the benefit of working with Nathan versus using Quickbooks/Intuit which I use for my business. After talking with a few local agents (I'm in the Washington D.C. metro - not exactly the cheapest area) I learned that they were paying their local tax person significantly less to handle their taxes despite the fact that they had earned more and had more complicated financial situations. While I don't remember for 2019, in 2020 Quickbooks estimated my taxes to be almost identical to what Nathan found - but of course, filing with Quickbooks would've been much cheaper and easier. PPP Loan: This is where things really fell apart. It wasn't until just before the 4th and final round of the PPP Loan that I realized my business was eligible to receive the loan. However, I was hesitant to move forward given the cost of Nathan's service to file the paperwork ($1,200) and the uncertainty that I would be approved or what the amount would be. Nathan assured me that the amount I would be eligible for far exceeded the cost and that he would not only assist with filing the loan but the forgiveness as well - and that the cost of his service was a split payment with half due to get started and the second half later. Like with my taxes before, I was slow in getting the paperwork to him, but he assured me that everything had still been delivered to him in time. I wasn't approved for the loan, I believe due to time expiring, but I don't fault Nathan for the fact that I was not approved - I want to be clear about that. What I do blame Nathan for, is this: 1. I was charged the full $1,200 upfront despite him telling me otherwise. When I asked about this I was told he had just changed payment systems and it was an error, but that I would've had to pay it anyway later on so too bad. 2. The amount of communication I received immediately after he had billed me $1,200 for the loan became almost non-existent. I had to reach out to him multiple times on several occasions before receiving any sort of response. I eventually requested a PARTIAL refund for the PPP Loan service I had paid for. I was told $600 upfront, and $600 later. I said I had no problem paying the $600 for filing the loan but that I had a problem being fully billed when that was not what I had been told, and that the entire service was not completed and could not be completed - there's no way to provide the forgiveness assistance portion of the service when the loan was never received. With all of this happening through email, Nathan finally scheduled a time for us to talk by phone... 3. Shortly before the time we were supposed to talk on the phone, he asked to reschedule because his wife wasn't feeling well. I agreed and asked when would be a good time (all still through email) and he told me Tuesday morning (it was a Thursday or Friday). Finally, on Wednesday evening I sent him an email saying how unhappy I was that I STILL had never received a call from him. --- My Main Point Is This: --- By this point, between taxes and PPP Loan services, I had paid Nathan over $2,000 for his services over the past 2 years yet there is zero feeling that I am a client Nathan cares at all about - he can't even pick up the phone to call me. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration by working with someone, anyone, else.
