Alexandra Anderson - State Farm Insurance Agent

I had no say in that decision and was first fine with the change, but after having my first initial call with her husband Harold he gave used car salesman vibes. He was comparing insurance increases to $10 boxes of cereals and the price increases. When I mentioned, I wanted to change to liability only since my car was over 15 years old, he resisted and pushed back and tried to "sell me" on why I should keep it. The car is old and not worth much. He then said we could look at the mileage to see if that's up to date and can be reduced but then gaslighted me into saying "that they have ways of checking" I don't drive very much and during the time I had them as my provider I told him I was working from home so my mileage can be lowered since I barely drive. After 2 more calls with him and I still didn't get good customer service. I had asked to speak to his wife Alexandra, but he said she only sets appointments for clients that purchase other services like life insurance etc. He made it seem my account was "too small" While I had great experience with Nardy (who no longer works there) Harold was not great to work with. Since his wife owns the business, they seem reluctant to help customers unless it's an increase in billing or new services. There was a lot of push back from him to work with me to see what they could do. State farm agents get 10% of each customers monthly billing so it just seemed like he didn't have customer's best interest and his sales tactics were really off putting to me. I never had any issues with any other insurance agent except this one. When I changed agents, he left me a voicemail afterwards. No I don't want to have a call to discuss. So here's my feedback in my review. Please do better for your customers. Customers can sense when you're thinking only about the profits. It shows up in tone, interactions, and "strong negative sales vibes" I would've stayed with them if I didn't have multiple negative phone interactions with her husband Harold. Working with your state farm agent shouldn't be as stressful as my experience.

Let's be real. Insurance companies are crooked. My car is getting older every year yet my…read moreinsurance rates are climbing every year despite my excellent driving record. Home insurance is no different. It's required for everyone who possesses a loan yet if you live in a fire zone, you are considered "high risk" and will be expensive, if you can find it. Now if you live in CA, every area is a fire zone. I bet you they even consider Alcatraz a risk bc there are trees on the island. This year I finally decided to put my foot down and look for another company for my Homeowner's bc of the annual price hikes. I called Richard and got a really attractive quote but there were some conditions: 1) I need to install a Moen water flow monitoring device 2) I need to have a gas shutoff device and 3) Need to have an alarm system active which was not disclosed to me when the quote was provided. I felt this was a bit shady since this spending adds ~$600 to the amount I'm trying to save. The Moen monitoring device is not cheap. Since I have a 1 1/2" inlet water feed, I needed to buy the largest one Moen makes which is $500-600 on Amazon. I called around and some plumbers will sell them to you but of course they upcharge you so you're better off buying it yourself and hiring a plumber to install it. For complete transparency this total cost can set you back $2500-$3500 installed. All this device does is monitor your water flow and can shut off the water in case there's a pipe burst. Not very likely tbh but it's just another way Farmers is trying to disqualify anyone who cannot meet their demands. The gas shutoff device was a requirement for all homes built after the year 2000 in CA. My house is only about 5 yrs old which means it has it yet Farmers REQUIRES you to provide proof it was installed by the builder which I could not provide. That's like asking the builder to provide proof that you have 5/8" drywall installed. You know it's there, they know it's required by code yet they are finding another fiery hoop for you to jump through. They would not accept a picture as proof but wanted specific documentation which was impossible to obtain. I called PGE, the city, the builder, the plumber who build the house, and even the manufacturer of the device to see if they could provide this documentation. I spent weeks and finally was able to get the proof Farmers finally signed off on it. Throughout this process, Richard was very helpful. He return my calls and provided advice on how to obtain proof for the gas shutoff. He was actually compassionate about my ordeal and even offered to help pay for a plumber to help me obtain this certification. In the end, I got it figured out but I still stand behind my statement about insurance companies being scammers. They know homes built after 2000 has them installed yet they still force people through this agonizing process. The ones that cannot provide it simply get dropped and they are ok with this. I give Farmers a big fat 0 but Richard So's office a 5. Thanks Richard!

After the following review, Richard So's firm called me and helped me with purchasing additional…read morepolicies. They were knowledgeable and responsive to my questions. --- I have been using Richard So's Farmers Insurance services since 2000. I have a total of 7 policies (home, auto, umbrella, CEA etc.). In the last few months, Richard's team is super unresponsive -even after you do multiple email follows ups or phone follow ups there is no one getting back. I am trying to buy additional insurance policies, and each of these new requests are assigned to different people and even after numerous follow ups and email to Richard, no timely responses are provided. I am concerned about how this company will respond if I get into an accident and need a body shop referral or need a follow up on renewal of my existing policies, because the company is not even responding when I am requesting to buy additional policies.

Plus, generic doesn't have noise canceling in it which will be the next issue I address before paying around 2grand out of pocket for the oem glass I should have been advised to use in the first place and recalibration. I probably talked to eight people and they bounced back-and-forth between Safelite in their own customer service and no one can make a decision and resolve a problem. Ultimately the shop who I was not satisfied with and accused of scratching my paint had to submit a request on my behalf to see if Oem would be permitted. Now there's a claim to determine whether or not my paint gets fixed and I would not want that to go against my insurance. The guy actually said that the scratches look like they were small as if he was minimizing the fact that my car was scratched. Doesn't really matter the size of the scratch. Fix it! The entire experience was awful and I'm going to drop them as soon as the claim closes and go with an insurance company that has an agent. Like my last one. I thought saving a few bucks and not having an agent emailed me twice a year would make my life easier but the many many hours I've spent on the phone over several days, frustrated and googling and learning about windshields and replacement has proven far more costly. The progressive reps seem like disjointed heads who may or may not be friendly to speak to but have absolutely no authority to do anything and keep transfer you to Safelite glass repair who handles their calls whether or not you use their service. So it's kind of weird. ultimately they're making me deal with the original shop that sold me the glass even though I complained about multiple points of very unsatisfactory experience with them, and told me if I took it somewhere else it would void the original shops warranty and my noise problem might not get resolved. Yes there's a noise problem after the installation. Why oem on a nicer model like mine wouldn't be covered seems ridiculous. Cheap AF insurer. Avoid if you are at all particular about your vehicle and your time.
