Excellent dental care!   I've been going here for 15 years (at least?). I'm 31 now. Both my parents go too. I honestly feel lucky to have Dr. Gillespie as a dentist.  He is always incredibly thorough with his work, takes his time, and educates you by showing you photos of your teeth, and explains what's going on.  He really cares about his patients, and he does great work overall! ... I have neverrr had any bad experiences going when I was younger either.  I was a young teen, and obviously didn't like going to *any* dentist haha...but it was always a thorough visit and I never had a single bad experience here!  I always felt like my teeth were in good care.  When I would get numbed up, I'd be nervous; but I never once felt the needle!  It helped lessen my fear of needles & going to the dentist. ... I did stop going to the dentist for 7 yrs (b/c college & insurance issues) . But I just started going again this month, and all of the past work Dr. Gillespie did for me has held up great over time!  Everything looks good, and that makes me feel even more safe here. ... I have been going to Dr. Gillespie since I first moved to the South Bay about 8 years ago. He was highly recommended by a co-worker. The quality that stands out most about Dr. Gillespie is his attention to detail. His dental office is the only one I've been to that regularly checks the depth of the gum pockets around every tooth. He will also evaluate the quality of (and in some cases, fix) your prior dental work. He always discusses both the pros and cons of any procedure with you before you decide on doing it--for example, I have an impacted wisdom tooth that every other dentist has recommended removing, but Dr. Gillespie advises me that it would not be worth the risk in potential nerve damage. His staff is very friendly and professional. Suzie, the receptionist, is good about calling to remind you about appointments a few days in advance. Usually Kris does my teeth cleaning, and she is very nice and very thorough. Dr. Gillespie is also a UCLA alum for any of you fellow Bruins out there. read more

However, I believe that superior customer (patient) service deserves to be reviewed. Today, I went to Dr. Gillespie's office for an anterior (front) bonding (filling) on my tooth. Dr. Gillespie took a great deal of time to make this filling look very natural. He could have tried to save time and offer another less conservative treatment option. This would have been far more profitable for him, and much more expensive for me . He didn't even try to offer this to me. I had told him I only wanted a bonding. A dentist like this is very difficult to find. Most people without a dental background do not have the knowledge to make a conservative decision. Here in this office all treatments are explained to you and there is no high pressure treatment plans ! In closing, I wanted to tell you on another occasion I was overcharged for a restoration by the front office manager. Dr. Gillespie called me personally that evening, at my home to explain her error and refund the balance to my account. Updated 07/12/2017 Just went to see Dr. G for my annual cleaning and also had restorative work done on my front teeth and was so pleased I felt I had to update my review from a few years ago. First, like most everyone, dental cleaning is not my favorite event, but the hygienists at Dr. G's office are friendly, efficient and do a fabulous job. Next, during my checkup Dr. G noticed I had a few chips in my front teeth that were noticeable. He was able to schedule me the same week and not only replace my old fillings but also did some cosmetic work that I really needed. Now I'm not constantly touching my front teeth and wishing they looked better, now they look great! and btw- this was a nearly painless experience. End of year and just had my annual cleaning and some cosmetic work done. Dr. G is very particular and detailed, which I LOVE in my dentist. I've been going to his office for many years and have recommended co-workers and friends, everyone is a fan! Dr. G has exceptional skills and has state of the art equipment. I've been a patient for a while and he's a great dentist, but he seems to try and pressure treatment all the time. I've noticed how he became really greedy and worry more about making money than patient care!! He has a great loving staff that I really admire because they deal with his ugly attitude. He has no respect for them, he yells across the hallway for assistace, and make unecessary compliments like "they should be glad they have a job. I really hate seeing and hearing how he treats them and specially the blonde lady with hearing problems. I really would like for him to understand that he should be glad and thankful to have a staff like his, very nice, helpful, and very friendly(because they do make you feel like you're family!!). Because they are great and don't deserve to be treated that way.....Dr. Gillespie, if you really read these reviews good! because you really need to know how it's obvious that your life sucks, but dont take it all out on your patients pocket or staff please!!! Dr. Roger Gillespie has been our family dentist for 7-8 yrs now and we are blessed to have found him. When I first met him, I thought he was a little serious. As I got to know him, I find him to be very easy to talk to, funny and even silly especially around my kids. My kids LOVE going to Dr. G. I have been to a few dentist and he is definitely a perfectionist. He is always focused on making sure everything is perfect. I agree that he can be impatient sometimes with his staff, but I've never seen him rude. I took my mom to him a few years ago with the intention of getting 4 veneers because she has a chipped tooth with an old composite filling. Instead, he advised her to just redo her old filling to a lighter color to match her other teeth. He told her her front teeth looked really good and are in great condition so she should keep it as long as possible. He said she could always do it later if the filling came off again. My mom was amazed with how honest he was. Also, he made every effort to make her comfortable. As of now, her filling is still intact. Whenever anyone needs great, honest dental work done with peace of mind, I completely recommend Dr. G. Two thumbs up from me and my family! read more
