Ihave been a patient here for years and have been happy with the whole team and trusted them completely, which is why I trusted them with oral surgery (implant placed). I've had nothing but problems with the implant for going on 10 months now. It's too involved to go into here, but I wish I had gone to my previous dentist for this surgery. It is a significant procedure and extremely expensive so I would encourage anyone thinking about getting an implant to get several opinions before you start any treatment plan and ask specific and pointed questions. It is not a procedure to be taken lightly and you won't necessarily be informed of all the potential problems before you proceed. read more

I was referred by a friend who had a great experience here. First, the booking process online was very user friendly, couldn't have been easier. If you have trouble online, their front desk is also very helpful and friendly and can help you book your appointment. When I arrived to my appointment and checked in, Lily was very helpful and already had my insurance pulled up to discuss what is covered. It was a very quick process and I only waited about 2-3 mins to be seen. The dental assistant Natalie helped me get settled in and took X-rays and Photos of my teeth. Dr Nguyen arrived shortly after to review my images and discuss my plan of care. He was very friendly and was sure to stop and check if I had any questions. Soon after, the dental hygienist Joan got started on my deep clean and was very attentive throughout the whole process, checking in frequently and offering additional numbing medication if needed. On top of the service being quick and efficient, the environment is very modern and high tech with TVs readily available for you to watch during your appointment. I never thought I'd say this, but I genuinely cannot wait to go back to the dentist - and that is entirely thanks to the team at Artsci Dental! From the moment I walked in, Lily and Alexis at the front desk made me feel so welcome. The office itself is stunning. Every person I encountered was warm, attentive, and clearly passionate about making the experience as comfortable as possible. I came in to see Dr. Brynn for a cleaning and whitening. Joan did my cleaning while Miko assisted, and Miko even put on Love is Blind for me. The TVs are positioned both in front of and above the chair so you can watch comfortably no matter the angle. The cleaning itself was the most pleasant of my life, and I'm not being dramatic. They use a dye to identify plaque age and a water-based tool to remove it, which was so much gentler than the traditional scraper. Erin handled my whitening and checked in with me after every 15-minute session to make sure I was comfortable. Dr. Brynn even popped in a couple times between her other patients. When I checked out, Lily and Alexis sent me off with ibuprofen and water just in case my teeth started to "zing" post-treatment. If you've been avoiding the dentist, this is the place that will change your mind. read more

I initially found ArtSci Dental on Yelp due to their stellar reviews. I always thought they were ok, not great, not terrible- but convenient, which was good enough for me for 2 visits a year. I have to agree with a previous 2-star review I read- I hate being upsold, especially at a dental appointment. They do this thing where the hygienist "paints" your teeth so the different colors that appear show how long the plaque has been there. This is not included in insurance, and an extra cost out-of-pocket. I've gotten it done every visit, but at my last visit when I finally realized it was a separate charge I declined. I don't see the point of it (I'm there for a cleaning, I don't care how long the plaque has been there, just clean my teeth) and they seemed bothered I didn't get it. Additionally, Dr. Nguyen kept pushing for old sealants needing to be replaced- some of it was going to be covered, but again, some out-of-pocket expense- I've had dental appts all my life and have never had to pay out-of-pocket. At that point, I decided it was time to find a new dentist. I just recently had a visit with a new practice, and the Dr said everything looked good and no need to replace my sealants. I don't know when sealants need to be replaced (clearly not a dentist), but I'm glad I got a second opinion. I also didn't get upsold on anything.. If you're early to your appt, they offer white claws. I declined, but I also don't understand the environment they are trying to create. I'm there for a dental appt, not trying to pre-game. Maybe the white claws are why they do the teeth paint? I was teetering between 2 and 3 stars. 2 seems harsh, so I went with 3. I unfortunately don't recommend though, but this is just my opinion. Yeah, nobody wants to have to make a emergency dental visit on a Saturday. But the team here made it all better... even though I had to have an extraction and then a few months later an implant, which of course is not the most fun. In the meanwhile, I've gone back for dental cleaning as well. Love how their high tech skills make my teeth gleam! Everyone here is an absolute rockstar. On my first visit, the sweet, quiet Lily was having her first day at the front desk, being trained by Dana, the rockstar office manager. Now, months later, I love when I see her shy smile. She gives me the iPad to fill out as I'm walking into the door. She's so efficient and very gentle with her manner. I've now had my teeth attended to several times and I want to give a special shout out to Sam the tech, who is brisk and brusque and all business. I appreciate that she gets me in and out pf the dang CT machine quickly! Yay! Of course, the tooth extraction performed by Dr. Nguyen went smoothly with Brooke on hand, but the even less delightful implant was made less stressful with Chelsea singing Stevie Nicks while Dr. did quick work of putting the titanium screw in the waaaay back of my mouth. Folks, lemme tell ya, a dentist who can put an implant in within 30ish minutes is not just good, he's AMAZING. Yes, but how was my recovery? Easy. And I had zero bruising on my face, jaw, or neck. Dr. Nguyen knows his stuff! His office is open Monday through Thursday and then again on Saturday because of course he teaches at the prestigious USC dentistry school on Fridays! Dana, the willowy and super smart office mom er manager always make sure I know exactly what all the charges are gonna be beforehand so that there's no surprises. And she looks awesome in a hat. ;) Plus, there's plenty of parking and a nice seating area in the front or outside by the water element. As soon as I walked in, I could tell this place was different. The receptionist was very polite and got me checked in and ready to go quickly and efficiently. The assistants were attentive to my concerns and informative throughout the check up. Dr. Nguyen was detailed with the examination and was very clear about what was necessary and what was low priority. Finally, came the boss battle being the deep cleaning. This was by far the smoothest deep cleaning of my life. The hygienist was very careful and thorough. Dr.Nguyen changed my life. I grew up without consistent dental care, and had orthodontic treatment once but lost my retainer at 20 years old, a few years after finishing braces. When I went to see him I hadn't seen a dentist in over 10 years. I was scared and anxious and my teeth had become a huge source of trauma for me, and going to the dentist seemed so daunting to me as a recent college grad, until a coworker recommended him to me. (My whole engineering team was seeing him at this point) Dr. Nguyen is a miracle and a healer. His office is calm, the staff is friendly, and they let me watch gossip girl or Taylor swift music videos while getting my work done. I had 9 cavities when I came to him. He helped me take it slow and get everything filled a few at a time, and he even got out a random piece of tooth in my gums that showed up in college. And finally- Dr Nguyen took out all 4 of my wisdom teeth, something people do in high school or college, but now I was doing so at 26, WHILE I WAS AWAKE. It is a testament to his painless injection technique. The fillings were painless and the wisdom tooth removal was painless.
