I had a great cleaning today at Beach Cities Dentistry. They took good care of me and I was very comfortable.

I had my first dental implant with Dr. Tehrani, with the surgical portion performed by Dr. Mehra. The first crown was not comfortable and required some follow-up and communication. Dr. Tehrani ultimately agreed to remake the crown, and the new one is a significant improvement and feels much more comfortable. I appreciate that the issue was addressed and resolved. read more

I would say do a consult before proceeding with their teeth whitening system. The doctor is great and spends time speaking with you about your teeth after the hygienists does the cleaning. Some doctors I've noticed don't really spend much time with you. They also have later appointments which is helpful with scheduling if you have a typical 8-5 schedule. read more

Ok so it was 2020 NYE and I just moved back to LA from NYC. I was flossing my tooth when suddenly my tooth fell out. WTF? So I called every dentist around and Dr. Tehrani was working that evening. He spent SEVERAL hours working to mold a veneer. 6 years later that veneer has given me NO issues. I can eat a ROCK. This dentist is SKILLED. For real. Dr Tehrani and Dr Mehra have taken away all my fear and dread about going to the dentist. I've had multiple procedures here! Dr Mehra just completed the second step in my implant process. I had zero pain and was treated with so much kindness. She explained each step to me and made a seemingly difficult procedure almost pleasant! I've gone to Dr. Tehrani a few times now. Overall, he's very good and very nice. Had no problems so far with any of the things he's done (still waiting on a root canal retreatment his endodontist did [don't remember her name]). However, I cannot in good conscience give a perfect score due to the front desk lack of professionalism when it comes to getting a response back and issue resolved outside of the office. Often, I'd have to call back several times having received no response. The end of the world? No. But it's a small part that does become frustrating. This was the best dental experience I've had In my 40 years of life! I came here yesterday in an emergency situation in extreme pain. Everyone was so helpful and they were able to squeeze me in even though I was a new patient and had never been there before. They tended to me as quick as possible to make sure I was out of pain and then went through all my options clearly and based on MY needs. The dentist/owner was the best and he spent the time with me. He didn't want to waste my time or money! That never happens in health care anymore. I was honestly blown away with the service. I am no longer fearful of visiting the dentist. Since Covid, I've become fearful of the dentist for the first time in my life. When I chipped a front tooth I was really nervous. Dr. Tehrani and his hygienist were so kind. They heard my fear and were very patient explaining their practices and what to expect from my visit. I just got back and I felt like everything went really well. Dr. Tehrani made the process of getting my tooth bonded as physically and mentally comfortable as possible. I had no discomfort during the procedure. Kelly at the front desk is also awesome. Staff was professional and kind. Everything was pretty standard procedure from my personal experience of going to my family dentist. Dr. Tehrani was great and available to answer any questions I had. He was thorough and took time to provide different options for some chipped teeth have. My only negative feedback would be my experience with the x-ray. The person who did my x-ray was sweet and professional, however the black plastic piece that is put in your mouth for the x-ray was not pleasant. I don't know if my gums have just become more sensitive or my pain tolerance is low. I've done a few x-rays at my dentist back home and never felt pain during the x-ray. I will return for a cleaning, however I may visit my dentist back home for the x-ray part. Again, overall my experience was great. Thank you guys! read more

I cannot recommend Dr Tehrani and his staff enough, they are such wonderful people. I am a mouth breather and always suffer through dental procedures. Unfortunately I am not blessed with good teeth genetics so I've had many cavities and crowns. Dr. Tehrani is so patient and gentle and always schedules extra time for me so I have time to take breaks. We are moving across country so I just visited them for the last time today and I teared up saying goodbye! I have never felt emotional leaving a dentist before haha. Dr. Tehrani couldn't be more professional than he is, nor his staff. I hate going to my dental appointments but he makes them as painless as possible. My appointments are always on time, he always explains the procedures and makes sure that I'm not in pain. He's personable and doesn't upsell you. The staff nor he doesn't make you feel guilty during cleanings but at the same time encourages you to take care of your teeth. There's a great deal of parking available for Manhattan Beach. I have been going to Dr Tehrani for 15 years now. He takes his time at consultations, does a great job and never tries to do unneccessary work. I have referred friends to him whom are very pleased with his knowledge and work as well. I moved my two young kids over to his practice from a nearby pediatric dentistry because he and his stuff do a lot better job. My kids missed the having TVs above their heads at first, but they really like him so they don't care anymore. They ask me to see him before their cleaning appointment comes up. I highly recommend to NOT go here. Visited this place because of recommendations from my colleagues. Sent the summary of my visits to my doctor in Europe, he told me that was not what I needed, so I have booked a ticket already and will see my amazing dentist soon. Dear beach cities density, please read this: I have cancelled my future consultations because you suck and because my insurance didn't cover an additional appointment. I have sent an email with follow up questions and that email has been ignored, that is why I wanted to come in person and clarify some things. After talking on the phone with my dentist he explained what was needed to be done and I realized that I might have done unnecessary work if I chose your place for it. Now a funny part - I had a cleaning appointment booked months in advance. They cancelled it without any notice. When I called to confirm I was told "we ASSUMED you wanted to cancel it too". Summary: 1. Dentist might or might not offer you unnecessary options (only because I ASSUME he doesn't know better) 2. Emails might be ignored 3. Appointments might be cancelled just because they assume way too much Think twice prior to choosing this place. read more

After 15 years, I had to find a new dentist as mine was no longer covered by my insurance. I found Dr. Tehrani after much searching on the internet and on my insurance company's website. I am so glad I decided to start coming here! The staff is so friendly, Dr. Tehrani is competent, friendly and does great dental work. I recently had two cavities filled and have had no problems with the filling work. I also had a root canal done and the procedure was painless and done in about an hour. They don't try to sell me services that I don't need and I know their advice is trustworthy and valuable. Dr. Tehrani is an amazing kind, caring person and a wonderful dentist. I had an emergency 2 days before Christmas and Dr. Tehrani and his staff took care of me for 4 hours and I was a total stranger to them and not their patient. My dentist was already on Christmas vacation. Dr. Tehrani gave me a new crown to replace a cracked molar and also discovered that I had a massive infection in another tooth that I had no idea at all that I had and it needed a root canal. Dr. Tehrani has been great so far. The reason I stopped going to my last dentist is because they're always trying to sell you something, and the front office staff went downhill. The office staff at Beach Cities has been very friendly and Dr. Tehrani wasn't trying to get me to buy toothbrushes and other products which can obviously be found at Target for a fraction of the cost. He focused on what I was there for.... My Teeth. I'm glad to have found this dentist. I, like most people, dreaded going to the dentist. You can tell a lot about a doctor's office by how the front is run, and this place wins 5 stars for that element 2) His hygienists are very thorough, and don't try to guilt trip you if you have some plaque buildup. Other places I've been, I feel like I was constantly defending myself: "Yes I flossed, I promise!" 3) Dr. Tehrani is caring, thoughtful, and personal. I have gone here for the past few years and Dr. Tehrani is the only dentist I will ever go to. Period. He is so personable, very patient with my anxious, wimpy self, always checking to make sure I am comfortable and in no pain. He does such a great job very quickly and perfectly (other dentists leave stuff crusted on your teeth and you end up swallowing it or you bite down and your jaw feels weird). Dr. Tehrani and his staff are great. His staff are courteous and friendly and always willing to accommodate changes in schedule. I always feel like I get the best care at Beach Cities Dentistry and they're never trying to oversell me unnecessary procedures like they do at other dentists' offices. Also, one time last year I had a tooth emergency as I had cracked one of my molars. Dr. Tehrani and his team were able to fit me in and he worked really late that night to fix my tooth. My review is way overdue, since I had been going to Dr. Tehrani for about 16 years. So here we go: Dr. Tehrani by far was the best dentist I have ever met in life. I was traumatized by bad experiences and did not see a dentist for almost 9 years before I met Dr. Tehrani, imagined all the dental mess I had at that point (abscess, root canal, fillings.....you name it). He was extremely patient and kind with my fear and step by step fixed all my dental issues. He's always very honest, open and positive about the condition of my teeth, never at any point making me feel guilty or fearful. I even took his advice gotten braces and I have never been happier with my teeth. My husband and son have been going to him too! I am forever grateful for a dentist like him. read more

The worst dental experience I have had in at least 15 years. I will NOT be coming back! Dr. Tehrani claimed I needed a $900+ "Deep Cleaning" but after getting a second opinion today and speaking with my regular dentist no one thought a "Deep Cleaning" was necessary. My wife who was also getting her teeth cleaned that day as well received a more thorough cleaning than myself. Dr. Tehrani didn't even use floss during my cleaning. I am now forced to schedule another cleaning with my regular dentist to complete the unfinished work. This was also disturbing, Dr. Tehrani tried to sell my wife on a CPAP solution that he offers even though she does not have sleep apnea and he is not a physician. Lastly, while talking about Dr. Tehrani refusal to perform a future "Standard" cleaning he told me that "He knew better than me" and did want to listen to my point of view regarding my future budget possibilities concerning a "Deep Cleaning". Please think twice before using this dentist. One additional word of warning - This dentist threatens it's clients with a $80+ fee if the client does NOT cancel an appointment within 48 hours of the appointment. This is an unlawful practice in the state of California. Update! - So this how Dr. Tehrani responded to my review on his website and my comments are here for clarity. "Aaron, You were referred to me by a wonderful long time patient of ours. You said that someone bought the practice from your previous dentist and you did not like the new dentist. So you really did not have a regular dentist." - I did not say any of this to Dr Tehrani. In fact he asked me very little about my previous Dentist. Although Dr Tehrani response here is right in line with the dismissive bedside manner he exhibited during my visit. "...As far as your wife's case, I reviewed some symptoms and I said that if she thought she had any of them that I had to refer her. I'm supposed to do that and that is my professional obligation." - I'm going to leave this one to my wife's Yelp since she was the one who felt awkward about a diagnosis/CPAP sales pitch combo. "...In your case, you told me the issue ran in your family and that this issue was discussed with you by other dentists." - That was about all the information Dr Tehrani asked me and this is where he started to loose me as his diagnosis seemed pretty far off base compared to my regular Dentist. "...You just did not want to follow recommendations." - I explained to Dr Tehrani several times that we didn't have dental insurance at the time so a $900+ elective procedure was out of the question. 'Want' wasn't the issue. "...I did the same cleaning for your wife that I did for you." After I compared notes with my wife, clearly Dr Tehrani did NOT. "...In fact you asked to come back in six months and do it again. Until I said no to you and your behavior all of a sudden changed." - So this is totally out of sequence or Dr Tehrani didn't understand that after he said "I really shouldn't clean your teeth" early on in the visit I was none too pleased with him. The ONLY reason I stayed any longer in his office was to get my teeth "Cleaned". I responded to his statement with "EXCUSE ME, Can you explain?". He did not explain, He simply stated he was now going to "Clean" my teeth. At the end of the "Cleaning", I asked Dr Tehrani a question to clarify his earlier statement "If I was able to either get dental insurance or be able to afford the deep cleaning in 12 month, would he perform my standard 6 month cleaning?" I got a resounding "NO" and not an ounce of understanding for my financial situation. So I told Dr Tehrani "We have nothing further to talk about". "...So there was nothing wrong with the cleaning you received." - I don't see how this proves anything? Well other than his dismissive bedside manner. "...I'm a trained dentist with 20 years of experience. I gave a you a good example about your case while you were here and we did have this discussion at my office. If you are asking me to do something that would be harmful to you, I will refuse even if that makes you write a negative review." - I don't know what to say here other than Dr Tehrani is being defensive about the factual account of my visit. I didn't ask him to do something harmful. NO ONE thinks a good 6 month cleaning is a harmful procedure and it's just unprofessional to say so. - Dr Tehrani finished up by trying to defend his unlawful cancelation policy but I will spare you. Personally, if a dentist needs to rely on a threat to get clients to show up to an appointment... It's a RED flag! To recap - I will NOT be going back and I hope you find this review helpful! I was recently referred to dr Tehrani by a friend. From the moment I entered, I was greeted by the receptionist. There was no wait, just the time it took me to fill out the forms. This is very unusual because my previous dentist had long wait times. Dr T spent a lot of time explaining my condition and what had to be done to move forward. The hygienist was great. This was the best cleaning I've had in a long time. Few appointments later and my teeth feel great and healthy again. The office is clean and the equipment looks new. I highly recommend this office. Currently just started braces with their orthodontist. No more Hassle of having to go to different offices since they have a specialist for all the different specialties.
