An AWESOME dentist and team! Last week I had a cleaning with hygienist Brandy, and WOW -- she is very nice, upbeat and thorough yet gentle. I will definitely have all my follow up cleanings with her. Then this week I had to have a crown, and a self-report, I am a dental Fraidy Cat! Dr. Withers (aka Dr Brian), is so understanding and helped me stay calm during the procedure. His wingwoman, Dental Assistant Melissa, was very kind and caring. They both did not rush me and checked frequently to ensure I was okay. The procedure went very quickly and painlessly. The cherry on top is Dr. Brian called me that evening to check on me and be sure I was not experiencing any discomfort. WOWWOWWOW! That's "old school" service and care for your patient. I cannot express how much I appreciated the call. This level of true caring plus his expert knowledge and conservative approach is why my whole family goes to Withers Dental. I'm from NJ and had an emergency while visiting friends in the area. My permanent crown became dislodged. I called the office at 4:45pm and explained the situation and need to get the crowns reset. The office staff explained they were closing at 5:00, but could help me the next day. I went on for a noon appointment and was met with bite friendliest team I have ever encountered in dentistry, or any medical practice. Dr. Withers is very good at explaining what's going on in your mouth, in an easy-to-understand way. Also, he is honest. On more than one occasion, a family member was told they needed extensive and expensive dental work by another dentist, so I brought them here to ask Dr. Withers. Turned out it was not as bad as the other dentist made it out to be, and Dr. Withers explained and fixed it without breaking the bank. All the hygienists here are thorough, friendly, and careful with my sensitive gums so I don't end up with mouthfuls of blood for the rest of the day. While I, fortunately, have a decent set of teeth, I have simultaneously been a bit of a dental chicken and not scheduling as many cleanings as you probably should in your adult life. Dr. B and Hygienist Jen took very good care of my first visit consultation and cleaning in Manhattan Beach location. Their approach was very sincere, straightforward, and genuine which is not the vibe at other dentists from my experience. Luckily this office is very close to my house and I look forward to making them my neighborhood spot when my teeth need some attention. Dr. Withers is a great dentist and truly cares about his patients. I was relatively new to the area and was in an emergency situation where I majorly chipped my front tooth. Even as a new patient, Dr Withers was able to see me right away and fit me in immediately after hours. He did a great job on my cosmetic repair, it's truly amazing that you would never know I lost a large portion of my tooth. WITHERS dental is by far the best dentists I've had in Los Angeles. The entire staff is warm and welcoming. They are very polite and the office is clean and comfortable. I've only ever had great experiences. The parking is easy and I love that they are available for Saturday appointments when necessary. I recently had a wisdom tooth pulled here and I was extremely anxious, nervous, and basically freaking out but they calmed me down and made the process as smooth as butter! They weren't lying when they said it would take a minute. It was pulled and out on my merry way, and it healed up quick! THE BEST! I love my teeth (and so should you) so it's a real serious search for me to find the best. After asking every person I know, and every person they know, the overwhelming response was for Dr Brian. He and his amazing staff were better than advertised. The front office is polite and efficient. Waiting area is clean (great coffee and bottled water while you wait, and the cooking channel is usually on the TV, but I never get to watch much cause there is never a wait. Cleaning is so paramount to me. It makes everything else easier. Also making for less issues or larger problems. The ladies are quick painless and do a great job. But if you do have bigger problems, Dr. Brian is the man. Old enough to have plenty of experience but young enough to be up on All the newest cool stuff and techniques. He explains everything to you and doesn't keep asking dumb questions while there are 12 instruments in your face hole. I live in LA proper. There are a ton of great dentists here in town. My dentist of 30 years retired as I was super bummed out cause I didn't know who to switch to. I delightfully met Dr Brian Whithers office and staff now! Starting on the phone- they are so polite and helpful selecting a day that works with my full schedule. The front lounge is decorated very nice and clean with beverages as patients wait. I also really enjoy how family like run the office feels. Although it's a Dr office it feels like warm home vibe. I also like that fact that there a few Dr on site one being the original Dr Withers himself and his son Brian- I highly recommend this dentist office and very happy with the fresh change. It's great to know the youth of Dr Brian so that it gives me peace of mind I won't have to change my dentist for some time now. I am aware that many people have terrible experiences and trauma around even thinking about headed to the dentist. This office is nothing like that- it's actually very humbling to know. Overall Review: I just got home from having my permanent bridge put in by Dr. Brian Withers. I can not say enough good things about this dental office, but I'm going to try. I moved to LA about four years ago, prior to this, I had the same dentist since I was a baby. I neglected my teeth for the last four years due to the fear of choosing a new dentist that wasn't MY dentist. I took a shot in the dark based on other reviews online, I'm very happy with where the shot landed. Because of the length of time since my last dentist visit, I had to go through the gauntlet of the "welcome back to the dentist" routine. All four quads of my mouth needed deep cleaning, as well as a full replacement of my left front bridge (had some decay under it that needed attention). I dreaded all of this, as most anyone would. On top of all of this, I was just weeks away from my healthcare plan running out at work due to my employer going bankrupt. I had to move fast if I was going to have any hope of having my much needed work covered. Karen, Uni, Martha, and Dr Brian Withers all bent over backwards to help expedite the entire process. There wasn't enough time left to schedule me for all the work I needed before my insurance ran out due to their appointments being booked for the upcoming weeks. Karen calledl me every time there was any cancellation at all, giving me a chance to get all of my deep cleanings done in the first two weeks. Then the bridge replacement... Karen managed to expedite the insurance approval by hounding my provider, all just in time to get the work done two days before my insurance ran out, saving me several thousands dollars. I felt like I was being taken care of by people who cared about what happened to me rather then an office that just wanted my money. I am more then happy with all of the work that Dr Brian Withers did for me. My new bridge looks amazing. Even my temporary bridge I had on while they made my permanent one looked great. I had at least one more person there work in my mouth, although I don't remember her name and she only did one quadrant of the deep cleaning. I've been a patient of the Withers' dental practice for many years. The work of Dr. James Withers often prompted unsolicited praise from other dentists that I needed to see for specialized care. Several months back, Dr. James Withers fully retired, and Dr. Brian Withers has taken over the office with the assistance of Dr. Jenna Atwood. Since then, there seems to be less attention to detail and careful consideration of alternative treatments. In one case, I sought a second opinion from another dentist, and as a result, totally rejected the recommendation of Dr. Brian Withers. Yes, the office is friendly and jovial, but I don't primarily go to a dentist for a good time. Hence my rating is only three stars until they prove they're better than average. read more

I have gone to Withers dental my whole life. Dr. Jim Withers for the first 25 years and Dr. Brian for the past few. It has been a perfectly seamless transition from father to son, so much so that Dr Brian stepped in when I broke my front tooth in a bicycle accident. The repair was so perfect that I often forget which tooth is the repaired one (I doubt if you could tell). Thanks Dr Withers to you and your staff for being so helpful in my time of need. I must say the work I had done by Dr. Jenna was phenomenal. It's just too bad that I was "quoted" one price and then ended up being charged seven times the amount because the office manager failed to recheck my insurance. Especially since "all the work" I had done was either in their office or referred by them to get prepared for "work" they "needed" to do. The way the owner, Dr Brian and office manager handled my situation was absolutely absurd. I do not recommend coming here.
