The attorney also mentioned that there wasn't much of a case because no one sought medical attention, there was no blood, and no broken bones were reported. It's sad to think that these are the criteria used to decide whether a case will be taken or not. The attorney said it seems like a road rage incident because my husband honked his horn at the other driver, and we rear-ended him because he braked suddenly. At no time was this a road rage incident. My husband used the horn solely as a warning to alert the other driver that we were already traveling in that lane after the driver unexpectedly entered our path. The horn was intended as a defensive measure to help prevent a collision, not as an act of aggression. My husband wasn't even cited for anything! It appeared to me that the attorney failed to comprehend the details of the accident we were explaining. It sounded like the attorney advised against using your horn and simply letting someone hit you. This didn't make sense to me, so we decided to seek advice from another well-known firm that disagreed with this approach. Furthermore, the attorney was displeased that my husband was arguing with him and persistently insisted to the attorney that it wasn't a road rage incident. However, the attorney refused to listen and it was frustrating my husband. The attorney claimed that he wouldn't tolerate someone screaming at him, but my husband was in another room and was speaking loudly, which was definitely not screaming at this attorney. I was deeply disappointed that this attorney refused to gather all the facts and genuinely listen to a potential client. Would NOT recommend!!! They advertise "focused & limited caseloads". My lawyer was either…read moreextremely overloaded or did not work much at all. Took days for a response to me and weeks for a response to the opposing party. What I thought would take 60 days ended up taking 6 months. They advertise "thousands of successful client cases". I was the only one fighting for myself and I feel the only one that eventually made it successful. I was encouraged to "pay the as$_@le fee" a number of times. It was only when I put my foot down and said it was either this or court, did we get anywhere. I did not have a lawyer, I had a messenger. They advertise "reducing stress", "they are family law attorneys that provide not only legal counsel but emotional support", "they effectively communicate complex legal jargon", etc. They did not reduce stress, they made a stressful situation so much more stressful. I received only a few word responses most of the time, "for your review" or "for your records" or "I can't look at this for a few days but wanted to get it to you". It was only when I took us all down huge rabbit holes and spent a significant amount of time (aka money), would they then explain what the legal jargon actually meant. And last but not least, you pre-pay for services which is understandable, but they do not give you all the details. They fail to mention that they will keep your case open 30 days after it is concluded, just in case you need them for anything (even though you are able to still reach out after the 30 days if needed). And after those 30 days, it then goes to the accounting department where they hold it for another 45 days just in case other charges come up (even though they have all your information, including a credit card number/bank account if needed). Not a fun thing to learn after a 6-month $12,500 battle, that they are going to hold your $3,500 hostage for another 75 days. With all that said, I WOULD recommend my ex-husband's lawyer, as they ran circles around us (extremely embarrassing). Her name is Kate Simonds with the Simonds Law Group.
