Rod's has been taking care of our stupidly huge (75') sycamore tree since 2001 and Rod & team were taking care of it long before that. When we first moved in (2001) there were actually two sycamores, this main one and and smaller (not much smaller) one that grew up to the bottom of the canopy on the main one and then grew out over our neighbor's driveway. Within a year of us moving in we had Rod's take the second tree down. Alex and the team are awesome to work with, do the work for a fair cost and are always thorough trimming as well as thorough cleaning up. So much debris over our yard, both neighbors and in the street. All cleaned up as if they were never here. What I also like, is that the team seems to really like their work and like working with each other. Everyone is in a good mood and they are laughing and joking with each other. I don't know how those guys climb into the tree so high. It would scare the crap out of me. But, they get up the branches and have their chain saws hanging from their belts. Awesome! If you need tree trimming, stump removal or any tree servicing call Rod's, you will not be mad at me for telling you to do so! They are arborists, so it's not just a tree trim, it is checking on the health of the trees as well. Great job! Thanks Rod's! read more

We have been doing business with Rod's Trees Service for years. They always do a great job!

First of all the business is one of the upmost professional Tree Service companies I've ever come in contact with. To start, they are certified arborists, which gives them an advantage over others which just simply cut and trim. They understand the best needs for all your trees and trim accordingly. Rick, is one of the owners and he is one of the most friendly, kind, helpful people I've ever come in contact with. For example, when I had my hip replacement a couple years ago, he came personally to my house to accommodate me and asked me questions about what are some things I needed at my property down by the beach. Rick and his team attend to the details! This means if you ask for anything, Rick and his team, make sure to accommodate every specific request by the inch! One of the things that makes Rods Tree Service unique among other businesses in the south Orange County area, is if something needs to be done and it was not on, the original proposal, they will offer to help by doing what needs to be done and sometimes if you are a regular customer, at no cost. They do not nickel and dime you with little things he gives a fair price for great service and those at Rod's Tree Service although they've been in business for generations, I expect them to continue to be in business for generations based on their performance. Please do not hesitate to call them and get a quote and believe me, your trees will grow healthy. They will trim the trees to their most healthiest and best way possible. I would go with nobody else . read more

Neighbor had tree cut down, with the wind blowing the mess over to our house left dust, dirt, tree debris on our vehicles, in our pool, all over the yards. They blew the neighbors yard mess over to our yard as well. They never came over to clean up the mess in our yard. Just left it. When we called in office, said there was nothing they could do. So we spent hours cleaning up mess from tree cut next door by Rods Tree Service. Hope they don't come back to our street. Do not recommend read more

We were getting notices from our HOA about our tree overgrowth on the side of our house and we knew our trees needed some serious pruning and trimming. We called Rod's Tree Service to help us with our overgrowth issue, as well as attend to our olive trees in the front of our home that had lost their shape and needed a trim. We had the best experience with Alex and his very professional team. Not only was Alex extremely communicative, he personally came out to give a quote and came to the job site the day of to ensure everything went well and that expectations were met. The team was very fast, collected all trimmings and debris and did an excellent job with maintaining our beautiful trees, but also effectively trimming them down so they no longer cause issues along our sidewalk. Very happy with the result and will absolutely be using Rod's Tree Service again. Thank you Alex and team for cleaning up our trees!! read more

Our slopes had become overgrown by years old shrubs I planted many years ago. Rick, the 3rd generation owner, came out, listened patiently to my concerns and within a day gave me a reasonable quote. His team came out right on time, were extremely pleasant and accommodating and did an excellent job. I wholeheartedly recommend them for your tree/shrub concerns. read more

I've managed property since 2008. I've hired and fired a number of vendors over the years. Rod's Tree Service has trimmed our office trees a couple of times now and we've been so happy with their services. These trees were planted in 2014 so they are pretty much young. Care is taken to be sure the canopy is trimmed to avoid damage to the structure as they grow and when they are done, our trees look like they just got out of the salon! Additionally, the communication and confirmation of appointments is so refreshing. Vendors rarely take the time and this helps us avoid scheduling conflicts. Absolutely recommend Rod's Tree Service!! read more

Highly recommended by a friend and the service we received was excellent. 3rd generation owner. Rick came out to do the bid. Showed up on time and was very professional. He is a certified arborist. His suggestions were greatly appreciated. Bid received the next day and was very reasonable. Cut down 4 trees and trimmed several others. Crew had workers comp insurance. Rick, job supervisor and a team of six showed up on time for the job day. Walked the grounds and discussed what was to be done, so everyone was on the same page. They worked as a well experienced team. Got the job done quickly and cleaned up nicely. Will definitely use them again. read more

The Crew of 6 were outstanding! Jason supervised and worked with the Team. They were very polite to our neighbors as they had to access their yard as well. They cut and trimmed everything we discussed and they cleaned up nicely after the job was done. We have already scheduled them back for the next visit. read more

Rods Tree Service came out to our home and they took care of a huge trunk that fell on our refrigerator repairman van. They not only solved the problem but did a little extra trimming to avoid any further issues. Matt came out personally and he is the grandson of the family owned business for over 40 years. Him and his crew were about as gracious and helpful as possible, and I would totally recommend them to anyone at any time. read more

WOW! We moved into a home that had some over grown trees, a very jungle-ish looking side yard, and some old tree stumps (some that were tangled with sprinkler/fountain plumbing) and rods tree service came to the rescue!! They came out on time for the Initial quote, was given a great price quote a few hours later. Owner Alex text me the night before confirming our appointment the next morning, I really liked that aspect. The crew came early the day of appointment, also enjoyed that aspect as well! They worked so efficiently and were so clean!! They finished way sooner than I was planning on and our yard looks so much better and all the plants and trees look happy and groomed. When we need any tree/yard trimming done we'll be calling you back for sure! read more

Rod's Tree service did an amazing job on my hugely overgrown 20 year old pepper tree, my olive trees, my strawberry trees, mellalucas, and my queen palms. Richard came very quickly to give me a quote. I was delighted to learn that he is the 3rd generation of this business, which was founded by his grandfather. Richard studied Forestery at Cal State Humboldt (now Cal Poly Humboldt I believe). He gave me a very fair quote and we scheduled the service (a month or so out, because they are so good and busy!). They arrived on time, with at least 4-5 employees. Jason was the team lead and a cousin of Richard, so still in the family! Oh my gosh. These guys were amazing. They trimmed the trees just how I wanted. They did not at all trample my plants like my last trimmers did. They cleaned up and my yard was neater than when they arrived. I was so impressed! Rod's Tree Service will be my go-to tree service from now on! read more

We had Rod's Tree service come yesterday to cut a lot of our eucalyptus trees and a few others. The guys did a really great job. It was very complicated as I have many potted plants below the trees that needed to be moved, I have a lot of staghorn ferns under the trees, and many other things that needed to be avoided. They cut the trees way back as I requested and did not damage any of my other plants. They also cleaned up the job quite well. Nice guys working for this company, I will definitely hire them for all of our tree trimming needs. read more

I couldn't be happier. They gave me a fair price, arrived on time, worked quickly and efficiently, and provided a beautiful result.

The trees on my property badly needed shaping and pruning. I was hesitant (as was my landlord) because a previous crew had butchered the trees. Rod's Tree Service did an excellent job, and it's even more evident as the trees have filled out over the past few months. They were courteous, showed up on time, they stuck with their quote, and made an effort to not disturb any nesting birds in the trees. Courteous, knowledgeable, outstanding service. I would highly recommend them. read more

Superb service! Alex was always responsive from the inquiry call, to site inspection, written quote and subsequent communication. He and his crew arrived on time and began work immediately. The team clearly enjoys what they do and it shows. They performed exactly what they said they were going to do and more! Extremely professional. They were very efficient, careful and respectful. They cleaned up perfectly. We will definitely hire them again. Thank you, Alex and team! read more

I could not be happier with this company! I was helped by Alex for two separate jobs and I am so happy I used them. Earlier this year, I used this service to remove about 10 mature trees/ roses bushes + stump removal from our front and back yard. I was stunned at how nice AND knowledgeable Alex was when he came to my house. The crew were all smiles when they came to remove the trees. They arrived on time, completed the job in a reasonable amount of time, and left no debris behind (I was honestly expecting to do a lot of the clean up myself). One year later, I contacted Alex again to plant new trees in my newly done yards. This guy knows his stuff. He was very patient with me and always willing to text or answer my calls regarding possible tree options. I felt like I was always listened to and respected. The same crew came out to plant the trees and again, came on time, completed at a reasonable time, and left no debris behind. I will always recommend this service for anything related to trees (pruning, planting, or removing) read more

When they trimmed our palm trees, the palm fronds fell on our roof and broke 40 tiles. It cost us $1500 to repair the tiles. Rod's tree service denied they did broke our tiles but it was very evident that all the broken tiles were under the palm trees. The roof was fully repaired and inspected a year ago and no one was on the roof since the inspection . The roof damage was verified by a respectable roofing company. read more

Would recommend for any small or large project, extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Thanx guys,

Rick the owner has an unbelievable breadth of knowledge of trees, shrubs, soil and everything else you might want to know about what's going on in your yard. But more importantly - he's a great all-around guy and member of the community. He came over my home and answered questions about what trees I should buy and why, what plants attract hummingbirds, the sunlight requirements of various plants, etc. He never tried to sell me anything or make me feel guilty about taking his time. He's earned my loyalty for life. Thank you Rick. read more

We had four trees trimmed including two that were hanging over the pool. They crew did a great job pruning and shaping the trees while keeping the pool clean. They arrived on time, very professional, considerate and got right to work. In and out in four hours and when they left, the area was so clean that you didn't know they had been here. Our tenant is a lovely 68 year old woman. I would guess that she did not do a thorough inspection of the roof while hanging her Christmas lights. In the interest of full disclosure, as noted in my earlier messages to Rods Tree Service, my tenant heard a loud crash followed by some cursing. When she opened the front door, there were chunks of broken tile on the walkway (as noted in the pictures provided to Rods Tree Service). While the tile in question showed some damage prior to the trimming, it was still serviceable. After the damage sustained during the trimming, that is no longer the case. The tile must be replaced. read more

Rick and Matt of Rod's Tree Service were the best. They did great work, on time and cleaned-up as if they hadn't even been here. The best part of their service is the great attitude they both had and their willingness to get things right the way you would like them to be. They do the work as if they lived there themselves---------------and you don't always get that kind of care these days. Highly recommend!! I hired Rod's Tree Service to remove a couple trees at my house, as well as some overall trimming of all of my trees. They did a fantastic job and we couldn't be happier. Rick, Alex, and the crew were all very friendly and a pleasure to work with. They also did what they said they were going to do in terms of sending the estimate when planned, showing up on time, and of course the job itself was executed exactly as planned. It's very refreshing working with contractors that are professional. They made the whole process easy, and we look forward to hiring them again in the future. read more

DO NIT RECOMMEND !!!!Rods Tree Service was removing palms at our next door neighbor and (partly neighbors inconsideration) but they blocked the front access to my house for 3hrs w their equipment . Not only that, but as they were working on neighbors trees they had everything (stumps, Palm frongs, trash) in my driveway and yard!! They were not apologetic and when they left they left behind a huge mess IN MY YARD!! It's not like they didn't have enough guys to do cleanup there were at least 8 guys out there to remove 3trees. read more
