While passing through Visalia we found this place. There aren't many places like this where we live…read moreso we thought we'd give it a try. Entered in to a very open and clean seating area. There is both indoor and outdoor seating options. Inside they are picnic table style with bench seating and long tables or counter seating near the windows. Outdoors was set up with table and chair patio style seating. Immediately greeted by a friendly employee and after we mentioned it was our first time there she gave us a thorough overview of how it works. One thing we really liked was the customer has the option to select their "signature" dogs or you can create your own using all the toppings they have available via a slip of paper. You just check the boxes of what you want on your all beef hot dog (1/4 lb.), a polish sausage or bratwurst. I discovered afterwards they also offer "mini" dogs, which I should have gotten because they are quite large and my eyes were bigger than my stomach after I ordered a hot dog and a homemade corndog. My daughter got a polish dog and a homemade cheese dog (like a corn dog but using cheese instead of a hot dog). I got tater tots as a side and my daughter the homemade potato chips. All the food was tasty and we'd get them all again, though as I mentioned above I'd probably go "mini" on one or both because together there was just too much food for me. If we go through Visalia again, we'll definitely return.

This review is solely for the Root Beer Float I just had to have and it did NOT disappoint!…read more I ordered with a staff member. However, there are kiosks you can order off of or you can order via the app, or even tableside via a QR Code. He was helpful and answered my question. I asked if the Root Beer came with free refills since it was a float and the dispenser is behind the counter. He told me the Root Beer has free refills and if I wanted more Ice Cream, there would be an additional charge. I think it is the same price as buying a cone for $0.99. I can't remember, but I remember thinking I would've just bought the cone and put the ice cream in my mug & eaten the cone. I requested the Frosty Mug. I actually thought I ordered the keepsake mug, but the total for my float was less than the cost of the mug, so I knew I wasn't keeping the mug. I truly enjoyed my Root Beer Float especially after walking up and down Main Street in Downtown Visalia for a few hours in the heat. It was smooth and delicious! I couldn't resist getting the refill on the Root Beer! I made sure to save a little ice cream from the first fill. I'm glad I stopped in for the Root Beer Float! Maybe I'll try some hot food next time!

The Gold Standard of Fast Food: A&W Exeter…read more If you're tired of the "fast food lottery"--where you never know if your burger will look like a gourmet meal or something that's been sat on--it is time to pull into the A&W in Exeter. This spot isn't just a quick stop; it's a masterclass in how consistency should be done. The "What You See Is What You Get" Factor We've all been there: the menu picture shows a towering masterpiece, but the actual tray holds a sad, flat disappointment. Not here. At this location, the food is stupid consistent. When they bring your tray out, it looks exactly like the photos--fresh, stacked perfectly, and ready for its close-up. Why It Hits Different * Fresh Ingredients: You can actually taste the quality. The veggies are crisp, the buns are soft, and nothing feels like it's been sitting under a heat lamp for an hour. * The Fries: Always served piping hot and seasoned to perfection. No soggy, lukewarm disappointments in these red fry sleeves. * The "Secret Weapon": Let's talk about that ranch. It's easily some of the best-tasting ranch in the game--creamy, zesty, and the perfect partner for those fries or a side of cheese curds. * The Legend: You simply cannot leave without a mug of that ice-cold draft root beer. There is a massive difference between a canned soda and a frosted glass of the draft stuff. It's the ultimate thirst-quencher. Service With a Real Smile Beyond the kitchen, the staff is always super friendly. In a world where service can feel rushed or robotic, the team in Exeter actually seems happy to see you. They're fast, they're polite, and they make the whole experience feel like a classic neighborhood hangout. Pro Tip: If you're looking for that nostalgic, small-town vibe paired with food that actually lives up to the hype, this is the spot. #hotFRIES #mouthwateringburgers #smalltownfeel #ExeterCA #GatewaytotheSequoias

Interestingly there was only one employee working when we visited and I watched in amazement as she took orders and prepared everything. Our drinks took 25 minutes to complete and we were the first group in line. *Mochi Donut: there were seasonal flavors and the employee was kind enough to explain the different flavors as the names were a bit abstract. I opted for the spring donut which was white chocolate and matcha. The texture was the best I've tried. Perfectly bouncy in the center with a light exterior. It wasn't too oily nor sweet and the glaze was subtle. Despite the description, I couldn't really differentiate the white chocolate and matcha from a standard glaze. *Spring Fruit Tea: described as a passionfruit and rose tea. Disappointedly, neither flavor was prominent. The tea was steeped well but this was missing some brightness. *Creme Brulee: very sweet but fragrant. This was rich and milky with strong notes of burnt cream. However, we got less sugar for this and it was still too sweet. If there was an option to lower the sugar even more, I would opt for that. The milk based drinks tasted better than the fruit ones. If I was in a rush, I would stick to the donuts but drinks were pretty good if you don't mind the wait.
