I started at Ray & Dana's Inman Auto Care. He offered a free estimate. He sent a very comprehensive list of things that needed to be done on my car. I was very impressed with the meticulous detail and the photographs to show why I they were suggesting the fix. This report made me feel that this was an honest shop. And made me feel confortable enough to trust. It turned out that all rotors needed to be changed. I paid a bit more than what the dealer quoted but got both front and rear brakes overhauled and new brake fluids and wheels rotated and balanced. But most of all I got a clear understanding of why it had to be done and the feeling that they were trustworthy. Their customer service was excellent! I live a mile away and needed to be home for telework so he had someone drive me home and then pick me up to get the car. That was awesome and I really appreciated it. Also I called several times with questions and concerns. They politely answered all my questions. I asked them to align the wheels. They checked the alignment and told me it was not necessary. This sealed the deal. I trust this shop and will have them work on my car again.

They always give good advice and never try to up-sell you on work that you don't need. And when you do need work, their prices are very fair. Their oil changes are very quick too. I am usually out of there in a half hour. Today I came in because there was a burning smell coming from car. Even though they were busy, they had my car up on the lift in 15 minutes. It turned out I had a plastic bag that caught on an exhaust pipe underneath the chassis. After spending 30 minutes with my car and taking time out of their other work for the day, they didn't charge me anything.

I took my car in and was told "A couple of days and it should be fixed." I've currently been waiting 46 days for my repairs to be complete. I've spoken to them for 4 straight weeks and each time they say "Oh another week and it will be ready." First they said oh we have to order more parts. Okay fine. Then they said we have the parts but we are waiting on the insurance company. That got settled. Then they said another week and it will be ready. What happened I thought they had all the parts? Now they say 1 more week. They are either liars or incompetent. They continue to give me the run around on when my car will be ready. I DO NOT RECOMMEND them they will talk circles around you and drag their feet fixing your car.

Reynold called later to explain I need a new engine. The car was picked up and taken for a 2nd opinion. I showed my diagnostic receipt from Goodyear to the new mechanic to show what test were performed and the diagnostic results. My receipt did not show results, codes, tests performed, any misfires, etc, nothing. It simply stated the problem I told them and estimated a new engine replacement of $9,500.+.When I called, Manny confirmed I could pick up a detailed copy of the report. When I arrived, Reynold told me he didn't have the report because he accidentally deleted it, that it was human error, and that He was being honest and that He didn't even have to tell me that! In Aww, I demanded something to show my new mechanic and was provided a quote on what an estimate would be for a new engine and used one. This still didn't show what was specifically tested on my vehicle, what concluded a new engine was needed? I did not fuss with them and knew I'd immediately dispute this charge with my bank for services I paid for, but didn't receive. I WON the dispute with my bank and was credited a full return of my money for the nonsense, non-service. If you are a WOMAN, don't go in there alone! They will take advantage of you with a trustworthy smile! Don't go in there to get cheated, regardless male or female, BEWARE! And never pay with cash to avoid taxes! I have a van that had been to 3 different mechanics all diagnosing it as a head problem and recommending engine replacement. I called this shop, to get a quote on engine replacement for the van. I spoke with Bill who was very professional. I explained to him what was going on with the van and what the previous mechanics told me. He quickly provides a quote for me on a replacement engine. I had decided to go with them for the engine and spoke to Bill again about this. He asked me if I minded if they took another look at the van before he ordered the engine. I told him I was fine with that but I don't want to go down the diagnostic rabbit hole again, as I was already sitting in the den. I dropped the car off, then later that day he called me to say he was pretty sure they figured out what was going on with my van. He asked that I come pick up the van and drive it for a few days and see if the problem re-occurs. After some tentative test drives that evening and the next day. I decided to take it on a road trip. The van ran perfect. Bill and his team saved me thousands of dollars on and engine replacement. He could have easily just replaced the engine, charged me and moved on to the next customer. I am so impressed with the team at this place, I took my daughters Kia over for an oil change and have them look at the steering. They quickly diagnosed that issue and was able to resolve it the same day. If you are in need of complex repair/diagnostics or just an oil change, I would highly recommend you give them a try.
