B&T is always great to deal with! They saved our ass about 10 years ago, maybe more. Our system…read morecrapped out the day before the temps were supposed to drop 50 degrees with snow possible. The tech came out in the morning to troubleshoot and it turned into an autopsy. It was toast. After a brief discussion we decided to replace the whole system. The team showed up early in the morning and began the install. One team member had to drive to Charlotte to buy a major component. They brought in an electrician also. My driveway looked like a construction site for while. They got the new system up and running late that afternoon, just as the first snow flakes began to fall. They have been responsive to every call I've made to them and have maintained the system well. We had a circuit board fail about two years ago. B&T came right out a swapped it out. The system is still running strong. I have confidence in B&T. I will be their customer for life.

I PAID $570 FOR 2 LBS OF REFRIGERANT…read more I approved a quote for a $99 service call. I ended up paying $570 for 2 lbs of R-410A refrigerant. Service technician was good and professional, but after service inspection he showed me a quote for an additional $89 in labor and an estimate of $359 for 2 pounds of refrigerant there was also a gas/trip fee of $17 that I didn't notice. I approved the refrigerant, but I didn't realize I was approving $89 in additional labor. I also didn't realize I was approving $17 Gas/Trip-Truck/Administrative Fee I called and talked to owner, Aaron. He removed $17 fee, but refused to remove additional $89 labor fee. He threatened to put a lein on my house if I didn't pay. He also informed me there would be a 10% late fee if I didn't pay within 10 days, and threatened an additional 10% for every additional 10 days thereafter. I don't think that's legal, but I payed. BOTTOM LINE - I PAID $570 FOR 2 LBS OF REFRIGERANT Note: there's also a 4% service fee for credit cards Please do your own research, but this is what I get: For a qualified HVAC technician to supply and install 2 lbs of R‑410A refrigerant, a typical cost is: $100-$200 total for the refrigerant itself at common installed rates of $50-$100 per lb. Many HVAC companies also charge a service call/diagnostic fee, so the final invoice is often $150-$350+ depending on your location, time of service, and whether leak detection or repairs are needed.

Beware of using this company. Craft installed a furnace in…read moremy home 7 months ago. The furnace and installation had to be completely re-done due to safety of venting and code violations. I filed a complaint with the North Carolina State Board of Examiners of Plumbing, Heating and Fire Sprinkler Contractors at http://www.nclicensing.org/ The venting problems and code violations were discovered by a licensed HVAC repair company in Carrboro NC. I had them check my system after reading a news article in N&O about Craft in August 2017. The article raised suspicions about the quality of his character/ work. Expensive lesson learned.

My current unit is less than five years old and still under warranty, yet the compressor has already failed. I called for service six days ago and have since called three times asking to speak with the Service Manager. The labor estimate to replace the warranty-covered compressor was also extremely high and not consistent with market estimates. Because we urgently need air conditioning and are in a crazy heat way, I felt I had no choice but to approve it. The lack of communication, urgency, and consideration for a long-term customer has been very disappointing. Based on this experience, I do not feel that Maynor values its loyal customers.
