We pulled up during what felt like a historic flood but apparently might just be another day in Norfolk. We arrived a bit after lunch hour and were able to order right away. You make your choices at the counter and then take the food to a covered seating area. (Good thing it's covered since it was pouring) I'll start by mentioning that every staff member we encountered was awesome, they all seemed into what they were doing and delivered a great experience. I was also impressed by the operation. They had everything you would need displayed in the seating area. Sauces, utensils, napkins, to go containers, and bags. No need to awkwardly look for anything. Hard to get this far into a review without mentioning the outstanding food. It's some of the best BBQ I've had! We went with the professional platter and added burnt ends. I enjoyed each and every item but the standout to me was the brisket, I've never had a juicier more tender piece of brisket in my life! Ribs were done really well also, the burnt ends had tons of flavor, the sausage was delicious, and the pulled pork and chicken were winners as well. The fries were better than expected, the Mac and cheese was tasty, and the broccoli salad worked really well with all that meat! Truly a feast!

We had to put in the order at the counter first before grabbing a table in one of the shack style sitting areas. They had 7 different styles of meat and 9 different sides. They also sold snack, house made sauces and some merchandises of their brand. I ordered the 2 meat platter with beef brisket and chopped beef. Within few minutes of ordering, they brought the order out to the table. I liked the chopped beef but didn't like the brisket. Tried the burned end also that was good actually. The chicken nuggets I got for my daughter were the best. They were so tasty. The side of corn pudding was also excellent. The shack we sat in was really hot since there was no AC, just a normal fan was blowing air. It was self service so we got the utensils, soda and water. They had ketchup, vinegar, mustard, bbq and white sauces available in the condiment area. Overall it was a decent spot but bbq meat fell short in taste for me.

Looking for something different than the places close to the hotel on Yelp I stumbled across "Hazed" the name made me stop to see what they offered. Points for their customer service during these unprecedented times. When they got there we chatted a while. I discovered they were supposed to open a location on Virginia Beach before Covid 19 stalled them... but it's only a stall! Now let's talk about the food the brisket was good and the Hazed sauce made it even better. The Mexican corn was a nice change as well. The smoked wings where pippin hot and the rub used made them more flavorful, the Buffalo Haze sauce took them over the top. Even the Mac and cheese was on point. I ordered the banana pudding super rich and delish! Not disappointed at all! Kudos to Hazed and it's owners for good food and great customer service Blessings

The meat was tender and held juices. The portion they give you is a nice size, it's packaged well with napkins and untinsels and labeled. I love the amount of barbecue sauce they give you. Once we chilled the banana pudding it was very good as well. Overall I highly recommend supporting Hazed. I look forward to them opening up a spot! Support Black Owned Businesses!!
