I was referred by my dentist to Dr. Brian Hutto of Modesto Oral Surgery for a tooth extraction that…read moreI had dragged my feet to do. Dr. Hutto explained during my consultative visit that he thought that the extraction was the best choice for this tooth. I returned for the procedure in a a couple of weeks after receiving necessary medication for pain and anxiety for the procedure. I took the pill 45 minutes prior to the appointment and after excellent local anesthesia the tooth was removed without pain with my groggy cooperation. After the procedure was finished without pain and with good explanation during the surgery with a few painless sutures I was driven home by my patiently waiting wife with an antibiotic and pain pils and anti nausea pills. I had no post operative nausea and took only one pill for pain in about 3 hours after the operation. I'm so grateful to Dr. Hutto and his staff for their patience and explanations for this challenging (for me) procedure!

Worst dental experience of my life! After waking up from surgery, I looked in the mirror and…read morerealized my 4 teeth had been shipped badly. I was devastated. My beautiful smile looked like the movie, dumb and dumber after they were done with my front teeth. He refused to admit responsibility or apologize. However, he did try to work with me on resolving it because I was freaking out. They gave me an extremely small refund, not very much. He also did a terrible patch job trying to fix my front teeth. I later had to have that fixed by another dentist. They had to shave my teeth short to make them line up on the bottom and I lost a lot of length. He also accidentally yanked the implant he had just surgically put into my jaw out. He was so aggressive in putting in a temporary crown that he yanked the implant loose. I had to have the implant taken back out, then had to put bone graft in and let it heal for six months. I had to go to another doctor to start all over again. Finally a year, a ton of extra expense, ruined front teeth and smile and some PTSD, I have an implant. What he could've done was apologize and give a full refund.

A few months ago my top rear molar cracked, fast forward two weeks ago and it started aching…read moreextremely bad. Made an appointment, made a morning appointment and had to miss a day of work. They tell me the tooth needs to be pulled. They then say I would need to come back at 2:30pm to do it (yeah I noticed one of their staff carrying in like 10 pizzas, so basically come back after their pizza party right) The front desk tells me I am out of coverage for the year and that I would have to pay about $750 out of pocket, yeah I left. Been suffering in pain for the last two weeks, and missed another day of work when the pain was really severe. I have an appointment this Thursday at a different Dentist office and they told my wife that I have plenty of coverage to cover the cost. So yeah what the hell, pretty pissed about it.

So my husband went there for the first time about a month or two ago due to pain in his tooth, they…read moreweren't sure what was going on with his tooth so they referred him to a specialist being it was one of the crowns. The specialist did what they had to do, a root canal and told my husband specifically if he were to go back to Bright Now all that would be needed was the "buildup" not an additional crown or anything like that. The specialist also told him the price if he were to do it at the specialists office. Sure enough he goes to Bright Now and they want to do all the work, almost $500 worth of what was supposed to be around $200. My husband refused to sign off on the work and the receptionist said that he would have to see the dentist. More people show up, about 6 people go before him and he's there for 40 minutes. He walks out and about 10 minutes later they try to call him? This office is a joke, they just want to take all the money they can get! Before he even went in this last time he specifically told them NO CROWN, JUST BUILDUP, they said okay. From reading other reviews it sounds like people have had similar experiences and that's sad. No wonder people don't like going to the dentist can't wait for the automatic reply!!! One of the receptionist also made a comment the first time he was there when they gave him the breakdown of other service cost they wanted to do (over $2k by the way)- "why not? It's cheap." JOKE, horrible experiences.

My 10-year-old son was referred to Dr. Walls' office to further analyze and treat a major swelling…read moreon his gums. The doctor informed me that it was a cyst and advised us to have the baby tooth removed. I let the office know that my son had history of intense anxiety when it comes to dental treatments, and if they are able to work with him, we could try to proceed. To my surprise, they pushed for treatment the following day, which was Halloween, of all days, or the next appointment was going to be much further out. Weighing between the two options, I brought my son in the next morning even though it was a kid's holiday. They brought my son in to start the treatment and demanded that we provide the team with our steam deck. I don't know why the doctor was very fixated on the steam deck but I handed it over. They could not figure out how to use it properly, and at some point, brought me into the room to console my son who was in full tears. Even though my son was in complete distraught, the dental assistant could only provide me with reasons why a clinic full of adults could not figure out how to calmly treat a 10-year-old who has a history of dental anxiety and it somehow failed because the steam deck and/or my son was incompliant. Once my son had a chance to calm down at home, I asked him what happened and he let me know that the doctor had asked him irritably if he wanted to waste my money by not cooperating. At that point, my son felt even worse and broke down crying inconsolably. I was surprised that the doctor disappeared shortly after failing to treat my son and never made an attempt to communicate about what had happened. And his dental assistant felt comfortable shifting all blames on an anxious 10-year-old in full tears. And when I request for a full refund of the nitrous oxide that was never administered since the treatment could not even start because they tried to bully my son into submission, no response or refund has been provided to date. They incorrectly spell my son's name on the account despite the fact that his name was provided in the intake forms. We also received a second opinion that the swelling didn't appear to be a cyst but an extraction would still resolve whatever that issue is. I am under the impression that my son was not accurately diagnosed, and the tooth extraction was the default remedy. Therefore diagnosing my son with a cyst would eliminate further need to diagnose his gum swelling. Considering how poorly the team handled a child with anxiety and possibly misdiagnosing my son, I would not recommend this office to any kids who aren't comfortable with dental treatments. I do not find this office meeting professional or ethical standards. It was a waste of our time and money. And a lot more unnecessary trauma for an already anxious child.

Healed quickly and with very little soreness at all, which makes me feel as though it was a quality job. Been a month and there have been no follow up complications. Easy to work with. Had no trouble scheduling. They helped navigate my insurance. It wasn't a complicated procedure, but stuff like that is never fun for anyone. My kid was a little nervous at the thought of having this done, but she felt fine from start to finish - I believe because of the way they worked with her. It was a very supportive and easy-going experience from start to finish for both of us and as a parent I highly recommend Dr. Walls.

The office was very clean and the office staff was courteous and friendly. It's nice walking in and having people smile and greet you. Dr. Walls is very kind and has excellent interpersonal skills. I was in and out in about 30 minutes and was able to schedule an appointment for oral surgery with only a 3 week wait. The surgery scheduler was kind and gave me a great range of dates and times. The procedure was only about $430 out of pocket (my insurance covered 80%) which was way cheaper than any other place in town. One place wanted me to pay $2,000 out of pocket. I went in for my visit for my teeth extraction on Monday and was out in under an hour. Dr. Walls played my favorite music while I was getting the teeth removed and my meds were done by the time I arrived at the pharmacy. I highly recommend Dr. Walls if you have teeth that need to be removed or want implants.
