Taking a roadtrip and heading home with 4 kids 10,3,2,6 months and decided to stay here on a short notice. The price was good for my family and only place that had 2 beds and a pull out sofa to sleep us all. Place itself was just good for the night. No elevator so had to walk up some stairs which kinda sucked when you have to make multiple trips to the car and get your things. Room was ok but someone previously left some clothes behind in one of the drawers. They didn't have a crib but thankfully we had our wagon which was big enough for our baby to sleep in. read more

Long drive. 3 cars in the parking lot. East side faces highway 75 feet away with semi-trucks climbing a hill. So I asked the surly unfriendly desk dude if he could give me a room on the side away from traffic: "nope that's what you reserved." I would have paid to get a room on the other side but apparently he couldn't imagine that. The air conditioner sounds like a jet engine. Really an old unfriendly dark dive that will not be restful. Any place else in Monticello is better. Now I know why there are only 3 cars in the lot on a Friday evening! read more

Guys, its a Rodeway Inn - manage your expectations. A Rodeway Inn is meant for overnight stays at an affordable price. If you're expecting a lavish breakfast, a pool etc. you really need to look elsewhere. This is not the place for you if you're expecting Hilton or Marriott amenities for a cheap price. The rooms are clean, cozy, everything works, the doors lock, the tv has ample channels, the rooms are newly re done and are good enough for an overnight or two. All in all, I highly recommended for an easy, no frills stay. read more

A nightmare! This was incomparably the worst hotel experience of my life. I rented three rooms. Two of the family groups were delayed and couldn't check in until late. There was NO-ONE AT THE FRONT DESK when they tried to check in, and no-one responded to the number left at the front desk to call. I called the corporate offices who said they contacted the manager. The manager was supposed to contact me and never did. In the end, both of these families had to stay in a private home in the city, some sleeping on the floor, after they could find no other lodging. THEY DID NOT GET TO SLEEP IN THEIR HOTEL ROOMS!!! When they returned for the second day of rental during business hours, the two family groups were given keys to their rooms, and when one of them returned that night, the key let them into a ROOM THAT WAS ALREADY OCCUPIED. They went to the front desk for help, and NO-ONE WAS THERE, and no-one would answer the number left. For THE SECOND NIGHT they had to seek other lodging and borrow a local person's bed. read more

Basically basic. It's a clean room at a decent price. No bells or whistles but worth the price. We stayed a night as we drove cross country. The fixtures all look older and repaired but taken care of. There is a small microwave, small refrigerator and coffee machine in each room. The complimentary breakfast is basic. A choice of two cereals, two juices, black tea or coffee. There is a choice of White toast or a full sized white bagel with butter, jam , peanut butter Or cream cheese. There were mini banana muffins, one type of mini yogurt or you could make your own mini waffle. There was a small pool which was clean and a small reception area with a tv. I would stay here again. Tip: Monticello doesn't have any coffee shops. There is a gift shop that serves coffee and that opens at 8:00 am. If you have a particular coffee requirement you may want to bring your own to brew in your room. The closest coffee shop is approximately half an hour away. read more

Hotel charged us extra for having 4 people in a 2 bed room something that is very common. This up-charge was not mentioned earlier on at all. Totally not cool! Will not be coming back again thank goodness we are only staying here one night. read more

READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE STAYING HERE! The hotel seems cheap, but they upcharge you on the most random of things. At every hotel I have ever stayed at two queens can fit 2 per bed or they say only two per room rather than four online. On the website, it said nothing about there being a limit to a room and it's not even like we were bringing a disrespectful amount of people. They up-charged and threatened if we waited until the next morning they would charge us one hundred dollars. What the f word is happening. read more

When we checked in I asked for a quiet room in the back off the highway. The front near the highway was very road-noisy. I was told those rooms were all double bed and $10 higher. I suggested that we'd only use ONE bed, and besides, we were CHOICE members. The check in clerk simply looked at her monitor, and repeated it was $10 more. I also suggested that in Blanding where we had just come from, as CHOICE members gave us an UPGRADED room. Again just a bland non chalant look on her face. I opted for the front, but when we walked out of the lobby to the outside and greeted with that awful road noise, opted to change the room to the quiet back. We MADE SURE we used both beds and ALL the towels both nights so it would cost THEM more. Hotel managers/policies like this don't know how much it costs them with reviews like this. There appears to be a MUCH NICER hotel next to them (about 1/2 block to the south with nothing in between....though it is more expensive, too. The fridge is in a cabinet and the area around the fridge in the cabinet is very dirty. the Wi Fi is very intermittent, and breakfast the first morning was awful. We got there about 0850 (breakfast goes until 0930) and there one awful looking boiled egg, no sausage, 2 cups of yogurt, no coffee, and the a.m. clerk playing games on his tablet I asked if we could get some FOOD besides toast, and he went to the kitchen, popped some frozen sausage patties on a plate and started to nuke them while me made coffee. 8-10 minutes later we were able to get some sausage, no eggs, and hot coffee. The next morning we opted to not bother with breakfast as we didn't want to BOTHER them since they don't bother to keep up with a supply of food for the guests. Maybe if they'd spent their $20 extra for 2 nites stay, on food, we would be back, as we ARE going back to Monticello in the near and distant future as we love the area. But we won't stay there again. read more

There really isn't a whole lot of other places to stay in this part of Utah, unless you drive up to Moab. I was doing research out here for a few weeks and honestly was very excited to get out of the dirt and in a room. It's a standard hotel/motel, nothing fancy, but nice. Heads up, Monticello doesn't have much going for it. read more

This hotel appears nice at first glance, but in early july after a rainstorm the rooms shouldn't be 100 degrees. It took 6 hours to cool it down to a reasonable temperature (from 9 pm to 3 am) after turning on the AC full blast, running the ceiling fan for the whole time and eventually opening the window (with no screen) as wide as it would go. The room was clean, the bed spreads are typically hideous, the hallways were not stale smelling. Bonus, they have crazy non smoking policies. The breakfast was decent, typical continental stuff. Waffles, oatmeal, cereal, oranges and orange juice. The check in took literally 30 minutes because of the storm. They are satellite dependent for internet so don't count on their free wi fi being more than one bar. I should have kept going rather than stay in this dump read more

The rooms are clean but I'm very disappointed I stayed there for five days and they're using Covid as a reason to save money they won't do room service you have to go down and get a towel or shampoo they won't serve you breakfast all in the name of Covid and I know it's just because they're cheap and want to save a dime no prices have been lowered but you get less service!! read more

Stayed here for one night last week while on a road trip to Utah, Nevada and Arizona. It's comfortable and clean. The front desk lady could be friendlier. We were given the room at the end of the ground floor across from the stairs. The window looks out to the parking lot and the road. I don't like that people could just look in on us. read more

This place sucks. I'll walk you through my one night stay. We walked into the place and you immediately greeted with the most rancid rotten smell ever. I was actually gagging it was so bad and im not over exaggerating. We also saw the pool is. Closed. I went into my room and the top lock was falling off. I then checked out the bathroom because I hadn't taken a shower in a while and I needed to take one but there was brown mold around the top of the shower and throughout the whole hotel the walls were cracked and chipped paint and needed to be spackled. There was an inch of dust on the ceiling fan. The heater didn't work and I was freezing all night. The guy said they hadn't had breakfast In a year. They had no water and the coffe pot in the morning was the size of the palm of my hand. It wouldn't even make 2 cups of coffee if not even 1. Immediately started to break out into laughter when I saw it. The remotes were so old that you couldn't see what the buttons were. The guy at the front desk didn't know crap about anything and I had a horrible stay. Do not stay here please it is severely overpriced read more

Horrible service! Also, Apple Maps might prompt you to turn off the highway onto a dirt county road, I got stuck in snow about 3 miles out there before realizing it was taking me way out of the way, just keep going straight into Monticello. But don't stay here when you get there, very un-accommodating, will never consider Rodeway again. read more

We were coming up from AZ and my husband made the reservation while I was driving. My husband has the Choice account, but the card we were using was in MY name. This has NEVER been a problem in the past. However, at this Choice hotel they refused to credit our Choice account because the account and the credit card were not in the same name. The woman at the desk said that each hotel was allowed to use their discretion as to whether or not to credit a Choice account. When we got upset and said we'd just find another hotel, she threatened us with a cancellation fee. We travel several times a year and have NEVER had this happen before. To me, customer service is as important as the price/quality of the room, and this hotel FAILED HORRIBLY AT CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

I was there during that early July rainstorm as well, but I don't think they did badly and the rooms (or at least the room I stayed in) were comfortable temperature-wise. They did have a problem with the key cards, but that wasn't their fault. Their breakfasts are good and the indoor pool is pretty nice. They used to have a functioning hot tub but that apparently broke down, as there was a wooden board over top of it. All in all, though, this is probably the best place to stay in all of San Juan County. read more

Out of all the places I have stayed This is not one I would come back to. I think the thing that through it off was the service check-in. The older lady seemed very rude. There was nothing nice about her. Internet service was very slow, surprised I can post this. The guys working were not much better, though it was better to a point. The indoor pool, thought it was going to be nice, though indoor pool itself is nice this one was cold and not heated hardly at all. I hope that this does not ruin my experience of Roadway Inn's in other places but Super 8 hotels are better this this. read more

Free wifi and it works! Rented a room here for two days, the lobby was very welcoming and clean. the rooms are very clean & comfortable, the place looked brand new (faucets were polished) appliances looked like they've never been used(that kind of clean.) The staff was very friendly and professional. Recommended if you need a place to stay for the night, look no further! Becky, the hotel manager gave me a discount on my room, she was very friendly and the prices are competitive. AWESOME WAFFLES IN THE MORNING and there's a heated indoor pool in case the weather's not to great. Ask for Becky she was very nice. Thanks Becky you're the best! read more

May 29, 2016 I got in at 9:30PM May 29, 2016 from exploring Canyonlands National Park. The lady at the front desk was beyond rude. She was upset because she said she ran my credit card earlier in the day and it wouldn't work. She chastised me for my card not working. I told her I just used it to get gas 5 minutes earlier so it works. She then said she tried calling me and I told her I don't have reception in Canyonlands. She told me I need to answer the phone when someone calls and that I was lucky because she was trying to give my room away to someone else. I was dumbfounded by the rudeness. And then she kept going on about how upset she was. She ran my card, it worked. I asked if the front door was the only way in and she said that will be the only door I am to use in a real negative way. The attitude was unbelievable. And then she kept telling me how she was definitely giving my room way. "ok, lady, calm down". In the morning when I checked out I brought up my room keys to give to her (same lady working the desk), and I looked directly out here to say I was checking out. She didn't look up, didn't acknowledge me and just pointed to the counter indicating to just leave them there. I travel quite a bit and after this I really don't think I will ever stay at a Rodeway Inn if this is the kind of employees they hire. The walls in this location are very thin, you can hear your neighbors showering, hear their tv, hear their conversations. I'm just so upset about the attitude I received at the front desk for just trying to check in. Do not stay here. read more

HORRIBLE customer service at front desk trying to check in! Do NOT stay here! All websites about this Rodeway advertise "pet-friendly", not limited just to service dogs, with charge of $10/pet. Man at front desk working night shift would not allow us to check in our little 10lb dog though websites claim they are pet-friendly. Several websites about this Rodeway say they allow pets and not one site mentioned having to be a service pet. ***Even when I showed THEIR website to him about being pet-friendly and asked to speak to the manager, he said we could not speak to the manager because he would tell me the same thing(!!!) So mad he refused letting us speak to the manager! We had planned to stay here days in advance and were denied service for no reason and no proof that non-service, well behaved dogs could not stay. Nice way to treat a veteran, Rodeway. You won't ever have our business and hopefully not many others' again. CHANGE YOUR WEBSITE and don't FALSE ADVERTISE, otherwise allow customers to speak to the manager. HAPPILY taking our money to a local inn tonight instead. read more

Avoid at all costs!! After driving 10 hours with our two and four year old children, my wife arrived in the middle of the night only to realize she had somehow misplaced her ID during the trip and they turned her away very disrespectfully, for not having her ID. We made a reservation hours before and the low life motel employee showed zero regard or compassion for a mother stranded in a bad situation. He refused to let her speak with a manager and basically told her to screw off. Please, please don't give this business any money. I wish I could give zero stars read more
