However, the vibe is super relaxed, and I would definitely recommend it. It's priced accordingly to the people that live there. The shops are really pretty. The design is cute. The surface is good too. I can't really complain. I've never had a bad service from anywhere around there.

Stocked with plenty of food spots spanning from fast food to sit down eateries to donut shops and treats galore. You'll find a Hello Kitty Cafe & Store, Voodoo Donuts, Starbucks, Buca Di Beppo, Pink's Hot Dogs and ALOT more. Add the huge amount of gift shops and specialty shops and you cal spend hours here! My personal favorite spots are the Nintendo Store, Universal Studios gift shops, and the NBA Store. There's soooo much merch and tempting options. Come prepared to spend, yet practice self-control. Lots of the hubs in CityWalk are pricey, don't expect cheap finds, it's a tourist spot after all. Not in the mood for shopping? There's a movie theater smack in the middle of the action. My parents told me it's gotten a little run down as of late, but it's still open for reason. They have large screens and it's a Universal staple. CityWalk is mostly known as the gateway to Universal Studios Hollywood. You can walk right up to the Universal gates once you reach the end of CityWalk. Some people come in and out of the park to have lunch at CityWalk or an end-of-day dinner. I highly recommend both options. Overall, CityWalk is kept clean and the pavement is consistently power washed. Some shops have better service than others, but I've never really had a terrible experience at any of the stores or eateries. My only gripe would be the industrial food court area. It's a little dated. I've also noted construction, I really hope greed doesn't win and we get to keep CityWalk! I've been coming here since I was a kid.

SilverScreen Theater is a dream. Red. Green. Blue. Assorted buildings to guide you.... The Pacific Design Center is many things. It's shopping. It's art. It's culture. It's design. It's entertainment. PCD provides spaces for exhibitions, lectures, meetings, mixers, screenings, various special events, fashion shows and receptions among other engagements. I've been lucky enough to take in this building more than a couple of times, but most recently after several years and I appreciate it much more and the upgrades they've made. Parking can be maze like, but is relatively easy. We had a guide for rideshare drop offs and for navigating the parking lot ahead of time which made everything easy. After our event we had dinner on Melrose which gave time for the parking lot to quiet down with everyone leaving all at once. Staff for the event as well as for PCD were very helpful and personable. The main receptionist for the Green Building was off at 6pm on the dot like a lot of 9 to 6 folks, so inquire about information ahead of time.

It can be a little quiet depending on the time of day, but that also adds to the calm, almost gallery-like vibe. Parking and navigation can take a bit of patience the first time you visit, but once you get familiar with the layout, it's a pleasant place to spend some time. Overall, it's a visually impressive destination that feels different from the usual shopping or office complexes.

For coffee, there's Starbucks and Surferboy. For sandwiches, there's Corner Bakery and Mendocino Farms. There's also Saffron Indian Restaurant, George's Greek Grill, Salata, and Gourmet Wines & Spirits (a bar that also acts as a liquor store). The Cal Marketplace is usually frequented by businesspeople nearby (like me!) or guests of The Omni Hotel. There are also a lot of tourists who wander in but they skedaddle quickly as they're mostly lost/exploring downtown. It's bustling mornings and afternoons, but most of the eateries close early so it's a ghost town starting around 4PM-ish. Overall the marketplace is a good place to grab breakfast/lunch if you're nearby. There are endless covered/shaded tables all around, so you'll have no problem finding a seat rain or shine. Prices vary but it's DTLA so expect to pay a little more. The marketplace is very well-maintained and cleaned regularly so it's actually a really nice area. It's located at the top of the Angels Flight Stairs so extremely easy access to/from GCM.
