I have an infinitely positive amount of things to say about Azeez and his crew…read more We needed emergency repairs after our kitchen ceiling fell in and Azeez was able to diagnose the root cause of the leak over the phone. We live in an older home, and even though the crew encountered numerous obstacles/uncovered multiple problems while doing the repair (bad wiring/pvc pipes not glued together/toilets incorrectly installed), they didn't up their labor charge. The only thing that increased was material costs, which we were warned of in advance. The crew was courteous, punctual and professional. Azeez was so easy to communicate with and kept us up to date on schedules and timelines. The ceiling looks better than it did before, and we literally sleep better at night knowing all of our plumbing has been professionally repaired. This old house needs a lot of work, and we'll be contacting BJGE for most of it.

He took care of the plumbing and electrical work,…read moreand also the dryer's exterior vent, drywall repair, re-painting, etc. The work and finish are of very high quality and we had zero problems throughout the project. Martin turned up when he said he would, worked thoroughly, and took care of everything. Even did a great job color-matching our paint and cleaning up after the work was complete. While the work was ongoing, I broke a paving slab in our yard, revealing a hollow space under our path. Martin repaired this for us with no advanced notice and did a great job. The project came in at the estimated cost, which was very reasonable. Highly recommended.

We contracted Martin to do the large scale job of renovating our home on Capitol Hill, DC. Martin was extremely unprofessional, constantly missing deadlines, asking for large amounts of extra money, working extremely slow and was unreachable for the entire month of December, not doing any work on the home and refusing to answer calls or texts. Martin also keeps a deplorable job site, and these conditions permanently damaged expensive finishes in our home, which must now be replaced (see photos of permanent wood stain spilled on marble counter and tile floor, as well as paint/compound on new hardwood floors). After another two weeks of no work being done and Martin avoiding phone calls, We finally decided to take the large financial loss, terminate his contract via text (which he never responded to) and hire a new contractor to finish the work he did not complete. The attached photos of the condition he left our house in speak for themselves.

We highly recommend Gutierrez and will certainly call on them for future projects!

Javier was very professional and friendly. His crew started the job within 2-3 weeks after our first contact. They started on a Wed. and finished by Sat. afternoon of the same week. They replaced all of the pipes, shut off valves and two outside faucets. We always had water in at least one bathroom shower and sink throughout the repair. They also replaced all of the drywall and made the walls 'paint ready' for us, as we requested. I read reviews online before hiring Javier and saw many complaints about contractors who'd left homes messy and disrupted. Javier's crew did a good job of protecting our belongings and cleaning up after themselves as well. Excellent job with our repair!

We purchased Kohler rain shower plus hand-held and tub mechanism with all necessary valves from Fergussons. We kept our reclining Kohler tub with side st.steele handles. We needed to tear out and replace all prior tiles due to leak, and wet uninsulated walls around tub. Mr. Buendia and his team planned out the job, gave us a reasonable estimate, told us from when to when the job was going to be done, emailed us job proposal, we agreed and signed contract, and the the job started. They covered floors and stairs to prevent any damage, while we made sure they had access to an empty bathroom. In the middle of job we discovered that we needed to reinstall 'all walls, which we did not know when we started. Mr. Buendia and I went to the Tile store on Eisenhower Ave., and we chose together a tile that would fit and look great, and align with remaining ceramic floor. The team worked in coordinated way, and the end result is truly terrific! We are very satisfied and very much recommend Mr. Buendia's team to others. Prior to this job we had also hired Mr. Buendia for other jobs, redoing siding and trim on a townhouse, replacing basement foor with tile, replacing ceiling tiles with a true ceiling, painting, installing storm doors. Each time, we always received work proposal, reasonable cost estimate, and the work has always been excellent. RB Contractors, or Mr. Buendia and his team have always delivered an excellent, professional job. We absolutely recommend them!

Greg Marks, one of the owners, walked us through what was and wasn't possible with the City of Alexandria's zoning requirements, and explained every step clearly -- a real relief for our first big construction project. His brother Drew Marks, our project manager, visited the site daily, kept everything on schedule, and always kept us in the loop. He responded quickly to every question, and his patience was remarkable. The crew was respectful and left the worksite tidy every day. Now that it's finished, we couldn't be happier. The ADU is beautiful and incredibly functional, and details like the custom cabinetry and thoughtful layout show the care they put into their work. If you're looking for a team that truly cares about their clients and delivers quality, Greg and his crew are the way to go.

In our experience, Marks-Woods Construction LLC are dangerous and dishonest contractors…read more I won't bury the lede: Marks-Woods lit our house on fire and abandoned it to burn, cut a live 240 volt wire and left it exposed in our yard where children play, mis-wired an outlet so that it threw sparks and molten copper onto our attic insulation, and allowed a gas leak to persist in our occupied house for at least a month. They exceeded their three-month contracted timeline by five months and left the project incomplete. If those facts are not enough to convince you of their unsuitability to earn your business, please continue reading. The red flags came early and often: Marks-Woods demanded a HUGE down payment to begin work, which began later than promised and faced delays from the outset. As other reviewers have noted, workers would show up infrequently (initially less than 60% of the time) and do very little work (for example, we caught them napping in our garage, watching videos, and playing with paper airplanes). Marks-Woods' work failed and continues to fail Fairfax County inspections (our deck for example, was built at great expense and not even remotely to code) and of hit-or-miss quality (we could not confirm some of their subcontractors' licenses either). They wasted time and resources via sloppy workmanship (e.g., leaky roof, broken tiles, unlevel floors), failing to follow building plans correctly, and misordering supplies etc. etc. Marks-Woods' communication was erratic and inaccurate regarding scheduling, work to be done, work completed, and invoicing. You can verify in other reviews (note the lack of historical ones on Google: Marks-Woods' business profile suspiciously disappeared for a while) and public court records that they allegedly pull financial shenanigans such as failing to pay their creditors and subcontractors. For our project, they unilaterally (and likely illegally) demanded changes in our payment terms in violation of the contract and created false invoices requesting payment multiple times for the same line items while sprinkling payments among various unrelated line items to help their "cash flow". I could continue our litany of documented complaints ad nauseum and appreciate your reading this far. My only goal is to spare other homeowners from the financial and emotional trauma our family suffered at the hands of Marks-Woods; avoid them: they do not deserve your or anyone else's business.
