I've known and experienced her true talent for two years now. Unless she retires, I do not foresee my going to anyone else... Ever again. My first encounter with Val, I tripped across her website (her befores and afters are phenomenal!) and through prompt emails and setting up an appt, she showed up at my location and I entrusted her to do what she does best: bombshell transformations with sultry smokey eyes and effortlessly gorgeous hairstyles. Professional makeup artists vary in price from $100-$400 hair & makeup (about 2-3hrs). In my experiences, Val's rates can vary from $150-$350 w/gratuity depending on my location, her traveling to me or my going to her, my hairstyle curly/straight, air brush/regular foundation, etc. To request Val though, it is worth EVERY bit. She always takes such meticulous care in her work and I always receive compliments, at every turn, seems like. Unlike previous experiences, I never regret how much was spent to look and feel so confident as I do after her makeovers. I have had the absolute BEST experiences with makeup and hairstyles thanks to Val! Being Asian, it has always been so difficult to find an artist that made me truly feel as gorgeous and bombshell as the models I once admired on "Maxim," for example. I only use air brush (more costly, but very much worth it). There are just not enough words of praise that I could share except that I hope other every day women like myself can share in a makeover experience(s) as I have, now that I have revealed my glam "secret. " I may not be a hot rod magazine model, but with the right duds and Val, I can sure feel like one for a day/evening out. Side note: When I'm out and about, I'm a no-fuss girl and I rarely, if ever, touch up. From the look of my photos with friends after Val's work, my makeup and hair holds up so well! She arms me with a few lipglosses, blotters/powder fixes and I'm set. I have spent hundreds with trial and tests with other makeup artists from Hollywood to Vegas, and the end result is always my returning (and often begging) to Val that I need her expert talent! Ok, so it is slightly exaggerated that I beg, but you know what I mean. Her resume is very impressive, but don't let that intimidate you in seeing her. She is one of the most beautiful and down-to-earth young ladies you will ever meet and truly loves her work.

I just had my engagement makeup/hair done by Christina (Little White Book Stylists), and I'm SO…read moreglad I was able to find her!! We started the wedding planning process a bit late... (4 months to plan everything) so I was a bit nervous about finding a good hair/makeup artist for myself and the bridal party for our May wedding, since I've heard the good ones are booked anywhere from 6-10 months in advance. After contacting many, many hair and makeup artists from LA and Orange County and getting responses along the lines of "lulz no we're booked", I was panicking. That's when I received my e-mail from Christina :) She informed me that both she and her lead hairstylist (Mitzi) are available for our wedding date. I was beyond excited because her portfolio was one of the ones that stood out to me. I also inquired about having my engagement hair/makeup done with her, and she offered a $25 discount for the engagement session if I ended up booking my wedding with her (which I totally did.) We exchanged several e-mails in the brief 3-4 days before the engagement session, going over my preferences for hair/makeup. Day of: We scheduled the engagement hair/makeup session for a Friday morning. Overestimating traffic delays, I arrived at her studio about 15-20 minutes early, but Christina was already there. Another stylist (for my hair) arrived shortly after and we we were actually able to start earlier than our scheduled time. The hair/makeup session: I don't wear makeup, nor do I curl or style my hair (lazy :D). I honestly had no idea what to expect - I just told Christina that I wanted a very natural look in terms of makeup, but didn't even know what I wanted for myself since I'd never worn makeup before. But somehow, she was able to give me exactly what I wanted without me thinking it was "too much." Even the lip color she mixed for me perfectly amplified my natural lip color. The hairstylist also did a great job, giving me beautiful loose curls that stayed the entire day, despite me running through the park doing crazy stuff for the engagement photos :) Needless to say, I was impressed. I booked her for my wedding on the spot and I can't wait to see how Christina and her stylists transform my bridesmaids and myself for the wedding day :D

Not only was Christina able to replicate the stunning look, but she was able to adjust the look to work with my own facial features. Throughout the trial, Christina was kind, knowledgeable, patient and VERY detailed. She created a comfortable environment and took the time to explain every make up step. **Wedding Day: Christina and her assistants were able to complete 7 bridesmaids, 1 mother of the bride and myself on time for my early 1:30pm ceremony. I had a stressful morning and while working on my make up, Christina was able to sense it. She was constantly trying to cheer me up and make sure I was comfortable. Prior to the wedding I wasn't taking good care of my skin, but yet Christina was able to make my skin look flawless and glowing. While working on my make up Christina noticed my curls were becoming loose, although she wasn't my hired hairstylist, she was so sweet to worry about my hair and volunteered to retouch it. That's the type of artist Christina is kind, intuitive, and genuinely has the client's best interest at heart. Although I'm no longer a bride, I'll definitely be hiring Christina for every future events. I'm dying to have her create her stunning smokey eye look on me again! =)
