I've been going to Roc's for about 25 years. Bobby, the owner, is a talented & friendly guy who is basically the mayor of Marlboro - he knows everyone! Steve knows how to cut my hair they way I want it. I highly recommend Roc's. read more

I just had a great experience with Roc's! My hairdresser, Celeste, was super friendly and informative. She knows what she is doing and tailored the experience in a very personal way for me. You can tell that they care about the people coming in, and they aren't just trying to make a quick buck. I, also, went to Roc's for high school prom and they did a great job styling my hair. I would highly recommend Roc's! read more

I've been going to ROCs for years for my haircuts and eyebrow waxes and have always had a positive experience. No matter who I'm with, all the staff does a great job, and I've never had a bad experience. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON! THEY KICKED ME AND MY HUSBAND OUT BECAUSE WE ASKED THEM TO CLEAN THEIR FILTHY CHAIRS, AND WEAR A MASK. My husband and I had an appt. with two of the colorists, Andrea and Joanne, and due to having a medical condition, we asked our colorists to wear a mask. Most people will and Andrea did with no problem, but Joanne went crazy and then went crying to Roc and he told us to leave. In addition to the above madness, Joanne's chair was the most filthy rotten chair with hair all over the place and some color left over from the previous person. She would not clean it, and again freaked out since I offered to do it. I didn't want to sit in someone else's hair getting all over me, and ruining my outfit with color on the seat. She's a nut job. We never had such a bizarre experience and the owner and Joanne were so weird and crazy since they lost money over having to wear a mask, and clean one chair. Who does that in this day and age? They did us a huge favor since we found a wonderful salon who has no problem wearing a mask, and they clean their chairs from the previous clients mess. read more

I had a partial highlight done this week by Kellie M. First of all she was lovely! I enjoyed chatting with her on and off throughout my treatment. Secondly she listened to my ideas and used her expertise to choose the right coloring for me. I love what she did and I left there feeling absolutely beautiful! read more

I just started coming here a couple months ago. I have loved my hair both times I went in. Celeste does an amazing job and everyone in the salon is so nice. The first time I came in a had a relaxed updo which came out awesome and my curls lasted from 1pm until I went to bed at 1am!! The second time I got a cut, color, and eye brow wax. The next day at work everyone loved my hair and couldn't get over how awesome it looked! I definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area. The prices are extremely reasonable!! And I highly recommend Celeste!! read more

Went with the BFF because this is where she goes with her son, so I knew she had Andrea and I soo wanted to have Andrea, but she wasnt there... So my son is new to haircuts & lets just say not the best cooperator when it comes to hair cuts and as expected screamed the whole time... I get that he was bad & she did as good as she could have, but she wasnt overly nice... Im not acting like she had to coddle & baby him but maybe try to pacify him some... I took a shot, but I guess its back to Snip Its we go so he can eat Lolli-pops and be distracted! read more

Bob is great. Not only does a nice job cutting your hair but also carries on a friendly conversation.

I moved here to this town 2 1/2 years ago I travel 20 miles back to my hometown to get a haircut I decided to try this place and I can honestly tell you I am very pleased with the cut I got today I came home my husband commented On my hairHe told me to continue going to this place and I will the woman that cut my hair her name was ElaineThank you so much read more

I walked in and was a bit suspicious of the rave Yelp reviews. (Note, don't judge a book by it's cover!). I was a bit early so took a seat in the waiting area. The owner came over and introducted himself, asked what I wanted done and then introduced me to my stylist. Seriously? I've had my hair cut on Newbury Street and never received more than a glance by anybody else. I was having a one process color and cut. Marcia asked me what color i was look for, reviewed some choices because was a blend of several kinds of browns. Chatted about what I wanted as far as a hair cut. I have thick, fine hair with a natural wave. I absolutely cannot stand a lot of product. These really don't mix. Finally a low maintence cut that doesn't scream 'lazy' and a great color. Look, this isn't a shi-shi spa with a coffee bar. if you want a great hair cut, at a great price, this is the place for you. they've been in business for over 20 years for a reason. the do a great job with a wide variety of clients. i'll be back. the only downside is that it's cash / check only. read more

I have been going there for almost 15 years and every single time I am extremely happy with the end results. Are usually get my haircut and sometimes I get highlights in they are truly amazing and it makes you feel like you are at home! read more

I stopped into Roc's today after hearing about them from a colleague at work and scanning the Yelp reviews. I can't say enough great things about this shop. First of all, $20 for a Men's cut is a great deal--I'm coming from LA and my barber out there charges me nearly $30 for a cut of similar quality. Josh was my stylist and he was extremely personable. We connected over our dogs, our daughters, and he gave me a lot of input since I'm new to the area. I appreciated the fact that this is a family-owned and operated business, with the owner's son just next door at the jewelry store and his daughter working upstairs. If you want a great cut at a great price, with really nice customer service, look no further. Roc's is where I will continue to return after I officially move here to MA in December--so happy I stopped in today. Oh, and my hair looks great ;) read more

My first visit to Roc's was two months ago. I hadn't had a proper cut and color in several months, following a bad experience at another Marlborough salon. I called to make an appointment and Bobby, the owner, told me to come right in the next evening and they would take care of me. Upon arriving, I met Bobby and he introduced me to the stylist, Debbie. Debbie listened to what I was looking for and gave me a basic trim and did a beautiful job on the color. After a not so great experience at another salon, I will definitely be returning to Roc's for my future hair care needs! read more

I'm on a quest for a new barber. Many recommendations for Roc's (both Bob & Steve). Walked in today, great experience!!

Roc's is AWESOME. Staff are friendly. The Owner is very nice. Celeste is wonderful! I've had many hairstyles over the years and even though I don't live local anymore ... I still make the trip back. It's well worth it. Stay strong - stay safe. Glad you were able to reopen. read more

Roc's is awesome bob is the funniest and nicest guy great atmosphere and they really care about there customers I highly recommend it

I have been coming to Roc's for over 25 years. Every 3 weeks I get a cut and color. The owner Bob knows just about every person that walks thru the door. He greets them by name, inquires about their mom, dad, kids, grandparents! He remembers everyone! Extremely professional & friendly staff. They use great products and you cannot get a better value anywhere. Celeste does an awesome job with cuts but is just amazing with color. It's family owned and run by Bob and his daughter Heather but they make everyone feel like family! Don't expect a state of the art salon but be amazed at the high end results. read more

I walked in and just wanted to talk to someone about the possibility of dyeing my hair for the first time. Elaine sat me down and once she talked to me about how the color needs to accent the color of my eyes I was sold. Then she said she could do it right then. What?! I just jumped right in(very unlike me). She was building her Monday clientele which is why she had time for me, I was in luck! She was amazing and so friendly. She kept the conversation flowing but was not super chatty. She answered all of my questions with full knowledge of how to take care of my new hair. The cut was amazing (7inches!) and the color just what I wanted. The only downside is it's cash only but there is an atm there. That may be how they are able to make it so affordable! She even gave me the lower price since she cut so much hair off. I will certainly be going back to Elaine, it was clear customers who go there are loyal and have been going for a long time. One more thing: the place is spotless! read more

I moved to Marlborough in April and heard raving reviews about Roc's. I made an appointment to get a wash, cut and blow dry. I had a stylist named Kellie M. I will say she was excellent and I have gone to her about every six weeks and sometimes if I am going out. The salon is a full service salon and everyone is so friendly! Unlike salons I used to go to in Framingham. Prices are very reasonable and location is fabulous...I have no idea how many stylists they have however the place is huge...Go and find out for yourself....I am sure you will be as pleased as I am... read more

I must say that Steve at Roc's has been the most skilled barber I have ever had, and I've had many. He simply knows how to cut hair. If you're a man in need of a clean looking haircut, call Roc's and ask for Steve. Steve Roc(k)s! read more

Super nice and gave a trim to my 4 yr old - 8 dollars. True, when you step in you are not sure if you are in a barber shop or who to check in with, but folks are right there and quickly get you settled. read more

So I just went down to R.O.C.'s for a men's haircut and saw Steve. This was the best haircut I've ever had! Steve was very friendly quick and professional. These guys and gals at R.O.C.'s know how to cut hair, plus they were very friendly and they are true professionals. The price is right at about $16.00 hair cut (for men) I was happy to tip Steve for the excellent job he did. I highly recommend this place. read more

Love this place. Have been coming here for years and seeing Ned. Great haircuts for a great price and great people.

LOVE my stylist, Sheryl! She is awesome - very friendly, outgoing, and can give one heck of a haircut! I highly recommend!

As a male with long hair it is really hard to find a barber who wont absolutely butcher your hair. Roc's was the perfect salon for me. As soon as i called to book an appointment, they were able to get me in within a half hour. When asked for someone who could cut long hair on men they called over one of their female barbers Trish. Trish was fantastic, she was kind, fun, and really lovely to be around. She cut my hair better than I even planned for it to be cut and all for only $16. It was honestly one of the best haircuts I have ever had. I would reccomend this place to anyone, male or female, with any kind of hair. If Roc's can't do it, nobody can. read more

I've been going to Cheryl for almost a year now. I'm in love with what she does to my hair! I get foils every time and every time I go in, she knows exactly what I'm talking about because she listens to what I say. It comes out great every time! I fully trust her skills. Which takes a lot because like I said I get foils and I'm extremely picky about how the Blonde comes out. The price is a great bonus! With a generous (more than 20%) tip, I still pay under $150!!! I have also gotten my eyebrows waxed by Cheryl...again, she listens, so they come out perfect! exactly how I want them. :) read more

My stylist, Kelli Kane at Roc's Hair Salon in Marlborough, MA is the best hair dresser I have ever had! She is an extremely talented and gifted hair stylist. She has a professional and courteous demeanor. She is always flexible with scheduling in order to meet my needs. I highly recommend Kelli for anyone looking for someone to give a flattering, affordable cut and/or color. Roc's Hair Salon is by far the best salon in the MetroWest area. All of the staff are delightful and the prices are very affordable. read more

I gave Roc's only two stars. While I know the place is 100 years old, it could have been kept a little (ALOT) cleaner. There was hair in every crack and it looked as though it hadn't been moped in weeks. The hairdresser went on and on about her own personal problems while she cut my hair. While the cut was OK.. it wasn't the best I've had in the area and the price was way more than I normally pay for a simple cut at $25. My search for a hairstylist will continue. read more

Great service will recommend to all my friends. Also, you can't beat looking good after your done at Roc's

I have been going to this place for years. I am finally going to give them a review. Well, I'm still going to them. I love this place. For years, they never let me down. When I was looking for a place to get my hair done on a Saturday morning, all of my regular places were booked solid. Being a mixed race lady I am hesitant to go to an all white salon, so I called ahead to make sure they have experience with my very curly beautiful hair. The woman who helped me on the phone was very nice and assured me they have stylists with ethnic hair experience, and told me to come in. When I arrived the owner showed me where to go and the woman (who I really don't want to name, because I think she was given a shitty hand in the first place, since she obviously did not have experience with mixed hair) asked me what I'd like to be done. I told her and she insisted that I needed a conditioning treatment (which I did not, my hair very soft and I use different oils and conditioners every day). All I wanted was a blow dry to make it straight. To make a long story short she did an awful job. My hair was frizzy, wild and dry. Not to mention while she insisted on using a curling iron (to straighten my hair???!) she gave me an awful burn that hurt for three days after and gave me a blister on my ear. I told her how to blow dry my hair, using a big barrel brush you start at the root and pull hard while you are using the blow dryer and bring it down to the tip. She thought it would be better if she blow dried it like you do with white hair, not pulling hard and just barely putting heat on it. Doing mixed hair is much different that what she is use to, so I gave her a good tip, but I will not be returning. My favorite salon in the Marlborough area is a Hispanic/Brazillian salon on Lincoln St called Bella Hair design. I would not recommend going here if you are black/mixed race. read more

I came in for a haircut, told the hair dresser exactly what i want. She showed me a picture of a haircut and it was exactly what i wanted, and then she faced me towards the window (very scary not being able to watch in the mirror and making sure things are looking good) and the first snip she made was already a mistake, cutting WAY shorter than i asked her to. I love changing my hair, and trying new styles so i didnt think much of it. Usually i can make any haircut look nice. I asked for a short to long bob. Which i have had a million times. I had grown out my hair quite a bit and told her to leave the lengths of the front the same, and just cut the back to make it short and angle it a bit on the sides. She cut the length off the front of my hair ABOVE MY CHIN. When she turned me around and revealed my hair, i was in shock. Afraid to offend her, i kept quiet and payed her and got to the car and immediately started crying. I had to buy a set of extensions to wear in the fronts of my head because she cut so short. It doesnt help that the haircut is SO sloppy. My mom was so angry, she decided to call and complain. The owner and hair dresser were very rude and sarcastic. Ive gotten my haircut about four times there, each time it being not good but something i could style and get away with. But this was TERRIBLE. I will never return back, and i will never recommend them to any of my friends or family. I have gotten quite a few people to go there, who get very expensive services done, who were also not pleased at all. If they were sorry about not giving me what i wanted and apologized instead of being assholes and saying "do you want to come in and get it cut shorter??" I would have let it go. But seriously? Never again. read more
