I highly recommend the Greek potatoes as a side. They're so lemon-y and buttery, and come as a large portion. I also really love the chicken kebab sandwich and I'm always so surprised how quickly they put it all together. The fresh pita bread tears apart in beautiful layers, the vegetables are rich with flavor, and the chicken is so juicy and well seasoned. I literally can't help but finish my entire plate when I order from here. The kebab sandwich also comes with a generous service of Tzatziki which balances out all of the rich grilled flavors. This is an area gem and I wish I had known about it earlier!

Nikkos offers a wide variety of food, not just Greek. Burgers, dogs, Italian beef, etc. I know from experience both Mediterranean and Middle Eastern places generally offer very good burgers, but I haven't personally tried Nikkos'. I must try them soon. What I *have* tried are Italian beef, gyro, and chicken, both in plate and sandwich forms. Gyro and chicken dishes did not disappoint. Their chicken kebab plate is my daughter's new go-to Greek dish, and I can personally attest to their gyro and tzatziki sauce. Super legit. Also, French fries are good. I've tried their Italian beef now twice, but both times I thought they didn't do a very good job getting rid of beef taint. Gravy was okay; nothing special. I'd personally put them right at the same level as Portillo's. It's got a very old-school diner feel to the place. Menus are displayed with pictures over the counter, making it super easy to read and order. As far as friendliness of the cashier goes, I'd rate them 3 of 5. I was greeted and tended by a very nice lady once, but it was two grumpy dudes the other time who were all business and no play. Nothing wrong with their work ethics or order accuracy or anything. They were just unpleasant. Just so I'm clear, these encounters don't usually deter my star ratings. More so an FYI. All in all, I'm happy with my Greek plates at Nikkos. I'll probably go back to try rest of the other menu items like shish kebab or even a burger.

A side of fries and a drink. Drinks are self-serve from the fountain, so I filled my cup and grabbed a table. Only a few minutes later, I had my order. The steak was great.. Plenty of cheese and onion, and on a nice, chewy roll. Look, it's a cheesesteak. Just a darned good, basic cheesesteak. I am not going to attempt to wax poetic about some time in Philly when such and such happened before a Dead Milkmen show, or something. The fries were solid as well. Medium cut and cooked to have a good mix of crispy fries mixed in. They also have a house-made hot sauce that is pretty darned good on the sandwich. If you want an unpretentious meal and are short on time, this is a great option. Good food, fast service and reasonably priced. Give them a try. If you're not a snob, you're gonna like it.

When I think of Franks For The Memories, I think of some of the best wings I've ever had. This was…read morethe first place where I truly experienced top tier wings, and funny enough, it all started with one random wing back in high school. I remember being at lunch one day when I ran into one of my friend's sisters and some of her friends. They had wings, and since the last time I checked our school definitely didn't sell wings, I jokingly asked what they were eating. They told me where they were from and let me try one. After I finished that wing, I immediately wanted another. I couldn't just ask for one, so instead I basically interrogated them. What's the name of the place? Where is it? How far away? To my surprise, Franks was only about 10 minutes away. The funny part is I didn't actually get to truly experience Franks until after high school. I had been a fan of wings for years, but I didn't really know what a great wing was yet. Looking back, I didn't realize how lucky I was that Franks was one of my first introductions to genuinely great wings. Fast forward about 15 years and I'm still eating them. I usually get Franks every two or three months, and recently I realized it had been a while. My order almost never changes. Two pounds of mild and two pounds of medium. I always order them to go, and even after the ride home, they still taste fresh and juicy. I usually start with the medium, and that first bite always reminds me why I keep coming back. You bite into tender, juicy meat followed by that crisp exterior and Buffalo sauce. Everything complements each other perfectly. You have tender chicken, crunch on the outside and sauce covering the entire wing. These aren't wings where you get one great bite followed by a section with barely any sauce. They are saucy, and I mean saucy. The medium sauce is probably my favorite. It has that peppery Buffalo flavor with a noticeable acidic tang and enough heat to make itself known. The acidity gives it a sharp Buffalo bite while the pepper and heat follow right behind it. Mix that with the juicy chicken and crispy exterior and it's a beautiful combination. Then you have the mild. The mild has a similar flavor, but the buttery taste comes through more. It's smoother and richer without losing what makes the sauce good. Sometimes the mild and medium sauces mix together, and those might be some of the best bites. You get the buttery richness from the mild mixed with the peppery, acidic kick and heat from the medium. It just works. That's what I love about these wings. They look simple. You might look at them and think you know exactly what you're about to get. Then you bite into one and realize there is nothing simple about the flavor. When I eat these wings, I'm genuinely at peace. I'll go out with cousins or friends, talk, joke around and enjoy the food together. With Franks, it doesn't matter. Eating these wings is an experience on its own. Once I start, I'm in my own little world enjoying every bite. The only bad part is knowing eventually I'm going to run out. I always make sure I have some left for the next day. If something tastes this good, why experience it only once when I can wake up knowing I still have Franks waiting for me? What might impress me most is the consistency. I've been eating these wings for around 15 years, and whether I think back five years, 10 years or 15 years, I know what I'm getting when I order Franks. I honestly can't remember a time when I finished their wings and walked away disappointed. After all these years, they still stand tall. They're juicy, tender, crispy, loaded with sauce and packed with flavor. The medium brings that peppery heat and acidic tang, while the mild brings that buttery richness. Are they the best wings I've ever had? They might be. These wings don't kid around.

From the outside of the building you can't really tell what is inside. The windows are all darkened and the entrance is set off from the dining side. But once inside, I weaved through the maze of tables to get to a booth on the other side. This was the quintessential family diner. Not fancy by any means, just an atmosphere where having a conversation with another table (which I did) is not unusual or extraordinary. The food was hot. The ham and cheese omelette was nothing special, it was a rolled omelette which I appreciate. The hash browns were fresh. When I say fresh, I suspect they actually shredded the potatoes that morning. They didn't have that frozen from a bag flavor. The one thing I wish they did, was shrink the menu. Choice fatigue made me choose my own standby this time. This menu is huge, I'd say it gives Cheesecake Factory a run for the money with menu size. Overall though, this is a place that you could easily make "your place" for local food spots.
