The big guy that works here was rude, belittling and not helpful when I came here looking at items for sale. After looking at items for about 10 minutes he exclaimed " ARE YOU GOING TO BUY ANYTHING ???? ". Feeling unwelcome and pressured I left. Won't be coming back to this place. Brought my new laptop here to get a loan. First thing out of the employees mouth was " Where did you steal that from ? " At first, I thought it was a joke but then he asked me for the purchase receipt for it which I did not have. I was even dressed in my work uniform and looked very professional at the time. Realizing the employee wasn't joking, I grabbed my laptop and left being very offended by this. I went to Parletts instead where I was treated with kindness and respect and welcomed into their business. How this place stays in business is beyond me. I would love to give this place a minus 5 stars! I need to buy my wife a Christmas gift so I came to Rocky's pawn to pawn some items. My wife and I have money in the bank but if I take money out to buy her a gift she'll be asking to see where we spent it on. So decided to pawn stuff. I want to get her a perfume, Jadore from Christian Dior. $75 Omg! Wrong place to go! He the owner is so selfish, has a degrading look, makes you feel like if you really need him to survive! I feel sorry for the people that do need him and are humiliated by him and his place. I denied his services just for his personality and his low ball offer! He made me feel like crap! And I'm a guy with high self esteem and confidence. So much for that! I had to yell to my confidence and self esteem to get in the car so we can leave! I have been a customer (and "pawn-er") to Rockys Pawn in Beaumont for about 5 years. Pawn shops are known for their reputation to have the upper hand and screw a customer over; well not here! The level of customer service and human empathy alone is far beyond society's standards. I have spoken with Patrick most of my time as a customer here and every time he is amazing! The folks there have always been very helpful and professional with every purchase I've made. The owner Patrick has on many occasions given me a discount when asked and is very adept at making good deals happen ! Every time I need a new tool I check here first. AWESOME PLACE!! These guys have always shown me and my father (a retired l.a. county cop) a great deal of respect. My father before rockys would not go to pawn shops because of how he was treated when being in them and then i got him to go to rockys one day when we needed some cash and the owner and other employee mike were so helpful and cool with us and now we go in and are greeted by name and my father is a regular there buying golf clubs etc. I recommend rockys over any other pawn shop anywhere. I do not believe they would treat someone like a criminal. Also if you pawned a stolen ring, even not knowing it was stolen, cops dont know that so they will take it as they think you stole the ring. Rocky's Pawn shop is HORRIBLE. I recently had to deal with them in picking up an item for my sister who had passed away and had something in pawn there. I called in advance and explained the situation, and was told that as long as I brought in the appropriate paperwork that retrieving my sister's items would be no problem. I drove over 45 miles to get there (on the specific day that I was told I had to come in by) and when I got there the manager handling the shop was so rude. I again explained the situation and he told me he would not release the items, nor tell me even what they were. I understand that he didnt want to tell me what was in on loan because if I knew what it was and didn't want it, that I might leave it there. But he still could have been more sensitive to my situation that I was dealing with the recent loss of a loved one and was only trying to get her items. He used profanity when talking to me (in front of my child who was with me) and made me feel berated. I had no choice but to play by his rules if I wanted my items. He would not release the items to me that day even though he told me I had to come in that day. I paid up and had to return home empty handed only to return the following day driving an additional 90 miles to get the jewelry that was in there. I have dealt with other pawn shops in buying things and getting loans, and I have NEVER experienced the rude customer service and sheer disrespect that I did at this location. I am quite surprised that they have multiple locations with the way they choose to treat customers. They need to remember that they are in business because of the customers and patrons that walk through their doors. I buy many items from pawn shops as it is a great place to get deals on jewelry, electronics, etc- but I would NEVER EVER give one more penny to Rocky's Pawn Shop in Beaumont or any of their various locations. read more
