Bad bad business. I'm so disappointed. I paid money to have my son's guitar fixed and sold in the shop but after months of it sitting and not being sold we brought it home. My son played it once and it broke. The owner then called me 4 days later and told me I owe more money for the repairs. That was never discussed beyond what I already paid. I told him initially I was not putting any more money into the guitar than what was paid and in fact what we had discussed was not even fixed properly. He then accused my son of maybe doing something to break the guitar. No sir. Very bad business. You should be ashamed of yourself and maybe talk to your repair men to make sure they know what they're doing. How dare you send back a broken guitar and call asking for more money!!!! I'm the one who lost money. Poor repair and poor business. Never again. read more

My experience. I have been coming here for years for a couple of my children's instruments and should have learned from before. Have never had a good experience really. Today was the final straw. After the owner insults me and my child in front of several customers by blaming us for the the instrument that has not been repaired properly. Instead of any kind of customer service and apologies he acts like he's doing us a favor. Refused to refund the broken instrument he sold me. I would recommend you go anywhere else for your music needs. I honestly don't expect much from a music store and this place really is the bottom. read more

I went in to just look around ended up buying a Sunn 3 PA speakers with 2 x 12, they sound great, Also bought a new guitar with 7 built in effects, thats all my friends want to play when they come over. Glen the owner is very helpful but he's a one man show so just put everything down in writing because believe me 2 weeks later when you go in to pick up your Fender amp that needed a tune up (it was popping etc. ) plus it needed an external plug to add the Sunn speakers, you'll both forget the price he quoted you for work that needed to be done by a 3rd party. Let's just hope he remembers to call me when he gets an Ovation guitar I'm looking for. read more

Showed up two Wednesdays in a row. Hours on the door states they open at 11:30. The first week had to leave but in the market for a mandolin. Price not a problem. The second Wednesday door was open at 11:30 am and place was dark. No lights on and a person sitting on the floor states "they're not open yet. They are giving a piano lesson." I state sign says open at 11:30 and door was unlocked." Then a voice from the back says "we are not open yet give me one minute." So I go outside and wait over a minute then left. I was ready to buy a mandolin that day. They apparently don't want the business. Their lack of professionalism most likely has lost them business in the past. I left them a message, but no response. I like others would like to keep my business local but will take it elsewhere. I think Psalm 33 another business that sells instruments off of 6th street in Yucaipa will want my business. read more

Step to this music store at evening and there was a salesman with long blond hair. Extremely unprofessional to extend that Insulted my child and I was going to confront him but felt to be bad example for my kids and we left the store. I don't think he was the owner of the business the way he conducted business, if he was I won't think he would last long on this music instruments business and if he was not then this looser should have life together somewhere else as he would ruin that store and I won't think people would return to buy instrument specially in small little town that everyone talks to each other, from street to school. Huge "Props" to store owner Glenn Suveg for Outstanding Customer Service. He introduced me to a line of Guitars he wisely chose to stock in-store called Tagima. These Guitars are an AMAZING VALUE, Hand Made in Brazil. I play Pro and have owned just about all Major Label Guitars at one time or another costing 3 times or more in some cases, but as of the last few years, not as Impressed by the Quality of the Build, the Components used and the Gorgeous Finishes Tagima Provides, I Bought 4 of them (1 Acoustic) ! As with any product, a flaw may appear on an individual instrument. Glenn made it right Immediately to assure my satisfaction. He Built my confidence in his store and his management style. Been going here with my son for several years, first we were customers for my kids school supplies for band and loved the advice from the shop and the pointers they gave my son. Then my child wanted to learn piano and we asked if they offer the lessons and then we got a call back immediately and was able to take my son in and we have the most caring loving piano teacher! My child can tend to shut down when stressed not getting notes right and he doesn't get discouraged what so ever because the teacher is just that good! Always up lifting my son! Shady. Get anyone to call back is difficult. I had 2 instruments left for repair. And one French horn looking to sell to them. The clarinet was not fixed at all. Still the same problem. They told me to wait for all instruments to be completed to pick them up. The hofner bass I tried getting repaired, it was a challenge, unfortunately piece needed was unable to be placed. I asked them if they would like to buy the bass. They said yes. - Sold the bass to them. Apparently, I'm suppose to know their employee rules however I am not an employee, Glenn called me later saying he was investigating my bass purchase. Paid for the clarinet, I am not a clarinet player so I had no way of checking it. As soon as the clarinet player Received it, who was not located in CA at the time, she only took one glance and noticed the problem was not even address not fixed. Long story short Nothing was fixed. And they kept my French horn without telling me yes they would sell it or not. I just got off the phone with Glenn and it was going no where instead he was immediate to pointing the blame in my direction. Poor business ethics. Reply to message below: I tried several times calling the establishment, my messages were not returned. The French horn was not in lieu of payment, I wanted to inquire about an appraisal. Instead, they kept it after it only being there for a week. No Return phone call after someone looked at it. I went back for my belongings, Instead the man repairing my bass was interested in purchasing my bass, I agree since it was not fixable. So I sold it to the establishment as stated to me. I did not seel the bass $350. I have a receipt from Yucaipa Music for $200. It was my FULL intention to gather my belongings. However, due to the part needed for the bass, it took quite some time to locate it. I went into the music store SEVERAL times to check on the work being done. I even played it. Each time I was at the store , the owner Glenn was never there. So because he wasn't there, he thinks I abandoned it. This is simply not the case. Due to his constant absence from work, he obviously does not know what goes on under his own roof when he is not there. I have Receipt proof , they paid me $200 for my bass NOT $350. read more

I brought my first guitar, a 27 year old Sigma 12 string in to be fixed, because the face had begun to warp, and the bridge was coming unglued, along with a couple of other minor issues and upkeep. Lance assured me that while the fix was fairly straightforward, he had not previously attempted it on a 12 string. His quote was well within the range of what I expected to pay, and his confidence was reassuring. He went the extra mile, by performing the repair on two of his personal guitars with the same issue, before tackling mine, sending me photos of his work along the way. I let him take his time over the course of several weeks, to perfect his proficiency. The wait was well worth it. Between fixing the body, the bridge, the saddle, and dressing the frets (not to mention new strings), my guitar has not sounded better in over 20 years! I am VERY pleased with the results, and recommend Lance for tune-ups, repairs, and decades of experience behind his advice and work. read more

If you hate giant music shops and miss the quaint music shops of the old days, go here! Also, LANCE is the man and will fix any issues (electrical or otherwise) with your guitar. Had a strange set up on my tele (triple with coil split) and he contact Fender / Gibson and everyone in between to ensure he could get the best sound out of my guitar. AWESOME guys there. Highly recommend. Selection of guitars is geared more toward(s) the lower end/ entry level, but the service is great. Definately bringing all my equipment there for repairs and will be buying most of my strings/picks/ etc from them Thanks! read more

I took my 20 year old flute in to get fixed and it is working good as new! They were able to put completely new pads in it and gave me no issues when I brought it back a couple days later because it still didn't feel quite right and some notes weren't crisp. Located in the quaint downtown region of Yucaipa, this music shop's exterior is a fitting piece to the area. Big-box music stores may be overwhelming to some folks due to the sheer amount of people who may be present or to the seemingly endless array of options. With a selection possessing a music lover's bare essentials and recognizable, family-friendly background music, a this store is the perfect opposite to that big-box environment! The store keeper was inviting and made us feel welcome to take our time when browsing their products. I had come in with in the intention to repair an electronic hardware issue with a guitar of mine. They were more than willing to get my problem fixed, which I was extremely appreciative of. For repairs, they charge a $30 down payment and will add to that bill as more hours are put into the repair job. In my case, the final cost for that repair was... the down payment of $30! The service was quick and quality, as, less than a week later, my guitar played good as new. I definitely will get all my future instrument issues serviced here. read more
