Walked in 32 mins before close and was turned away despite there not being a single other customer

I've been going there for almost 5 years (do the math on the $ I've spent there) and today I was given the worst hair cut that I can recall ever having. Uneven. Not cleaned up. Splotchy (if that's a word). It was so bad and took so long that on a few occasions when she asked how it was and I said to shorten this or clean that or what about this, I almost said that I'd it (somehow) when I got home. Barber was nice but I wasn't paying for entertainment or comany. I was paying for a specific service. I tipped (from Vegas... you always tip) but it's highly unlikely that I'd ever set foot in there again. read more

Never have I ever entered and left a barber shop so quickly. Blonde lady at the desk today was extremely rude and did not want any part in cutting my hair today apparently! Don't Count on an "Appointment Time." Given that I had 1.5 hours between meetings, I figured I would pre-book and "appointment" for a haircut. What a joke. 15 min drive to this location, arrived a little early and was told that my (pre-booked) barber would be right with me. 30 minutes later, no sign of any barber even close to being finished (prolonged social chatting with customers) so I had to leave without a haircut. The hallmark of a good business is how they resolve problems. Sadly, Roosters fell far short. I've been a regular customer here for quite some time, not only getting haircuts and beard trims but also buying my hair care products here. My haircut is about as basic as you can get: A buzz cut, same length over all. In the past I've been satisfied and have enthusiastically recommended the place to friends and family. Monday, I went in for a cut and at the end I thought it looked a little odd, but could not put my finger on what it was. But the lady who did the cut sent me out with my hair soaking wet (in past experience that's always been a sign of trying to cover up a bad cut). It wasn't until I was home and my hair was dry that I realized what the problem was: The hair on one side of my head was 2-3 times as long as the properly cut hair on the other side. I was disappointed but not upset about it. WIling to accept the mistake in balance of all the good haircuts I've gotten there (although unless you're going to a cheap joint like Fantastic Sams, shouldn't you expect a good cut every time?). So I went back today, showed them what the problem was, and asked for a quick trim to correct it. I was told they were very busy, and I'd have to wait about 40 minutes. Okay, so I'd wait. It wasn't until I had been there for 40 minutes and saw that they were taking people who had reservations ahead of me that I became aggravated. I wasn't just a regular walk-in. Correcting an obvious and glaring mistake should have been a priority, something the business' reputation stood on. I left at that point, and paid good money to get a proper haircut at another place. Roosters, you lost a long-time customer today over an issue you could have easily corrected. read more

I called in earlier today to ask if they had any openings. They had me make an appointment @ 6:30. I thought perfect I have dinner plans at 7:30! I sat around there for a half until the manager came to talk me. She offered my cut for free but I would have to wait. It would have been nice if she offered to cut my hair but that option never came up. I got to go to dinner with my hair looking all bushy and a mess!! Thanks Roosters!! read more

I have been going to this Roosters location for about 3.5 years now! My Barber Racquel is always so friendly and she does an amazing job. The entire staff are always extremely helpful and social. They crack jokes and make it a very positive environment. I feel that pricing is very fair considering the quality of treatment I get and it's definitely a step up from the places I would go before. I walked in and asked if they were familiar with the textured quiff, the lady said yes, I let my hair grow for this, when she was done it was not what I had wanted, I walked out with a high fade and short hair on top, the quiff is longer hair on top and shorter towards the back with a tapper fade, she didn't seem to care, horrible customer service! read more

Garrett was AWESOME! Sat in the chair and he already knew what to do. Least explanation I've ever had to give and he did a great job-not too short, not too long like every other barber we've been to. Also shaved the beard down to a goatee. 1st experience with a shave and it did not disappoint :-D. Walked out looking and feeling great; ready for spring. Laid back atmosphere, good mix of magazines. Called in advance to set up an appointment. Set for 1pm. Which worked great. Loved the vibe. Nice wood, good atmosphere. Vintage clippers. Felt welcoming. Got a head shave and beard trim. The fading was great, I left very satisfied, however after I got home they missed a massive section under my chin. After fixing it I then noticed a lot of un-evenness between one side and other. Overall it was good. For the price, that big of a miss should not have happened. read more

You shouldn't advertise that you're "walk-in" and then when someone walks-in for a child's haircut tell them "You'll have to come back in an hour and a half." Clearly this place can't keep up with the demand and they don't know how to fix that but don't advertise that you're a walk-in barber shop when in reality you're appointment only. I should also note that the woman at the front desk specifically said "Did you make an appointment online? We prefer you make appointments." That's fine but like I said, don't advertise and say you're "walk-in." read more

This place is great, really great but when your beard is cut way more than you want it. Damn that'll piss you off. Amanda was great and the service was the best above every place I ever been. I wanted a beard trim. The little end of the hair slightly to be trimmed. She essentially cut all my growth leaving the chin hair way longer than the sides. You have to understand a man's beard is nothing to joke with. I will be back to get another haircut but my beard shall never be touched again unless by the hands of the beard God's. read more

I went to this place because it was close to my house. I got my hairs cut by Erica who was awesome, she was very friendly and a little nerdy (in a good way). The decor was awesome and so were the chairs. Erica did a wonderful job of answering my questions and helping me get the haircut I wanted. The cost for my simple haircut was very pricey, $27 to cut all my hair off with a buzzer. The customer service was impeccable and worth the $27. I plan to return for my next haircut. I started going to Roosters mainly because of how close it is to where I live. The name of the place is strange to me...but what's in a name? I found Courtney right away and I have never been disappointed. She is super quick, listens to what you want, and is a very fun person to be around. This was my first visit to Roosters. It was amazing, to say the least. I've never had such service offered to me for a haircut. This place knows how to treat a man. First off, it's decorated with rich wood and leather all tied together very tastefully. It appears that only women work here... another bonus. My stylist was named Nikki. She offered me a cold beverage and proceeded to inquire about the kind of style/service that I was looking for. Apparently, they also do full facial shaves. I received an excellent haircut and shampoo/scalp massage. It was a treat, to be sure. Did I forget to mention the hot steamed towel they put on your face while you are getting shampooed and conditioned? I was in such bliss at this point that it all was a blur! This place is seriously hit or miss, sometimes you get phenomenal service sometimes it really sucks. Supposedly there are quite a few things included with the haircut, rarely do you get them all. The one perk for sure is that you occasionally will get a beer while waiting. In terms of the haircuts, they have all been pretty good quality and what I requested. I will continue to go there for haircuts. They are busy though so call ahead. read more

I recently moved to Westminster from South Littleton and didn't want to drive an hour and half round trip to see the girl I used to go to so I thought I would give this place a try. Brandie was excellent!! She was very personable and my hair looks better than ever. The price is steeper than other places but great service and nice atmosphere. The neck shave, hot towel treatment and scalp message to finish makes it a great experience. This was my second time in an I had a number of issues. I chose to go to Roosters because I mistakenly associated their higher prices with more experience barbers, which was clearly not the case. First off, I had to explain to my barber (not actually sure she was a barber) what a taper fade was several times. I was then surprised at the end when she asked how I wanted my neckline. There shouldn't be one on a taper fade. During my time in the chair one employee said to another "hurry up I've got places to be", while she was still cutting a customers hair. After that customer left the two employees started loudly complaining about that customer's girlfriend and how demanding she is with his hair. I let the girl cutting my hair know that her clippers were just ripping out my hair. I've felt one or two hairs get pulled during a normal haircut but never CONSTANT pulling. When I let her know she sprayed some lubricant on them and went back to cutting my hair. She immediately pressed the clippers against my head and I could feel a bunch of the lubricant running down the side of my head. Not a great feeling. I usually go to a skilled barber because of their knowledge of head shapes and proper beard shaping techniques. Instead I had to repeatedly guide the person cutting my hair as she seemed really unfamiliar. In the end the haircut isn't terrible but it's far from what I would expect for such a high cost. I won't be returning to any of the Roosters chain as it's clear their standards for employment are lower than I expected. read more

I happened to see some of the reviews so I figured I should add mine. I have been going to Garrett for about 4 months now and really like how my hair style has evolved. At the suggestion of my wife I came to Roosters for the first time and chose Garrett mainly because he was a man. I had gone to several women at two different salons before and was not happy. Garrett seemed to understand the direction I was going and I have been happy ever since. My wife liked the style from the beginning. Friendly staff and service for guys and kids. My husband was tired of finding places to only go home and recut his hair. The staff was kind and helpful for cutting my 2 year olds hair and my husband.
