Overpriced and overhyped. The staff and food are lovely but the scenery was not as expected and our seating was an emergency window view - so basically obstructed viewing. Do yourself a favor and drive. read more

Wonderful train trip through the Canada Rocky Mountains. Excellent staff and great service. Loved the two day trip. Food was delicious. Open bar!! Worth the upgrade to Gold leaf . More comfortable than first class on an airline. If your looking for a train trip look into the Rocky Mountaineer. read more

Stranded at bus station next door at 4am in the rain. Nowhere to go. I try to sleep, to no avail. 5:30 comes, and there's movement next door. Here, at the most beautiful train station I've ever seen. I sheepishly ask to use the washroom. I'm pretty sure I look like a homeless person. Yes, please do, they say. They offer me a warm place to sit and a free coffee, as well. There's no way for them to know just how grateful I am for their kindness. It made me look up their train travel packages immediately. I suggest you do the same - the customer service is unparallelled. read more

I was disappointed with the train ride as each leg took 10-12 hours requiring very very early departures I took every upgrade offered and expected great rooms at the Fairmont. My room in Banff was the single worst room I have ever seen. I had a view of the lobby roof and A/C system. Rocky mountaineer did nothing to help I would not recommend Rocky Mountaineer as they are far too expensive for what they deliver. It's all hype. read more
