Came in here for some basic tackle, bait and intel on how to get my 9 year old onto some local…read moretrout and the guys working were super helpful. They steered me to the trout worms over earthworms because they can be kept at room temp and they're smaller so they're easier to use. I told them what tackle I was using and they helped me dial it in. They gave me lots of recommendations and tips for the various lakes, streams in town. They have rod/ reel rentals if you don't have one and a lot of great fly fishing gear and flies as well. I believe they can get you connected with a guide as well. Top quality customer service and amazing local knowledge!!

But mentioned that we could get a refund for the additional day if we happened to make it back before he closed at 4pm. As we're walking out, he suggest that we don't steal them... we return them the same day and he explained that the money for the additional day he made us purchase would be refunded onto our card. We get in the vehicle we realize he gave my fiancé another persons rental ticket by the name Jorge Rodriguez. My fiancé is Hispanic... They suggested we would steal the spikes then gave my fiancé another Hispanic persons ticket. The people here are racist & liars. We called the following day to see if the money would reload to which we were told that they don't do refunds all of the sudden. Overall you'd be better off buying some on Amazon before your trip if you are a POC.

Outdoor world is an awesome gear store in Estes Parks for all of your outdoor needs while visiting…read moreRMNP. The store has been here for decades, and has a good selection of boots, shoes, camping gear, fleeces, hiking poles, rain gear- you name it! Recently, we have begun enjoying snow shoeing in the winter, and needed an extra pair for a visitor, so in we went to Outdoor Gear, where they bent over backwards to get us outfitted for the very reasonable price of $6 for a 24 hour rental. The snow shoes worked great, the staff was friendly, problem solving (what to put on a dog's feet so they can go snow shooing too?) and it was a great experience. In the summer, the store can get crazy busy and it is less possible to get the full attention service like we did in the winter. In that case, wait your turn, present your need or problem, and they will do everything they can to help you! Your purchase will be top quality and last for years! I have a hiking pack from the 90's, my first pair of hiking poles from 2004, water bottles- all in working order today!

North Face, Patagonia, Tilley, Columbia etc. No cheap iron on T-shirts or junk souvenirs here. Knowledgeable and great customer service. I could have spent a lot more time here but my wife dragged me out! And the prices are reasonable for a high end store in a small outlying community. You should definitely make this one of your stops while In town, I will definitely be back on my next visit to Estes Park!

I was lost and was trying to retrace my route through Rocky Mountain National Park when deja vu hit…read moreme like a Mack Truck. I repeated "Estes Park? Estes Park? Estes? Park? How do I know this place?" in my head like a mantra while using the Yelp app to see what was noteworthy around here. Since this is a small town, it wasn't hard to find the best of the best since it's all on Elkhorn. I love tourist traps with handmade wares. And funny t-shirts, and bad 80's music on the background! I don't own a belt but I felt like I was taking a peak into what life with Wolowitz would have been like. There's miles and miles of buckles, cowboy hats, country posters and t-shirts. I especially liked their knife collection and I do believe I saw a few Bowie knives make an appearance as well. I could stare at the many many collections for hours and think up ideas of what awesome trophies I'd make out of those massive belt buckles. If I had an especially burly man in my life, I'd definitely make a special trip to this place for all occasions.

I came in here because I just came from Knoxville and the belt buckles were over $200, so I figured…read moreI would take a peak. The buckles didnt have prices on them and when I asked how much they were.... I thought the guy was kidding when he told me $20. I got 2 regular western belt buckles for $40.
