I asked a close friend who has benefited from hearing aids for two decades, and he enthusiastically recommended Dr. Katie Breithart. Boy was he right! Dr. Breithart is clearly quite skilled and she certainly made me feel both comfortable and confident I was getting the right solution for my needs. After a thorough hearing evaluation, she then took the time to talk to my wife and I about our observations, my lifestyle and how that might affect the kind of devices chosen, and answered a slew of questions. Then and only then did she recommend a specific solution. I was able to try on demo models to confirm fit and functionality, and walked out with a great solution that day. In two weeks, just as promised, my custom hearing aides came in and I exchanged the demo models for my own pair. Dr Breithart carefully programmed them to my hearing tests, and then made minor adjustments based on my in office experience. Net result, after three months I have my hearing back and I often forget I am even wearing my hearing aids. I know my needs will continue to change, but I have Dr. Breithart on my side, and that gives me great confidence.

HRC is now HearUSA, but nothing else has changed. This is a very good thing. I have been a client…read morefor well over fifteen years, and I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Brock and his staff. They're just WONDERFUL! I have an uneasy relationship with my hearing loss and hearing aids. I don't particularly care that I'm hard of hearing, and I just train people to look at me when they speak. I don't like hearing aids and consider them a necessary evil. I either haven't worn them, or only wore one, most of my life since age 13. Things changed when my son fell on the stairs in NY, and I couldn't hear him crying for me. My mother, who has acute hearing and a terrible temper, brought him upstairs and yelled, "You need to wear a damn hearing aid!" Well pfft. Upon our return to Colorado, I shuffled my feet off to Hearing Rehab Center, as it was then. I sulked during the hearing test. Dr. Brock fitted me with a top-of-the line LEOPARD-printed hearing aid. I LOVED it. It was tiny, amazing, and LEOPARD. Dr. Brock suggested that I get two, but I refused. Ex-husband and kid(s) were extremely noisy. He never pushed me to get a second one. Over the years, I've stopped by many times for batteries, new domes, new tube thingies, and the occasional overdue hearing test. I've also run over in a complete panic when my aid didn't work. This was usually because of a loose wire. I had to eventually replace the leopard aid, and Dr. Brock guided me to what he thought was the best choice for me. A tiny Oticon aid, in an unfortunate shade of burgundy that matches Oriental rugs perfectly. I am exceedingly grateful to Dr. Brock for making a bad situation (hearing loss) better. He's a genuinely kind, very nice, and thoroughly professional audiologist. He REALLY knows his field, and keeps up with the latest developments and technology. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He's also very pleasant in that he won't push you into making a choice. I really appreciate that. Excellent hearing aids are expensive, even with special pricing. HearUSA has partnered with a couple of major manufacturers in order to offer discounts on some aids. HearUSA also offers the OTC aids for$999. These are suitable for people with mild to moderate loss. Unfortunately, mine is more severe, so those won't help me. But for metalheads or age-related loss, these could work.

We paid about $6000 up front for high-quality hearing aids which included hearing tests and follow up visits and insurance for the hearing aids but I believe even Dr. Link's office visits are on the high side. I believe we paid 150.00 even for a very short and simple office visit to clean ear wax from a hearing aid. My advice would be to call around because a lot of doctors take insurance and submit for you and the ins could pay for even a portion of the hearing aids plus a good portion of hearing tests. I found a great doctor in the Denver tech center less than 10 minutes away from the audiology method. my mom's hearing test according to her new doctor will probably only be about $18 after insurance is billed. Their hearing aid themselves will be about $2000 and that includes insurance for the hearing aids. Office visits will be about half the cost that Dr. Link was charging. I was able to find a Doctor Who takes insurance after only one phone call. If you don't mind the cost, the office staff is fantastic and I believe Dr. Link would take great care of anyone's hearing needs.

I was surprised as my Aids are out of warranty. Diana Combs the Audiologist at the Littleton office on Coal Mine avenue wanted me to bring my aids in. I though my Aids were becoming un-useable but that was not the case. Over time Aids are effected by moisture from the air and being in contact with our skin. The Aids absorb this moisture and it effects the function. Diana cleaned both pair, changing gloves and wiping down the Aids and the box they came as she worked. Both pairs are Phonak and I new performance would be top notch. Connect Hearing proved themselves caring and professional during this crisis period.

Avoid this Practice--Hidden Fees…read more I recently visited Dr. Jefferey Chain's ENT practice for a simple ear wax cleaning. Laura performed the cleaning, which was mediocre at best. She also encouraged me to have my hearing tested, and I agreed since it had been a while. I recently received the bill and was shocked to find a $283.84 charge labeled "Office Visit New Patient" on top of the charges, which totaled $554.18, for the services I actually received. This was supposed to be an ear cleaning $500 later!!! Essentially, they charge nearly $300 just to walk through the door--without any prior disclosure! To make matters worse, when I called the billing department for clarification, I spoke with Leigh, who was somewhat rude and dismissive. After looking at other one-star reviews, it's clear that we're not alone in our frustration. We will never return to this practice, and I strongly advise others to avoid it unless you enjoy surprise charges and poor customer service.

WARNING! READ THIS REVIEW AND BE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE AGREEING TO!!…read more I wanted to get a second opinion on a hearing test I had done for tinnitus. Mr. Reiner was recommended. Again, this was for a hearing issue. After the Audiologist completed the test, which doesn't take very long, she escorted me to the waiting room and said "the doctor" will be right with you" After 15 minutes, or so of waiting, I was taken to an exam room, several minutes afterward, Dr. Reiner came in. We had a brief discussion about sleep apnea. He said let me take a look and a couple of minutes later, we're done. Next thing in know.....I'm getting a bill for $491.86!!!! $388.00 of it is for an endoscopy that I never "agreed" to!! The " " are because when I called the billing department, they told me the paperwork I signed authorized them to bill for this procedure! And, I agree with that, but when someone goes in for one procedure and gets blind-sided with a bill for another....where's the ethics?? Ended up that an infected tooth was the cause of my sinus problems. Dr. Reiner should have known this could be the problem and could have at least considered it as I found out later it is VERY COMMON. On top of that, he didn't back me up when the anesthesiologist for my surgery refused to give me any sedation because of my history and COPD, but billed me and my insurance company $839.88, 2 months later, for sedation during my surgery!! So I payed over $1000 out-of-pocket for a surgery that I did not need, and experienced pain and discomfort during the surgery without sedation, but had to pay that bill, the Surgery View Center bill, and Dr. Reiner's bill so my credit would not be ruined.. The anesthesiologist's name is Thomas McGeary.
