Avoid this Practice--Hidden Fees I recently visited Dr. Jefferey Chain's ENT practice for a simple ear wax cleaning. Laura performed the cleaning, which was mediocre at best. She also encouraged me to have my hearing tested, and I agreed since it had been a while. I recently received the bill and was shocked to find a $283.84 charge labeled "Office Visit New Patient" on top of the charges, which totaled $554.18, for the services I actually received. This was supposed to be an ear cleaning $500 later!!! Essentially, they charge nearly $300 just to walk through the door--without any prior disclosure! To make matters worse, when I called the billing department for clarification, I spoke with Leigh, who was somewhat rude and dismissive. After looking at other one-star reviews, it's clear that we're not alone in our frustration. We will never return to this practice, and I strongly advise others to avoid it unless you enjoy surprise charges and poor customer service. read more

Now known as ENT ONE, the worst, avoid at all costs. Been a patient here 2+ years, have never seen a doctor,,,have never even seen one in the building. they upsell you on shitty hearing aids, and then provide little to no service...I just had them replaced 4 months ago, they haven't worked since the beginning and on just completely stopped working. I have paid them close to 5000 dollars in two years and I still do not have a working set of hearing aids...you need hearing aids go to Costco and save yourself about 3000 dollars. If you need an ENT, go anywhere but this dump. read more

Every time I've called this place the front desk was rude and could hardly ever help me with what I needed help with. I was constantly put on hold, constantly transferred over to someone else that never answered. Every single time I've called I've had to leave a voice mail for someone and I have been trying to make a single appt for 1.5 weeks with no help. Not even able to get it scheduled because the person who schedules allergy appts is never available. I tried to schedule Monday with her, gave her a call to schedule again on Wednesday and she finally called me Friday at 4p, I missed her call and gave her a call back 20 minutes later when I saw the missed call and she was already gone... I had literally a one call window that entire week to make an appointment with her??? I've been in severe discomfort, unable to sleep at night due to my swollen nasal cavity and I feel like they haven't shown the slightest concern or willingness to help. I also called on a Friday concerned about going through the weekend with so much discomfort when breathing at night and again had to leave a message. When I finally got a call back, hours later, the assistant said she would speak to the Dr and see what he suggested I do so I could make it through the weekend and she'd call me back... I never heard back from her. It was a miserable weekend and when I called Monday to try and speak to someone again, I was transferred and put on hold for 20 minutes and then got voicemail. I've found a new ENT who got me in immediately and is taking the next steps I need to get me sleeping at night. But comprehensive ENT is a Complete waste of money going there and wish I could get my copay back. ($80 bucks is quite a bit for a young newly wed, college student) Also, now that I've looked at the other reviews it looks like I'm not the only one who thinks the person answering the phone is rude. They should consider doing something about that being that they are in the health care profession and usually people are in discomfort when they call. I do not recommend this place at all! When making the appointment they were somewhat rude. They wouldn't tell me if they would accept my insurance, said I have to call my insurance company and see if they were in network. Then she said if they don't take it I will be responsible for the full retail price of the visit. Then, she told me that if I was late for my appointment I would be charged $200- She asked that I fax over all my medical records . The doctor showed up 22 minutes after the appointment time. He said that he never got the records I faxed over. He spent less than 20 minutes and said he doesn't know what's wrong with my throat. Fantastic audiologist named Liz she cracks me up and the doctor puts his arm on my back. They spent a lot of time with me I never have to rush and they take the time to listen. A very caring place. If anyone needs a hearing aid and your insurance has this place in network I definitely recommend them!! read more

Extremely disappointed in their apathy toward my daughter. She had very swollen, painful tonsils with white spots. She gets this several times a year for that past 8 years or so. We made the appointment with Dr. Taylor but they switched it to Dr. Langdoc without telling us. We didn't even know it was switched until we walked into the examination room. Dr. Langdoc did nothing. No quick strep test (they don't do that even though they are an ENT), no mono test, nothing for the pain, nothing for the swelling. She sent my daughter home to take Flonase for her head cold, even though she had the tonsil issue for 5 days and the cold for less than 24 hours. Want good care? Go elsewhere. read more

Needed to have my deviated septum fixed and Dr Langdoc was awesome. I evidently had what was termed as just about the worst deviated septum she has seen and she did the surgery and now I breathe wonderfully! read more

Dr. Chain and his NP are amazing. I had a very complicated case that required a lot of care and surgery and they were there for me every step of the way. They were able to see me quickly and talked me through every decision and follow up. They also are a great option for kids. Again, helping parents make informed decisions and providing excellent care. This office provides unbelievable patient care! read more

I've been to Comprehensive ENT a few times and have had an overall good experience each time. They specialize in Ear Nose and Throat problems but my appointments have always been to check my ears. Most recently I saw Dr Chain and he is courteous and professional. He was able to address my most recent problem pretty quickly and double-checked my nose and throat for any other problems (luckily - none!) The only drawback is that sometimes the time of the appointment runs long. Actual time with the doctor was less than 15 minutes but I was there for over an hour. I had similar experiences on previous appointments. read more

My worst doctors' office visit since moving to Colorado. Called on a Friday to make an appointment with Dr. Chain for the following Monday. Appointment made with Stephanie. Drove almost an hour to get there and was told by the front receptionist I had no appointment. After checking with Stephanie, apparently I was not put in the computer. But have a seat. An hour of waiting I left. So I can't leave a review about Dr. Chain. But I can tell you that his office staff is horrible and couldn't care less about his patients. No apologies or anything. And they are the same staff for other doctors at Comprehensive ENT, Head and Neck Surgery Center in Littleton. Save yourself time and headache and find another ENT doctor facility! read more

For my tonsillectomy, they put me to sleep super fast and made me feel comfortable before and after my surgery, and all of the people there kept a nice and kind attitude before they put me to sleep and after I woke up. Dr. Carol J. Langdoc is the most UNPROFESSIONAL and UNRESPONSIVE Dr. I have ever met!!!!! My first experience ever visiting with this practice, my PCP referred me to Dr. Carol J. Langdoc in regards to having a tonsillectomy due to how many tonsillitis cases I have per year. The Dr. first told me that a tonsillectomy should not be performed just on a whim but wanted me to do a sleep study to diagnose whether I have sleep apnea. The first problem I encountered was trying to even pick up the sleep test as I had scheduled to pick it up before office hours due to my work schedule and the medical assistant never showed up. Fast forward to after the sleep test was finally done, I was told by the Dr. that I would have to have surgery on a deviated septum and the tonsillectomy due to how severe my sleep apnea is. I had been told that the Dr. would like me to see a pain management specialist prior to surgery, but this soon changed into a requirement. However, both myself as well as the Dr. could not find a pain management specialist and I was told she would cancel the surgery because of it. When trying to call for a referral to a pain management specialist, the Dr. did not call me back until a week later, ever after multiple voicemails I left. I was told by the Dr. herself that I was unable to be put on CPAP without having this surgery as CPAP would not work due to the deviated septum. This Dr. found every excuse she could to avoid doing the surgey even after she is the one who said I had to have the surgey done and I even told her that pain management was MY choice, not hers. read more

Comprehensive ENT, specifically Dr. Chain, is one of the best doctors my family has ever had. He has operated on all three of my children. Dr. Chain was kind, gentle, & sweet to my kids. He was also direct & honest with me. There wasn't one appointment where I felt rushed to speak to him about their symptoms. He always took the time to listen & discuss next steps thoroughly. I would recommend Dr. Chain as an ENT to anyone! read more

Significantly overpriced! They didn't notify me that I would have to pay more than the initial deposit and I ended up paying over double the initial deposit when it was all squared away. They also didn't provide much insight on my problem and nothing was fixed. Definitely avoid here if possible! read more

Waited a week for a referral. Tried to make an appointment with referral in the works - they were not interested. Called once I had the referral they had not gotten it so I had to track it down. Referral department sent it again. I had them change my referral to somewhere else since the Office seemed more focused on the referral and had no empathy for my lack of hearing. Cannot rate the doctor only his front office staff. read more

We were referred here by our pediatrician for a rock lodged in my 5 year old's nostril. Dr. Chain and Nurse Lori were amazing!!! Not only were they professional and knowledgeable, but they were patient, kind and communicated well with my daughter. Awful. I made an appointment for my daughter to have her tonsils looked at in hopes of having them removed before they became an issue. I was told that there wasn't anything wrong, which is fair, but she might have sleep apnea and I should have her do a sleep study, which equals $$$$$ when you have a low premium/high deductible insurance package. I'm not a doctor but I have slept in the same bed with someone who does have sleep apnea and I certainly know what it sounds like, and my daughter doesn't breath like that. Tonsil removal would have been a preventive step to save her problems later. But I digress... Fast forward 6 months and my phone rings at 8:00, Saturday morning. It's Jane Doe from XYZ Debt Collections wanting to know if I have enough money to pay my outstanding bill. I'm sorry, what? I tell her I'll contact the doctor's office on Monday and see what's going on, since it doesnt make any sense, but meanwhile, my entire weekend is ruined. I call the 'billing' line on their website and it is constantly busy. They might want to get their website updated if this is no longer a valid number, I'm just saying. I call the office number and tell Terri I have an issue with owing them some money, who can I talk to? Mary is the only one. Mary is in Georgia, so, so much for 'currently reviewing our contract with the billing service in hopes of bringing it back in house by mid year'. ((See the response by Terri to the review by RS W on the old site from 2012). I am assuming this did not happen as Georgia is no where near Littleton, Colorado.)) Nobody really wants to call long distance to deal with a bill if there is a local number listed along side it, which is how it is right now so it might be a good idea to take down the local number. Terri says she will 'send a note to Mary' to call me back. Jane Doe then calls, wanting to know when I can start making payments. I give up on Mary ever calling me back and call her. Mary states they sent me 6 or 7 statements and never received a payment. Come to find out, they had my address correct, the street name at least, but there was no house number. What??? I was incensed. They were going to screw up my credit over $100 because nobody ever checked why the bills came back? Nobody called me? I wrote down my phone number on all the paperwork I had to fill out at the initial appointment. So I ask, how can I pay you what I owe? I can do it over the phone, with Mary, but choose not to because then I won't have a receipt if things continue to go downhill. I drive down to the office and I won't even get into the rather annoying story regarding the fact that the office door was locked and the 'doorbell' wasn't functioning and a nice gentlemen had to firmly kick on the door until somebody came to let us in. I tell 'I'm New Here' that I need to pay my bill but she can't find me because it's actually under my daughters DOB, fair enough. But I throw Mary's name in there, just so they know what this is all about. Mary did call them to let them know I was coming and she did call the Debt Collectors to get my file removed from their queue. 'Regular Girl' pulls up my file and I write my check. 'I'm New Here' says she doesn't know what happened, they just didn't have my home number. I had to call bull sh** on that right away and rather loudly. When 'I'm New Here' hands me my receipt, right there on top, plain as the tonsils still in my daughters throat, is my phone number, So I point that fact out to 'I'm New Here' and leave. I can't believe how poorly this office is run. Now I know why health care is in trouble and why it's so expensive. And I can't believe there isn't one person somewhere, who could be hired to sort through the mail and do some basic research? In this day and age, this office couldn't do any due diligence to find me? My paperwork? My insurance company? The internet? Phonebook? They all have my number and my address. There is no communication between the billing office and the doctor's office? To send a $100.00 bill to collections is just plain lazy. It makes me wonder what else they slack off on at this office. They're just too busy? The customer service is horrible, I wasn't really wowed by the doctor and the fact that I was outright lied to regarding them not having my phone number was unbelievable.. Kudos to Mary in Georgia though for staying professional when I flipped my lid on her. She's the only one who deserves any respect, she's the only reason for the one star. The entire office needs to take some communication classes and probably more than one office management class. Big business when it comes to Healthcare is bad news. I recommend you go somewhere else. read more
