I called and called, leaving many messages before the owner - Kyle - finally called me screaming. I didn't know what he was talking about and asked him to calm down, and he just yelled something about how busy he was. He's nice and calm when he takes your money, but I guess that when he has other work to do he leaves your job undone and chases the next payment. I'm filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, Registrar of Contractors, and others. Beware of working with Kyle - in my opinion, he's a thief and has more than one screw loose.

We found the GIF plug that needed to be reset after 30 minutes of looking (it was behind a large piece of furniture that I hadn't thought to move). We talked about options and within 15 minutes, he was done. He was wrapping up when I broached another problem I was having. He said "wait, I have the piece on my truck and it'll be easier to swap out now than come back", so he did (replace the piece) in about 10 minutes. Far cheaper than if I'd used "Same Day Electricians", the same guys that wanted me to spend $1,400 on a whole house inventory---who never said that they'd fix the problem! He offered to look up a replacement fountain controller and gave us a price that included about a 50% markup on the part. We decided to purchase the part ourselves instead. However, we were then charged an additional fee simply for locating the part and texting us the manufacturer's website. Had we known in advance that this would add nearly $120 to our bill, we would have declined. The work itself was fine, but I was disappointed that these additional charges were not clearly explained beforehand. It's a shame. We were considering him for other projects but after this experience, we will go with someone else.

Second, Ross showed up right on time, was professional and friendly, and was nice enough to rearrange the order of his project to accommodate my baby's nap schedule. High Ground (great name given high grounding is an electrical term) came to do troubleshooting on an electrical problem in our home through the serendipity of another electrician who was recommended by a trusted source being too busy to do the work and they, in turn, highly (no pun intended) recommended this business. We had an excellent experience with High Ground electricians (two on the first visit) when they came to troubleshoot the problem and discuss options to resolve it and then returned (one this time) to do the work on the selected option. We so appreciated the discussion of options because my husband and I have had four custom homes built in the last 28 years and except for this one in Idaho, all of the previous great experiences with the builders and electricians and so we have learned from the previous electricians enough to understand options when presented. It takes time for licensed electricians to present options and we value that they took that time and their recommendations and also that they listened to us for what we were trying to accomplish in correcting the original problems. We also valued the care with which they did the follow up work to implement the solution to the problem. If there was a teensy hitch in the giddeyup it was some confusion in their administration of the scheduling of the follow up appointment, but things happen in that regard when people are busy. The important thing is when the scheduling snafu was resolved, and it was resolved quickly, the work was top caliber. We would trust High Ground again to do any kind of electrical work for us. And here is another great thing, both electricians were such nice men, in addition to being expert in what they do, and when the job was all done the man doing it thanked my husband for his time! Imagine that...it was we who felt they were the ones who should be getting the thanks. We had an excellent experience with Canyon Electric from start to finish. They came out promptly to…read moreprovide an estimate for an updated hot tub, and because they came so highly recommended by the Snake River Hot Tub dealership, we felt confident moving forward without getting a second quote. On the day of the installation, an unexpected issue came up from our 17 year old wiring that hadn't been identified during the estimate. It required additional parts, about a half day of extra labor, and even digging up existing hot tub wiring. Despite all of that, we were incredibly impressed that they honored the original estimate without hesitation. That level of integrity is rare and speaks volumes about their business. Throughout the entire process, their communication was clear and consistent. The team was incredibly friendly, professional, and respectful of our space. They took the time to replace all the dirt they had to dig up and left everything clean and tidy when the job was done. I have called Canyon Electric three time and message them twice in the past week, to no avail. I have left recordings and gotten no returned call. Canyon Electric did our SPA electric our first home twelve years ago. Canyon Electric also did our Eagle SPA electrical in 2020. We just had our home inspected and the inspector will not pass the inspection as the 220 volt wire runs the complete length of our home in the crawl space "On The Ground." The inspector said it was against Idaho code and illegal. He said it legally had to be nailed to the joists. He was floored and put back that the installer did not nail it up properly. I am old and cannot go under the home so I never new it was done incorrectly and illegally. Plus, I cannot go under the home to nail it up properly.
