Sam's Place is one of the casinos in the area that also offers food. These places are nothing like…read morethe Vegas casinos with their attached restaurants, but are low-key, casual dining places that happen to have the machines under the same roof. Because it's a casino, you can sit at the bar, order, and play bar dice, and many people do just that. I don't know how well the machines pay out, but they're always busy when I've stopped here for breakfast. Sam's offers typical breakfast items, but the portions are generous, and the wait is never too long. You'll probably wait longer to get served than it will take for your order to arrive simply because it's always crowded, and the employees are in constant motion. The food is solid: tasty but not gourmet, the overheard conversations of the locals are entertaining, and the employees clearly have a long-standing friendship with the regulars. At times, though, that casual friendship can be frustrating if you're in hurry. so plan accordingly.

Sam's Place is a supporter of Predatory Towing. Do not park at this location or support these…read morePredators. On the 15th of November 2014 my truck was towed from Sam's Place at 717 16th St W, Billings, Mt 59102 along with 10-20 other vehicles. This predatory tow was conducted by Abel Tow of Billings, Mt between the hours of 23:00 and 24:00. Upon learning of this happening we made contact with Ray Myers of Abel Tow on location. On first interaction with Ray he informed me that it would be 340$ cash to get my truck at this time. I then talked with my wife. Moments later on second contact with Ray I asked if I waited until morning the cost would be? He informed me 320$ more or it was now 320$. I then returned to talk to my wife as it was very concerning that the price was fluctuating. At this time there were multiple parties trying to do business with this Predatory Tow Service. I then returned to talk with Ray. Ray who now said 300$ and I could retrieve my truck that night. I said I only had 280$ would he be willing to release my truck for said price. He said if I placed the moneys in his hand within 2 minutes. I quickly ran to adjacent ATM at a gas station and withdrew the monies. On returning to the parking lot Ray tried to drive away without communicating with me. I flagged him down and communicated I had the money he requested and that I wanted to be taken to the truck. He rudely stated money in my hand or no truck. I ask how am I to guarantee you will take me to me truck if I hand you the money, or will you just drive off and leave me here short 280$. I also stated that he was really pulling of a great scam. He said "you want the truck or not." I felt victimized and terrorized by this individual and his scare tactics as the weather conditions at this time were sub-zero temperatures with wind-chill factors placing temperatures in the -18 degree range. Without this truck I would be stranded in life threatening conditions. This Company and this man, Ray Myers put not only me and my wife in harm's way, as well as the numerous other citizens of this fair state. Post giving Ray the money with reluctance I then traveled with a friend and my wife following Ray to an undisclosed tow yard that belonged to a second tow company Action Towing of 1207 S.32nd St. Billings Mt. 59102. Ray then released the truck to me without providing receipt of our transaction and we left. I am writing this complaint to request fair return of funds of 280$ and to further protect my fellow man from this Predator.

The location on Grand (Wardens Grand Casino, vs Wardens Casino) is a larger and newer version of the original. The only thing I didn't like about this place was their website has tons of stock photos of casinos and slots and it is not pictures of THEIR casino. If you are going there expecting that you will be very disappointed and the owners should realize this. I had envisioned a Vegas style lighting, crowds, sounds and excitement, bank of slots (like their website depicts) and an escape from the dingy and dimly lit pub casinos that plague Billings...but sadly I found that this is the extent of it here. This place was just a larger version of it . While I have visited both their locations during the day AND night, it lacks the customer to customer friendliness you find in major market casinos (not the casinos fault, that's just people here sticking to their own group). They are extremely friendly with the workers but not with other customers they don't know. Simple efforts to make conversation or ask a question or offer congratulations were shut down quick. That's disappointing. It was also freakishly quiet to where you could hear other people's conversations several feet away but no exciting sounds of casino games, most of the games are turned down. As a girl from major market casinos this was a big change and it killed my gambling buzz a little. I felt like I was playing one of those 50 cent tabletop games at the bar when you sit on a stool waiting for your drink. The host at this location, Joe , was very personable and attentive. He was attentive on drinks, snacks and making change, keeping bathrooms clean, food station wiped down and cashing out tickets....on the flip side the girl at wardens on 4th , the attendant was not as on top of the room as Joe was (it was equally busy, both scenarios were slow). I spent a few hours there, made $80, and left. Wings were served for snacks. That's an interesting food choice given your activity uses your fingers to eat them and using those same fingers on the machine after they've been on your food and in your mouth. I passed on that one . Science doesn't support the claim that a napkin kills every form of bacteria or germ when touching screens and buttons after they've been in or near your mouth. Positives were joe the attendant, making $80, finding clean bathrooms, and a fairly large selection of games per seat (not necessarily a large selection of seats but each one had many options) Negatives were the website photos are bait and switch due to using stock photos. No drawings or giveaways during the 2 hours I was there today or the 6 hours I was there yesterday at their other location

I also had the French chip with the JoJos. The French dip was pretty good. I added a little bit of salt to mine and the Jojo's were interesting and I glad I've tried them. There's salt and pepper sweet potatoes with molasses and cardamom custard dipping sauce. Sweet potatoes are not usually my thing. But these were actually delicious. The potatoes were cooked perfectly and the sauce was interesting enough that I'm glad I gave it a try if you like sweet potatoes with sweet things you'll love it and the sweet potatoes themselves with the salt and pepper were delicious for me. Wheelchair accessibility: the front door is very heavy and right when you come in there's a flight of stairs, but there is an elevator off to the side. There's plenty of room with lots of different seating options as well as a patio in the back. The bathroom was fine. The door is a little bit heavy, but should be manageable for most users.
