Specialty shops like this are few and far between, but my family has our clock serviced here for at least the past 30 years. The problem all started when my dad died, the clock was built by his dad and passed down to me. Since they are one of the last shops that work on grandfather clocks and do good work they are very busy and you can expect to wait at least a couple months before you get your clock back depending on what's wrong with it. Their prices are fair and you can trust that they won't try to upsell you, only cleaning, oiling, repairing, and in some cases replacing worn and broken parts. Also, if you're in the market for an old fashioned clock, be it a grandfather, cuckoo, or vintage, come here first, I think you will be impressed. read more

Bought a beautiful clock here and they've been very responsive to maintaining it over the years

We were at our wits' end trying to get a clock that was given to us back in working order. Pat got it working good as new in less than a week! Clock repair is a dying art but this was well worth the search to find him! read more

Bought a nice Seth Thomas #2 regulator from this place. I bought it "as is" and now it's ticking along with just a cleaning and minor repair! This place is great and I hope to see much more of it!! read more

These guys have been repairing our clocks over the years and always stand behind their work, and are a pleasure to do business with. Their prices are so reasonable we don't even try to fix clocks ourselves. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a repair. No job is too big or too small. They also have a great retail shop. read more

I had a wall clock that I bought over 20 years ago that recently stopped keeping time. I took it to this shop after calling several places to get a quote on getting it repaired. Their pricing was in line with the other two, but I just felt more comfortable with the person who I spoke to on the phone. I am very glad I took it here. The guy was friendly, listened, and the work would be done in one week. The price was quoted up front and this is what I paid. Its a small place, limited in staffing I would guess, but I highly recommend the quality. The clock is back on the wall and working great. Never had the pendulum working so fast :) They also have clocks to purchase so if you are in the market for one, check them out. I love supporting local and this is a place I will continue to praise the work.. read more

I was given a Howard Miller Clock for my wedding that stopped working when I moved a mile to my new house...I put it in my car and didnt have a very rough drive. Nonetheless it stopped working, so I called them. The guy on the phone said it will probably take a few minutes to repair and to bring it in. Bait and switch....I brought the clock in and the guy tells me it needs to be overhauled, every 8 years.....$250!!...I have had bad dealings with clock repair in the Arvada area before so I went with it - albeit reluctantly. I picked up the clock a couple of weeks later and the same guy couldnt tell me what was wrong with it, but that it was overhauled. I got it home, put it up and wound it up....only to notice the face was not screwed back on tight.....not a big deal, I thought.....but then this morning, while the sun hit it right, I noticed the face had a dent in it.....as if someone dropped a tool or something on it, when the work was being done. Not impressed at all...... read more

I have several antique clocks that over the years have needed attention. Rocky Mountain Clocks has always brought them back to life. They explain what was done and their pricing is fair. I hope they stay in business for another 30 years. Frank - Littleton read more

This shop is run by only one person, it's small, and is hidden away on Broadway but this might be the most interesting shop you might ever visit 5 stars read more

We have been using Rocky Mountain Clocks since we moved here. I have had numerous old clocks repaired and have bought 2 new clocks. These guys are great and know what they are doing! read more

Fantastic folks, in some respects a bit anachronistic in comparison with what you generally get these days. They listen to you, take time to explain things and answer questions, and are just pleasant to talk with and be around. We've been doing business here for a couple decades or more, with Pat in particular. We love the selection of clocks, from "normal" types to some real bizarre and funky designs, old as well as new. If you like highly-detailed, mechanical things like clocks, you owe it to yourself to visit. We've bought clocks here and had zero trouble with the merchandise. We've also had repair work done, and it is this aspect that drops them from 5 to 4 stars -- still good, but not ideal. We had to haul in the works for a grandfather clock for repair because we're outside their house call radius. They repaired it, but then a few weeks or so after we reinstalled it in the case it stopped working again. They fixed it again, this time no charge, but taking out the works and hauling it back to the shop was a pain we'd hoped we wouldn't have to go through again quite so soon. Having said that, we have another clock that will soon need service and we won't be looking elsewhere, we'll still take it to Rocky Mountain Clocks. Great folks! read more

My 21-year-old grandfather clock was not working right. Dale came to my house just a short time after I called in. After a few adjustments, everything was working beautifully. He even fixed things that were not a part of the main problem. Very pleased! read more

Overhauled a cuckoo clock. Not sure it was worth the high price. It was expensive. They don't call to let you know its ready. The store hours are 10-3 M-Thursday. Friday Closed. Saturday 10-3. And they don't take credit cards. read more

When we first moved out to Denver I had a clock that needed repair. The guys at Rocky Mountain took care of it without any problems. Keep in mind that clock repair is a pricey undertaking! I also got some great advice on another clock issue. Later, when the original clock stopped working these guys took it back and checked it out free of charge. The store itself is full of all types of clocks if you're interested in buying one. The hours are a bit tight, 10-3, but given the location and business in general I cant blame them for that. I highly recommend Rocky Mountain Clocks based on their excellent customer service! read more

Their mailbox is full, they don't obviously check their messages, or answer the phone. their website hasn't been updated in over 4 years, their hours aren't posted ANYWHERE. So me being a moron make the hour (Each way 2 hours total) on a friday at noon (take off work early) thinking there is no way a store that has the supposed "800 clocks in stock" I was wrong they are only open a few hours every day, and closed all day Friday and Sunday. (10-3 mon-thurs and on Sautday is what the sign said) The parking sucks, the neighborhood isn't very good for making someone feel safe buying a high end clock. I didn't want to buy something off the internet but I'm thinking I'm going to have to. I wanted to buy a nice mid range real a real nice high end antique (had 3,500 dollars to spent) but they won't be getting it. read more

I have a Seth Thomas Regulator that I thought needed repair. I first went to another clock repair shop and was quoted $240 to fix. Not wanting to spend that much on the clock I then went to Rocky Mountain Clocks. Pat looked at my clock and told me I hadn't wound it enough and that it needed some oil, which he did. Total charge...$0. I highly recommend this business and Pat in particular for honesty and integrity. read more

Very competent and friendly service. They really know old clocks and their shop is just a wonderful collection of antique clocks. The service on our old Seth Thomas mantel clock was on time and obviously they know how to make old clocks run like new! I spent almost $300 for their repair and it should last at least 8 years. That's much less than I've had to spend at the collection of other shops I've gone to that have nickel and dimed me every year. read more

Do not do business with this company. I dropped a clock off to be repaired and forgot to pick it up. When I remembered to get it I was told they "threw it out " and it was not their policy to call the owner. Then the man changed his story and said he actually did call, but didn't get an answer. I think he repaired it and stole it. He was incredibly dishonest and slimy. Stay away from this company! read more

I have used Rocky Mountain Clocks on several occasions with excellent service both in their shop and in my home. Both Pat and Dale have been extremely professional, helpful and honest. Dale just left after fixing both my mantle and grandfather clocks which have not run for more than 2 years. He was quick, helpful and even gave me an instruction sheet on things to do in the future. I could not be more pleased with their help or the results! read more

Very knowledgeable and helped bring our antique clock back to life. We highly recommend Rocky Mountain Clocks!

Traded in a Black Forest Cuckoo clock purchased in Germany that required a major overhaul after running successfully for 27 years. Shop owner Pat Downey sold me a new cuckoo clock for $690. After a year this new cuckoo clock stopped running reliably and it was then serviced by Rocky Mountain Clocks. Jumping ahead 4 years, clock stopped running period. Attempted to have clock repaired, but now found that clock internals are totally worn out. A Black Forest clock should provide 20-25 years of reliable service not 4 years of service. Rocky Mountain Clocks owner Pat Downey has refused to prorate the original clock purchase cost or to allow a store credit towards a new replacement cuckoo clock. read more
