My Tag Heuer Aqua racer watch never really worked well. It's Auto winding feature never worked from day one, when it was purchased at Jared's as an Anniversary gift to me 15 years ago. After speaking with a smooth talking receptionist at Jared's about what a fine timepiece it is and how they have to mail it to Switzerland to the factory to be diagnosed and repaired at a cost of $500 plus, I knew something had to give and began my Yelp search for a reputable watch repair shop. And so here we are. I found this awesome little watch shop just off of I25 on Arapahoe. As I walked into the lobby and was studying the Tenant listing, an older gentleman came in and after a brief discussion concurred that he and I were going to the same place and that he has been going here for years with excellent results. Long and short of it, James repaired my watch for a fraction of what the Fluffer-Jared people were offering and I will be gifting it to my son. The gentleman whose name escapes me, told me that he would not recommend servicing the watch at this time and that it was running well within an acceptable tolerance. The watch had no service history from the seller I purchased it from, so I fully expected it to need servicing right off the bat. It was a pleasant surprise and I very much appreciated Cherry Creek Watch Co's transparency, they very easily could have taken advantage of me and taken my money. Well that was a bold face lie, so I had to call these guys to come out. He set up and fixed my grandfather clock, showed me what he did, showed me how to best keep it in working order. Couple weeks later I pushed the pendulum too hard and it came out of its track. Well they back their work with a 90 day warranty so he just came out right away, fixed it, told me what I did wrong, installed something that will help prevent that from happening and told me what NOT to do. The man is very quiet, doesn't say much, but he definitely speaks through his work, and when he does speak it's to teach you and help you with your clock. I brought a gold chain with a non working clasp and a silver designer ring to be resized. A couple days later they called with the repair estimate for both. I gave them the go ahead on both items. 2 weeks later they called and said the items were ready to be picked up. I went to the shop and was told the chain is repaired but the ring is untouched. The material on the ring is "weak" and if they tried to resize it, "the ring would fall apart". They are relocating next year to Evergreen. Good ridence.
