This charming, historic sweet shop located in Frisco opened in 1946 when Robert and Helen Foote…read morepurchased the property. However, its history goes back even further to the late 1800s. It also once served as the town's post office, general store, and gas station. The main building originally consisted of a one-room, wood plank cabin which is still standing today and attached to the larger white main house. The property expanded into its current state as the years went on. Fixtures from it's heyday as a post office can still be seen in the building which adds to all the charm. Inside you'll find an array of sweets available from individual candies to homemade fudge, homemade ice cream, and more. The ice cream is available by the scoop or as a shake, float, or sundae. I love fudge and got a couple of different flavors. They were really tasty, but also very sweet, so a little goes a long way. My favorite was the Tiger Butter and the Raspberry Swirl. I also got a coffee malted shake which was delicious. I would've wanted it to be a little thicker, but it was good nonetheless. It was a little pricey for what it was, $10.25 for a small shake and around $5 per piece of fudge (about 1/4 pound). Overall, this is a cute stop if you're in the area and craving a bit of sweets and I loved the historical aspect as well. To this day, the historic Foote's Rest landmark still remains in the Foote family.

My friend ordered a burger that was supposed to come with lettuce, blue cheese, and the works. Instead, it arrived with just chicken and bread. That was it. No toppings at all. The water we were given was also incredibly dirty -- it literally looked grey. Service somehow managed to be both overwhelming and nonexistent. While we were eating, the waiter came back to the table every couple of seconds so we couldn't even have a conversation. But when we were actually ready for the check, suddenly there was no waiter anywhere and we fwaited about 15 minutes. On top of that, every request got mixed up. I asked for blue cheese and after about 10 minutes the waiter came back with ranch. Then I asked for lemon vinaigrette (which the meal was supposed to come with) and instead got honey mustard. After explaining again, she came back with... even more honey mustard. We also paid $10 for fries with green chili and received about 15 fries. And one more thing when paying they did NOT bring my card back for about 20 minutes.
