Writing this to hopefully save others the stress I just went through for a major event. As a small…read morebusiness owner myself, I try to support local small businesses whenever possible, but I feel it is important to be honest when a service falls this short of professional standards. I ordered 8 dozen custom cookies for a client's Grand Opening event. I provided a clear brand guide, multiple reference photos, and clear design direction. Unfortunately, the final product did not reflect what was discussed or the quality shown in their portfolio at all. The cookies weren't even presentable. To be honest, I feel like I was totally catfished. I reached out directly to try to resolve things, but we weren't able to come to a resolution. All she had to say was that, in her professional opinion, she believes they look good... so, buyer beware I guess?

I have never written a bad review in my life. Upon communicating with Isabella, I had shared the…read moreexact cookie theme/colors we wanted for my sons first birthday party, in which all was agreed upon with no questions. Isabell agreed to create these cookies for us. When I arrived to pick up the cookies, much to my surprise they were not anything like we had agreed on. I was in tears asking how this happened. Isabella did not apologize for the lack of communication on her end. The cookies were dull in color when we had asked for bright and lively cookies. I cried the entire way home as these were supposed to be a highlight for my sons birthday. When I came home, I respectfully emailed her, asking To have the cookies remade or to make this situation right. We have not heard a word since. Not only that, but I went to go look up on Instagram and she had blocked me! Worst costumer service, worst communication. I would not recommend Isabella nor honey bee cookies as this was such a disappointment, disrespect and lack of professionalism. Picture is what was agreed upon (bright and colorful), other is what we received ( dull, no color and lack of creativity)

Not just one bad cookie... every single one of this design was wonky and had a weird purple/pink spotting in the base color.

Random pink dots on these ones too, but more of a pink rather than a purple like the syringes hahah

I ordered the Bavarian cream/strawberries with original/cinnamon/sugar for the cone. My friend ordered the same cone but with Bavarian cream and apple pie with caramel drizzle. Both exceptional desserts! Next time I may try one with the ice cream! Needless to say, we will be back!

AZ Chimney Cakes specializes in Kürtöskalács, a.k.a chimney cakes, an incredible dessert that originated in Hungary. I have Romanian roots and Kürtöskalács are quite popular in Romania. That's where I had my first chimney cake. Located in the same shopping center as a movie theater, a Japanese restaurant, and a bunch of other businesses, I parked without any issues in the free back lot and walked over. Ambiance (4/5): A cozy dessert shop. I felt right at home when I saw a map of Bucharest by the entrance. You order at the counter and then they bring your order out to you. We sat at a table close to the door. Service (5/5): Friendly service and we were fortunate enough to chat with the owner for quite a bit. We learned about the history of the dessert spot and how they're trying out some new ideas. Nice lady. Drinks (N/A): No drinks for me on this visit. Food (5/5): If you've never has a chimney cake, you're in for a treat. They're made to order and customizable. More so than anywhere I've ever seen. You choose your base, toppings, additions, and drizzles. I went with the traditional chimney cake with Biscoff cookies, vanilla ice cream, and Nutella drizzle. Outside of the dessert options, which are the way to go for first timers, if you're feeling adventurous, they also have one or two savory options. The chimney cakes are served warm and absolutely delicious. They're filling too so come with an appetite. It's one of those things everyone should try at least once in their lifetime. So cool to have them in Mesa!
