Ending up leaving there in tears and coming here and the staff was phenomenal. The previous front desk woman( she has since moved on) sat down with me, explained how every guitar they sell is hand picked, and played every guitar for me. Some more than once until I narrowed down the one I wanted to they helped me pick out what I needed and set me up with lesson. My teacher was also a super chill guy who you could tell truly had a passion for what he does. And the owner is also a very kind man. I now recommend this store to anyone who will listen!

This isn't the first time they have been like that, and I never left review before, but thought today was appropriate. When my husband was alive, he bought a lot of things from them and they have been nothing but slime I would not recommend them for anything. In fact, I would give them a negative rating if I could. They are such a joke. They say that buy things and this guitar was in excellent condition and he even said so and still had the audacity to offer only that. WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS!!!

I called them back later that day and the next day, the manager did not bother to get on the phone with me but was relaying messages to Megan on the phone. They assured me they would be calling me back. The next day. I received a text message letting me know it would be six more weeks and the manager would update me. I had yet to talk to a manager or receive an apology. I texted back that it was unacceptable since they already had it 6 weeks and they lost it. They said they would try to get it done as soon as possible. Two weeks later I was informed the manager would be picking up the instrument and would contact me. A week later Gabe contacted me and was very apologetic for the situation. This was the first apology that I had received. Gabe is the reason this review got one star. He went above and beyond to apologize, communicate and called me more than once. I did get the instrument back. However, when I went to go pick it up, Megan acted like she did not want to help me or recognize that I was in the store. I paid over $300 to have the instrument fixed and my daughter informed me not all the pads were replaced. Very disappointed in this music store and the customer service received. I will be using a different music store in the future

Everything in my original review was true at that time and still is in certain ways. However, I…read morecan't allow a School or Program to hurt our family like it has while leaving them to keep a perfect rating. I don't know how to share our current story in a short way that anyone would bother to read. So I'll say a few quick bullet points. Current instructors - Ray and Julia I give 5 Stars. Matt as well. Ray in particular has really gone out of his way to do anything he can from a teaching perspective. I'm at a loss for why his profile is not included on the website but if you want the best guitar instructor... he's your guy. They need to fix the culture of how students treat each-other and other SoR students from other locations. This used to be one of the most attractive points of the school. Not anymore. School of Rock having Houseband students re-audition every year should stop in my opinion. If a kid is not pulling their weight or meeting expectations then they should be worked with to try and fix it. If they can't, they get pulled from the band. This is not just in regards to instrument talent but every aspect of what being a Houseband member is. Otherwise those positions and aging out positions should be the ones being auditioned for by fresh students. For most families, becoming a Houseband member is the end goal. This is where their dedication towards the School and experience recognizes them as leaders of the school and examples for others. They truly represent that location and are a MAJOR draw to getting signups. This is where they are rewarded by additional training of live gigs around town, bigger audiences, and gain gigging experience to begin their professional journey. Sending them backwards after multiple years of Houseband on their final year at the school, after years of dedication simply due to a score card in a 10 minute audition, is not benefiting anyone. You can't simply "disregard" the history of a student at audition. Their history matters. Lastly, this locations most attractive point to many families was Hazmat the locations houseband. This band just came off playing the Van's Warped Tour last year. Many families like ours have invested so much into the School for that band. Suddenly this summer, they cancelled it against all HB parent feedback. Against what all the HB members wanted. The owners or gm's... someone just wasn't concerned about parent feedback. The SoR website definition for a houseband is being comprised of fellow students from "their school". Now the Roseville students have to audition for Folsom's houseband and practice at that location. That is not representative of what the website says. It was not just unfair to the Roseville Houseband but unfair to the Folsom Houseband as well. We used to feel so incredibly valued. We have put so much of the last 4 years of our lives into this school. We believed in Nay the GM and Cecilia and Jason the owners so much! As fast as they gave us everything for our family, they took it away. They don't realize it's almost equivalent of losing your job. HB families dedicate large portions of their lives to this. Removing a student should not be viewed so lightly followed by "business as usual" lip service. So this is my rating for now. We'll see if the future goes for better or for worse and will update the rating accordingly.
