We have had nothing but best the best experience with The Music Yard. The owner, Jeff, is very professional. He has never failed to respond to my phone calls in a very timely manner. He goes out of his way to find out answers to my questions. Jeff is positive, friendly and always making sure all this clients are happy. We currently rent two instruments from him. And one of my sons takes violin lessons from Ben. Ben is an amazing instructor. My son connected with him right from the start. Ben always provides me with updates on my son's progress, which I really appreciate. And he has inspired and motivated him to improve. The waiting area for parents is very comfortable and accommodating for both parents and sibling who have to sit and wait. There is a TV, toys for kids and I very much appreciate the coffee station. One of the things that makes The Music Yard stand out from other companies is Jeff or one of his employees is ALWAYS there if there are any questions. Love the community spirit that the Music Yard provides. Giving away free instruments to local school, providing excellent and fair customer service on instrument rentals and offering a great lessons program. My son needed a trumpet but we went to the wrong place. After not being happy with the first place I called over to the Music Yard to see if they had any to rent. Alas, it was the beginning of the school year and all were rented. However, they took my information down and as soon as one became available (which was like a week later) they called me. I wasn't lost in the system. The process is easy and parent friendly. Now, not only do we rent for my 10 year old, but my 8 year old is taking drum lessons with Devon. Nicest, most patient person I have EVER met. He is so great with my son who can't keep focus on too much at once. We were lucky to land a spot. After reading the reviews for The Music Yard online we decided to go and check it out in person. Right away we felt like it was a great fit! After almost 3 months she is loving her lessons with Ms. Howton and we are so happy to have found such a wonderful place! The instructors are very friendly and it is overall a warm and fun atmosphere. Her sister and I even enjoy the waiting room which offers comfortable seating, TV, complementary coffee and snacks, plus a little play area for toddlers, and a large clean bathroom. I'd always wanted to take the time to learn to play the piano, but the intimidation of working, being in grad school, and being an adult who knew very little about music always held me back - but boy, I am so glad that my pride didn't keep me from being a beginner and doing something I've always wanted! Oh my goodness, it is so exciting to finally have a great music store close to home. As a piano teacher it was nice to be able to walk in and have all of the lesson books that I normally use available for purchase. The vibe is super great with the rustic wood paneling and a barn door leading into the lesson rooms. Jeff the owner greeted me, was super friendly and made me feel comfortable in the space. I love that they rent out instruments and I would recommend them to anyone. I found my new go to spot for sheet music and instruments. My 6 year old son was very interested in learning piano. His teacher Julia is a wonderful teacher and he has learned an impressive amount in the 2 months he's been taking classes. She is very patient and encouraging. My son looks forward to his lesson each week. The rest of the staff is always very pleasant and helpful. There is a waiting room in the back for parents with ample seating, and a little play/entertainment area for younger siblings. The prices are reasonable and the place is immaculate. We are about 5 months into our guitar lessons at the Music Yard, and have been pleased with every aspect of this small business. The waiting area is very child friendly for my other kids who are not taking currently taking lessons. We often see school friends in the waiting area which is super enjoyable for my other kids. I guess this makes sense as The Music Yard shares a parking area with the new Rocklin Academy Gateway campus. The owners and staff are pleasant and my big family never seems to be a problem. My wife and I have nothing but great things to say about the staff and owners. Our daughter has been going here for almost a year now and it is worth every penny. I have never walked away from a single nights lesson and not felt welcome and happy at the glow on my daughters face. My daughter's voice coach is Lindsey and she has been nothing short of awesome. We recently started piano and violin beginner lessons at The Music Yard and are really enjoying the teacher, facility, and owners. They were very flexible in trying to schedule our two children to minimize our driving time, the facility has a great back room to wait with other little ones that is very entertaining (plus free coffee!), the location is perfect and walkable to many places for quick errands, and I love that I get text message reminders. I take weekly piano lessons with Julia and I look forward to coming here! The facility is so beautiful with a great modern, urban feel. There is a kid's area with a TV, coloring books, and puzzles that keeps my 4 year old occupied during my 30 min lesson. Julia is a fantastic teacher. I took lessons as a teenager and although my teacher was very knowledgable, Julia makes you feel relaxed and let's you decide how technical you want to be. I would recommend the Music Yard to anyone! I forgot the employee's name, I think it was Andy. He was approachable, super helpful, and encouraged me to try everything. He explained how the different types of guitars vary and gave me tips on what to look for when choosing one. He never made me feel pressured to buy anything and even recommended checking out Guitar Center to help me figure out what would be the best fit for me. Took my 7yr old daughter here in hopes that she could burn off some energy and focus on her creative side. We decided to learn the drums. Her drum teacher was fantastic and kindly set the ground rules for us so she could get the most out of each lesson. They had a very flexible schedule with reasonable pricing. The facilities are always clean and well organized. Also, the waiting area is a perfect place to relax for parents! :) We have been busy all summer with vacations, but we were looking forward to resuming lessons in September. read more

We love The Music Yard! I have 3 girls ranging in age from 1st-8th grade all taking piano lessons from Kallie, and it has been an amazing experience for them. The store has a fun atmosphere, the lesson rooms are clean and comfortable, and there's a great waiting area for parents and siblings to hang out (watch tv, have a cup of coffee, play with toys etc.). I searched high and low for low cost piano lessons for my two young sons (ages 6 and 8), and took a chance with The Music Yard. They have been taking lessons here for a few months and absolutely love their piano teacher. This place has been so accommodating with my busy schedule and very patient with my high energy boys. NO deposit and NO 1st/last month required. ALL monthly payments can be applied towards the purchase of the instrument, with no cap off. Since it's a new store, they are still waiting on a shipment of books that my son needs. Luckily, they will deliver to my sons school as soon as they arrive. Great experience. read more
