I think this a great little music shop for the community! I have visited this shop several times and each time they have been friendly, helpful and the information provided has seemed honest and straightforward. Last year I rented a trombone for my son and was told I could apply the rent payments to a new instrument up to 10 month. I thought it was a great option for parents and kids who are unsure if they want to play their instrument long term, or may change their mind. When I came in to do the "swap" it was hassle free and they never tried to upsell me or convince me to spend more than I wanted. One of the guys even suggested that I stick around and wait for the boss to see if he could get me a better deal- I felt like that was a really nice gesture as I was contemplating whether to spend the extra money to upgrade or stick with the basic. They told me the pros and cons of either choice and never made me feel pressured to go either way. I appreciate a business like this because as everything gets more expense in this economy, it is important that our kids can continue to do extra curricular activities such as music without having parents pay an arm and a leg for something that their kids may not stick with. The cost of the rental was reasonable and my son got to use a really nice instrument for the time being! If you are in the market looking for a place to rent, service, repair or buy an instrument, I definitely recommend this place. Its nothing like a guitar center and they don't have a bunch of inventory lying around, but the people seem honest and appear to being doing this type of work for the love of music, the kids and the community. This place was highly recommended by my daughter's music teachers during band camp. One of the flute pads was getting stuck and it was fixed within minutes. However, since my daughter wasn't careful with her flute overall, it has some leaks and dents which I had them fix at a later date. On the drop off date, they were able to fix it within a few years and her flute is good as new. The customer service is great and they were really friendly and helpful. I brought my Bogner twin tube amplifier to the crew and although it took a bit of time they did a very intricate detailing cleaning of my amplifier. I was in dire need of my guitar pick up being fixed and I took it into tag Music and they fixed it right on the spot! It turns out it wasn't as broken as I thought it was. These men were very cordial and my guitar sounds better than ever! By the looks of what was hanging around in their shop, they also sell wind like guitars, trumpets, trombones and saxophones and flutes. This was what I would call a one stop music shop. They were quick, honest and very helpful when fixing our saxophone. We bought two used instruments and had them looked over by their repair guy. He came out to take a look at them upon drop off. One he fixed on the spot and repaired the vent bell. The other needed a little more work and was completed in a week. Cost was very reasonable and both play great now. I've been shopping numerous places locally to find an acoustic electric guitar (along with on-line, I've been to 4 music stores), and was expecting it would cost me $500-1000 to find something I really liked. I found Tague Music by asking google to find music store near me. I went in to see if they had anything 'd like, and a young guy suggested I should consider adding electronics to my old Art & Lutherie Cedar Acoustic - it made me feel pretty stupid because that had never crossed my mind, and no one at any of the other stores had suggested it. It took them a couple days, and I just picked it up, and it's fabulous -- the sound is crisp, clean and balanced! They also did a basic set up and replaced the saddle. It was great to play before, but now it's even easier. This was under $300!! And I didn't end up having to get a different guitar. I feel bad that I didn't get any names, but the three guys I met were outstanding, and they have a great dog on site! read more

i was hoping that these guys were going to be my guitar people because i read and heard good things about them but when i recently gave them a les paul with a perfect finish on the back, i got ir back scratched to hell! i couldn't see it in the light of their shop but i left there and went to guitar center to try it out on different amps, i was horrified to see a long scratch from top to bottom across the middle of the back of the body, there are back and forth scratches from some careles p.o.s. playing it! it will cost hundreds if not over 1k to repair the finish! thanks for that you assholes! I've left my pedal in for repair over a year ago. It was transfered from the strum shop. I've not heard from them since. Hopefully it's even still there. I got my acoustic guitar tuned up here and couldn't be happier. Brien was very helpful and fixed my guitar quickly for a good price. I thought making adjustments to my bridge (basically replacing it) was going to cost me more than the guitar was worth but it turned out to be very affordable. Chris has been repairing my kids flute, piccolo and clarinet since 2009. He is trusted to handle local school's instruments repairs as well. Service has included quick adjustments while I wait, to overnight/few day more serious repairs. Pricing is reasonable and sometimes waaaay less than I anticipated yet the repairs are always done well. A few times the problem reoccurred (not due to poor repair, just issue instrument had) and there was no charge to fix it again, or again, even though he could.
