Both my boys started taking piano lessons at age 6. They had gone through several piano teachers. Almost all of them were referred by the people in the music profession. But none of those teachers worked out for my boys. To the point, my boys had lost their interest in piano completely. My husband and I were forced to quit their lessons until we found Imagine Music Instruction. About three years ago, my friend told me that her son was taking guitar lessons at Imagine Music Instruction. She was impressed by the progress that her son made in a short period of time. I was skeptical about it. But I persuaded my boys to take a trial lesson. That was the end of the story. My boys have been with the same teacher since then. My boys are 10 and 12 now. Not only they can play Sonatina in C major, original version of Fur Elise, modern Jazz pieces, etc, but also they look forward to meeting with their teacher for their weekly lessons. Now they love to play piano. There are a lot of teachers who are very knowledgeable about piano, but only a few of them have the ability to be able to connect with kids. It has been such a delightful surprise and pleasure to be introduced to IMI. If they had been around when I was taking lessons as a child, I would have been through the roof inspired. The teachers that I've had the opportunity to meet, have been very sweet, easy to communicate with as well as musically motivated. There are multiple opportunities to get involved in bands at any level or age group. Playing music with others is an experience all it's own, very special and is becoming very rare in a learning environment! Importantly the facility is clean, and also artistically decorated and colorful which makes it a great place to hang out. An added benefit is that, they teach such a wide array of instruments, which is especially great for expanding musical skill as well as for curious minds. Overall, well done IMI! read more

My 9 year old son Cole has been taking guitar lessons from David Albertson for the past year and it has been a great experience thus far. David is a very caring and inspirational teacher, guiding his students at their own pace while gently pushing them to the next level to the best they can be. The studio chooses age appropriate and popular music for the kids to learn which helps motivate them since they can relate to it. They have recitals several times per year which really helps inspire the younger kids like my son, when he sees the older kids rocking out. My son has taken music lessons from David for about two years, acoustic and now he's into jazz guitar. Seeing how fun it is, I have started guitar lessons myself. It is difficult to learn an instrument as an adult and finding time to practice, but David is patient and practical in his teaching. David is a gifted, multi instrumentalist; I don't even know if I can name all the instruments he plays. He and his wife (the Albertson Duo) also perform at special events and restaurants (she's a singer). What a lovely couple. We followed them to an event last night, enjoying dinner and a wonderful band/singing performance. read more

love this place! great enviroment, awesome instructors, so many oppurtunties to learn and develop a real understanding and appreciation for music. love matt and his crew of dedicated professionals. they encourage, mentor and go the extra mile. my daughter has loved learning guitar here, she has flourished under matts' tutelage and her self esteem has soared. as a bonus, they offer special interest groups(beattles, rock, ect) and have show cases to high light the growth of the students and give them a chance to perform in a live setting. i can't recommend them enough to anyone wanting to learn. thanks imagine. read more

This is a great music studio. The instructors are not only talented, but they also know how to successfully teach students of all ages (from adults to young kids.) I know this because the recitals are proof...I'm always impressed when I watch IMI students perform. My son has been taking guitar lessons here for 18 months. He started at age 7, and I knew it would take the right person to be able to work with such a young kid. IMI has exceeded my expectations in all categories! This is great place for people of any age and of any experience level. They offer lessons in guitar, bass, piano, voice, and/or violin. The instructors are all friendly, experienced and knowledgeable. The best part is that they offer additional time and instruction to existing students under the free programs titled as various "bands". If you have not heard about this, it gives the students not only additional face time with the instructors but allows them real life experience with band situations and live performance beyond your traditional recitals. read more

My son has been taking guitar lessons for 3 years at IMI Music Instruction. The music teachers are all awesome!! You can really see how dedicated these teachers are. One of the best things about IMI is that they offer free evening programs such as Rock, Jazz, Blues, Beatles and Dad's Band's and perform at various local venues. All of the students families and friends attend the performances and support the students love for music. This is such an amazing perk to being a student at IMI. IMI - what an amazing find! My 15 year old daughter has been taking guitar lessons at this wonderful music studio for a year now. Her patient teacher, Matt Pinder, is a gifted, enthusiastic and knowledgable musician. All the teachers I have met at IMI love what they do - it shows! I give 5 stars for IMI instructors specially to a very multi talented instructor David Albertsons. He is very patient on teaching our 7 year old daughter in cello and taught her very good and I can't believe at the young age my daughter rocks with a cello. Not only do they have great teachers, but the teachers are great musicians/performers. The students also have awesome opportunities to practice and perform together, teaching them the love of music, whether or not they pursue it just for fun or professionally. The environment is very positive and encouraging (even for those who don't practice!) ...and the teachers are just "good people." read more

Lauren Wood is an exceptional teacher. She teaches my son guitar and he is making great progress. He had previously studied with another teacher (at a different store) and wasn't getting it. Once we switched to Lauren, he just took off. She is extremely patient and has an inherent ability to connect well with her students. If I could give her more than 5 stars I would!! read more

We've had such a great experience with Matt at IMI! Both of my daughters have been taking lessons and while they are at very different skill levels, Matt has worked with them both very patiently.
