Whole team of decorators you'll see fine tuning lighting, flower arrangements, final things with true care and artist's perfectionism till guests arrive. Amazing detail, impressive flexibility with last minute needs we always manage to throw their way the day-of. Food is not banquet food, truly. Always excellent. A few times we have had a "world food station-based" type of dinner event I myself would opt for every time. The Mediterranean station had these simple but perfect bite-sized options all stacked into a tower, and the Asian fusion corner included a visiting sushi chef with his assistants. No limit of this stuff, wow! Our coordinator and I offer kudos to Beth and the teamwork she brings to the full-service, no work to the client, efficiency. True pros are present even till the end of the night, making sure service flows without interruption.

If we had more time and wanted to spend more it would have been easy to waste more hours on the court or playing skeeball, cornhole, or pool. I don't understand why fun places like this aren't available widely, that's how fun it was. Do watch out while you're playing, as it's easy to overshoot your target and slam your biscuits into someone's feet playing next door or sitting at a table. However, the bartender told them to pour their drinks into a styrofoam cup and bring it in. Again no! That will get our event shut down. The bartender was rude to our guest, swearing at kids, overcharging our guest for drinks. We had guest tell us they were charged $4 for pop when on contract it was $2,$6 for cranberry with no alcohol, someone charged $14 for a pop and a high noon,as well charging men less then women and after the wedding reception we were told she served someone underage alcohol as she wasn't checking IDs. My husband asked the bartender nicely for help opening the champ bottles. The bartender old him, "I'm your bartender not your fucking event coordinator. Go find her". My husband was soon down with that and went to go find her. He told the event coordinator either we get a new bartender or no more drinks. She called the owner of the place and said if she leaves, no more drinks. My husband said okay, he got on the mic and asked everyone if they wanted any more drinks. Everyone said no and he turned to the coordinator and said "get her the fuck out" to the bartender. Many people have asked us if we believe that the bartender was acting the way she did because it was two gay guys getting married and I honest believe that. If we had a choice to pick our own bartender it would be different. After the reception we found out the catering service we had was denied heating elements and utensils. Just not the stove. When our catering service asked for help and assistance, the coordinator said under her breath, "what kind of catering company are you, you fucking Mexican." My husband's aunts stepped up to help the catering company we had. When we brought up the issues with the owner of the event hall about the bartender and underage serving. He brushed it off as it was nothing. My husband informed the owner that someone recorded him going off on the mic and uploaded it online and how it's going viral. The owner said that was unprofessional of that person. But yet it wasn't unprofessional how the bartender and coordinator acted? It was gorgeous, with an electric fireplace and great view. Yes it is pricey, but for one night it is a nice splurge. Look at it this way... There is a free public parking lot right across the street - No parking fees. It is a very short walk to and from the Jet Express and the restaurants and shops on Columbus Ave. (such a cute and bustling area) - No ride share fees. Also no worries about driving back to the property after having a "few" cocktails at Put In Bay. That can save thousands of dollars right there! Yes you can hear some noise from the street, the restaurant's outdoor patio downstairs and the rooftop bar, but it is not overly loud and earplugs are provided. You are in the heart of Sandusky! Embrace it or consider a stay somewhere less convenient. This particular room would not be great for an extended stay, as there are no drawers to put your clothes in, but there is a bench with plenty of hooks and a few hangers that is sufficient for a day or two. Be sure to check the Jet Express schedule for Sandusky if that's the reason for choosing this property. I found out the hard way, a few years ago, that this location's season ends earlier than Port Clinton's. I believe they are done after Labor Day weekend.

Both rooms had space heaters, so we were fine. Noticed the room provides ear plugs. Staff said if it was noisy it should quiet down after midnight when the bar closed. That said, we didn't notice any noise. food and beverage We drank at and Yelped both Oh Taco downstairs and Moseley's Rooftop Bar upstairs. In addition, within walking distance is a surprisingly vibrant restaurant scene, with everything from gastropub to sushi. The next morning, we brunched and Yelped Wake Up and Waffle. Who knew Sandusky was a foodie town? staff Front desk staff was professional and polite. Great recommendations and suggestions. Desk is not staffed after midnight, but they have a number you can call. Desk also not staffed in the morning. You just drop your keys and go! There is a local gift shop in the lobby which has some cool, local options. location This is a renovated three-story building in the heart of downtown. Something like nine rooms total, plus the restaurant and bar. Free surface parking is across the street.

I booked for my friend's bachelorette party and I am beyond thankful I found them. The original bar we went to wasn't what we expected. I was so stressed because I wanted the bride to be happy. Since Racquel and DaMante are so amazing and attentive, they checked on us and offered to take us to other spots in town. Since they had connections, we were able to go to all the best spots! At one bar, DaMante took over the entire place and became the DJ and hype man. It was like a movie. He made the place come alive and we would have had a boring night without them. Above and beyond would be an understatement. They were also so caring and patient looking after 20+ women having a good time! The vibes and service were immaculate and I will forever cherish this experience and how happy it made my friend. Everyone couldn't stop talking about how much fun they had all thanks to Racquel and DaMante. Incredible humans and business. Also, Racquel is a fantastic owner. It seems that a large majority are managed by a few vacation rental management companies, so could explain why some had different experiences than others. As some other reviewers stated, yes the rooms are small.. but it's a historic hotel. If you've ever stayed anywhere historic, this is pretty common. Nothing unusual. The room was clean and pleasant. Due to it being a holiday, I'm sure the rate was a bit higher because this hotel is centrally located. This is the upside, you can walk to everything from the hotel. Parking was included and plentiful, and the self-check in/out was smooth. As some have noted, the instructions come by email so make sure you watch for that. Overall I have nothing bad to say about it- worked out great for us for what we wanted.

Super close to the Marblehead Lighthouse. They have many outdoor sitting and eating areas and a fire pit for your use. We walked over to the water and found lots of fossils embedded in the limestone which was so fun. Did have a nasty neighbor, Mr. Dorko, (I identified him through social media and property tax info) come over and yell at us about property lines while my daughter was playing in the water. He also used a bright spotlight to shine on my adult daughter while she was sitting by the water around dusk on another evening. Other than the a**hole neighbor, very highly recommended! We'll definitely be back!
