I booked for my friend's bachelorette party and I am beyond thankful I found them. The original bar we went to wasn't what we expected. I was so stressed because I wanted the bride to be happy. Since Racquel and DaMante are so amazing and attentive, they checked on us and offered to take us to other spots in town. Since they had connections, we were able to go to all the best spots! At one bar, DaMante took over the entire place and became the DJ and hype man. It was like a movie. He made the place come alive and we would have had a boring night without them. Above and beyond would be an understatement. They were also so caring and patient looking after 20+ women having a good time! The vibes and service were immaculate and I will forever cherish this experience and how happy it made my friend. From that point on I no longer had phone conversations with anyone everything had to be done via text. When I asked if someone could call she stated no she is very busy as she wears many hats. Fast forward to the time of our party!! UGH they had 5 tables reserved with a white tablecloth on them thats it no salt/pepper no water nothing. Okay fine we can overlook that. The food was finally served and they put out a tossed salad that was big enough for 1 person, when we went to ask for more they stated sorry we have no more lettuce in the whole place. We were supposed to get rolls and butter nope they didn't have those either. When we went to the bar for beer they ran out of that as well we had to change what we drank. The roasted carrots where hard the potatoes where spungy. The chicken was DRY as the saraha desert. The lasagna was very good. We ran out of food!!! We had to go to the bar and ask if they had any more they said oh yes we will get someone to bring more. They brought our more lasagna and some cabbage that they called a salad but never brought out any chicken. We had to ask for salt and pepper, and more plates. No one cleaned off the tables after dinner we had to bus our own tables and put them on an empty table. One of our guests bit into a bite of chicken and pulled out a 3" piece of dark hair that had food attached to it. The desert constisted of cheesecakes from Sams Club. No one came to check on us at all during the evening, we had to go ask where we were set up, and had to ask when food was going to be served. When we went up to pay they did take money off the bill because we complained but then turned around and charged us a 20% gratuity. Why, why didn't we get to say what we wanted to pay because we had no service other than the bartenders getting the drinks. I do not recommend this facility RUN!!! We thoroughly enjoyed being able just to maneuver around the resort. There were a lot of places to walk and relax. Parking was easily accessible outside. It's also close to a lot of the things that we wanted to do while we were on our trip. We also were able to eat breakfast and dinner at the resort. There was a barista that was able to make Starbucks coffee. I do wish the market area was open a little later or that there was area to get late night snacks if needed. I do feel that the resort was extremely nice and I would stay here again given the opportunity, despite our mishap when we first got there.

I have to give a special shoutout to Kayla who was awesome checking us in! The lobby was decorated for Halloween and looked super festive and fun, so that was a nice welcome after a bit of a long travel day. The amenities are pretty good, with an indoor pool, fitness center, free breakfast, and a little snack area to buy items. Our room had a mini fridge, which I always appreciate to keep my water cold. The shower didn't drain well, but the bed was comfy. The room was a bit loud, but I sleep with earplugs so that doesn't really bother me. Our room had a door to the next room, which I always think is kind of weird if you're not with a group that you are traveling with, but we didn't have any issues. We could definitely hear people in the adjoining room talking, though. The location is nice and super easy to get downtown, plus you have a huge entertainment complex right next door with bowling, a bar, sports book, laser tag, etc. There was plenty of parking in the lot when we were there.

We don't know - what did we find? Water left in a tub! LEFT. IN.A.TUB. HOW LONG?! Who knows?! When I immediately complained, all they did was send someone to clean the tub. Did this work? Absolutely not. The room absolutely REEKED of mildew. The next night, I could NOT stand it. I asked for spray. How does one sleep with mold filling their room and no way to vent or open a window?! There were 6 people staying in this room. Four adults and two children under 8. Our room was at the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuurthest end of the hall, which leads one to believe it's forgotten about... The second offense were the crumbs and the blood left on the pull/ out bed (which in and of itself was an absolutely terrible bed for sleeping. You could feel every piece of hardware holding that crappy bed together.) Knowing that we JUST opened the pull-out bed and there were crumbs in it - NOPE! Not only was there crumbs, but when we took the actual sheets off, because we also had to do that ourselves as well, there was old BLOOD ON the sheets! As a woman, we know what old blood looks like and it was on this bed on the sides tucked in. That's unacceptable. Before we went to go to sleep, we saw 8 lovely legs creeping beneath another bed. Imagine what we didn't see. On Sunday, we stripped the sheets and piled them on all the beds and BOTH mattress were covered in yellow stains. Sweat? Urine? Who knows...?! The staff was less than enthusiastic for an environment that's supposed to cater to kiddos. Seriously, if you don't like kids, don't work there? The 'dance party' for the kids last maybe a half hour. If that? Who does that? And it's in the 'lobby' of the main entrance where there's a giant boat with barnacles, a mast you can light up and a talking-tube that goes up to the second floor. That's it. Literally. The rest is hotel and one craft room and arcades that charge you extra if you're not 'VIP'. Very few staff working the food places or around to ask about it. The best employee interaction came from a lovely girl in the late hours, when asked if the dock was okay to walk on, could we get back in, etc. She was so polite and friendly! I didn't see her name tag, but she had a bow in her hair - (Thank you for showing compassion and courtesy!) On Sunday, the slides were 'shut down' in random locations, we assumed it was due to a lack of staff since they slowly opened up after noon, but by then a good chunk of people are leaving due to check out. In the end, our visit was disappointingly-lack-luster and downright unsanitary. I expected more from a location dedicated to kiddos and their families. Even in the beginnings of the 'off season' as Halloweekend is around the corner, I had higher hopes. I understand 'bad days' and 'off weeks' but what I didn't understand was the lack of genuine care in a company that literally houses hundreds of families throughout one season. It said opened in 2004?. 22 years and this is the best you think you can do? In a world full of chaos, kids need fun and good memories. Do better Castaway Bay, do better!

The biggest issue was that you MUST wear a life jacket if you are under 56 inches. (4ft 8in), that's even if a parent is with you and the max depth of the pool is 4 feet. Within 10 minutes my kids who are 6 and 7 were bored and disappointed. We booked for 2 nights and left after 1 and went to a neighboring similar business for a night and had a lot more fun. Just not for us.
