I decided to take my sister here right after her graduation at CCA. We stopped by around 12:30, which is 30 minutes after they opened. There was no one in line, but the surrounding seating area was full of people and very busy overall. The young man working inside the rocket was very nice and had our ice cream out in no time. The whole interaction lasted no more than three minutes. I ordered the strawberry cheesecake in a waffle cone and thought that it was delicious. There were lots of small cheesecake bites and the strawberry wasn't too overpowering. My sister got the salted oreo in a medium cup and the portion was perfect. Some classic rock music playing, lights crisp-crossing the seating area, and tables situated to enjoy the warm night, music and ice cream. Rocket offers a walk-up window to order either ice cream, ice cream sandwiches or frozen lemonade. We opted for ice cream in cones- Cookie Monster and a Raspberry-Brownie ice cream. It was rich, with the add-ins of cookie pieces and brownies evenly mixed into every bite. There were some unique flavors in the ice cream sandwiches that I wish were available for cones too. (I'm guessing this is a genius way to use the excess ice cream from previous days' flavors.) We will surely be back, at night to enjoy the scene. read more

We visited on a hot Monday afternoon in early August, before buying tickets to Wings Over the Rockies. The ice cream shop is adjacent to the museum. The shop has service windows on 3 or 4 sides, with a misting device to both cool off customer and accentuate the rocket motif of the large sculpture on top of the shop. You check the menu board and order at the window. They have tables with shade umbrellas / sails nearby. There is also a table with free ice water, which was very welcome the day we went. The selection is from about 15 flavors; it may vary, but since we only went the one time, I couldn't say. Each of the 3 people in our party found something that they liked. I love this ice cream shop, they always have a great variety of flavors and they have great prices as well. You are never shorted either on the amount of ice cream you get. I had the chocolate and the cinnamon churro in a medium cup and both were amazing! The cinnamon churro tasted just like cinnamon toast crunch ice cream and was just fantastic, then the chocolate was rich and creamy and was just as good! I had four huge scoops in my cup and it was a lot of ice cream but well worth the money. My boyfriend had the dulce de leche and it was so good!!! It tasted like caramel and just was fantastic. A really cool spot with a beer garden, coffee shop and some restaurants. My girlfriend and I went to Rocket Ice Cream close to closing time, but the employees were more than happy to serve us. They won't even put a scoop of ice cream in a cup from Copper Door, something that every other ice cream shop near a coffee shop has done without hesitation so the adults can enjoy an Affagato (1 scoop of your favorite ice cream with 2 shots of Expresso) . In summary, if you want a fun family experience make the trek to Little Man. If you can't get to Little Man, I'd like to take the opportunity to suggest High Point Creamery where the Ice Cream is delicious and the teenagers serving it seem happier and more well adjusted and kinder, much kinder toward the little kids who still have stars in their eyes and dreams of ice creams. Oh, and they'll happily put a scoop of their ice cream in a Novo Coffee cup, so you can get your Affagato without negatively impacting our already human stressed environment by creating further unnecessary waste in our landfills. Came here yesterday 7/26/2018 for something sweet after dinner. I got the oat and rum ice cream in a waffle cone, the ice cream was amazing and the warm waffle cone was a treat. My boyfriend got 3 different scoops of ice cream and was a happy camper. The only reason for the 3 star review was the service. We stopped in around 7pm, and the maybe teenage blonde girl who was working the cash register did not say hi or ask how we were at all (the receipt says 20003 Victoria, but not sure if that is her name). There was no line so I don't understand the lack of attention to being greeted in a kind or welcoming manner. She got even ruder as I was signing my credit card receipt to tip and was making sure it was legible. She rudely interjected as I was finishing the tip line, "thats good, I can take it", like me making sure my tip was legible was annoying to her. Really disappointing. At least four of the 12 or so flavors were Oreo related. My husband only eats mint chocolate chip and had the mint Oreo, only to find himself searching for any Oreo at all. I unfortunately ordered the Cookie Monster, which was my fault for not looking or trying ahead of time! It tasted like... nothing? My husband tried it and also said it tasted like nothing. Very strange experience, and with the amount of high quality ice cream shops in the area, we'll stick to a place with a better product, even if it's not inside of a rocket ship. I've checked this place out twice so far. It's now the closest ice cream joint to my house, and I really wanted it to be great. Sad to report, they're just...Meh. I have tried 4 flavors: Butterscotch: tastes like a decent vanilla and not much else. French Toast: cinnamon, with big chunks of cinnamon toast crunch cereal throughout. Cereal has a soggy, off putting texture. I was hoping for at least a little maple flavor based on the name. Asteroid chocolate: not very chocolatey, with a swirl of "fudge" that reminds me of Hershey syrup. Rocket fuel: my least favorite. The ice cream base was icey, crystallized and bland; speckled with gritty and bitter coffee bits. It should be noted that Rocket doesn't make their own ice cream, they serve Little Man's product. I never thought that Little Man lived up to the hype in the first place, but it seems like Rocket serves their ice cream colder, contributing to how bland everything was. The nail in the coffin, for me, is that they don't have sugar cones. So, if you want a cone, you can have a cake cone (which is only for soft serve in my book) or pony up the $1.25 upcharge for a waffle cone. read more

I can't eat normal ice cream since I'm incredibly lactose intolerant to the point where lactaid pills won't help me. I was extremely excited to see they had vegan/dairy free options! And it wasn't boring flavors like "vanilla". They actually had exciting flavors. I got a single scoop salted Oreo ice cream and it was delicious but I will add it was superrrrr sweet. I decided to get it in a waffle cone and I wish I didn't. Only because of the sprinkles around the rim. It was a bit much for me. But overall, the place the great, the service was great. I have been here 4 times since they have opened and the last two times have been a disappointment. I love the product, Little Man Ice Cream is the bomb especially Salted Oreo and Space Junkie (black raspberry and fudge). My issue is their lack of consistency with the sizes. For example tonight I ordered and was charged for a double scoop and it was the same exact size as my wife's who split a single scoop between 2 flavors. I have gone to Little Man for years, I know the size it is supposed to be and I know a double should not be the same quantity as a single split. I just felt like I have been donating the extra money.
