Cute little candy store right in the middle of Deep Ellum. They have a ton of candy and even some throwback candies you don't see at the grocery store. Tons of soda pop options and little gag gifts everywhere. A fun place to stop and get your sweet fix. Grab extra to take home for the next day. read more

So So Soda Pop Imagine a place that you could go to pick up any flavor soda. Well Rocket Fizz would be the place you'd go while in Dallas. After having lunch across the street at Pecan lounge my family and I were walking back to the car and my husband who loves some old school string candy noticed this place and said he wonder if they would have some. We went on over and upon entering our infant son who walks basically jumped out my husband arms because of all the colors around the store. There was a wall when you enter of sodas in bottles, everything from pickle soda to tuna soda and everything in between. The shelves were stocked with all kinds of different things that I wouldn't dare consume like crispy crickets and worms I mean just all types of things. My daughter ended up with red dum dums after digging through she only found one and the nice staffer went in back and pulled her out several more from the backroom stash which was super nice. We also brought a pomegranate ginger ale which we love and purchase from World Marker often. Nice store but be careful letting the children down as there is so much stuff for them to get into. read more

Very cool place for soda connoisseurs and candy lovers! My son loved this place and their pickle flavored cotton candy.

Wow, these guys got everything! They had a few things that I've been searching for for years!

Fun, fun, fun! That is the best descriptor I can come up with for this fun addition to Deep Ellum! Carbonated beverages, candies, toys and gifts grace the shelves and cases, leaving all who enter with a sense of childlike wonder. To start with, Rocket Fizz is filled with sodas (or pops, depending on what part of the country you come from) of every flavor imaginable. Yes, they have your usual root beers and colas (a full fridge of different varieties of each, in fact), but they also have a plethora of flavors and styles you've probably never imagined, or have maybe just seen antique signs for. New York Seltzer?? I didn't know they still made those... Organic cane sugar sodas, so I can pretend it's actually healthy... Dictator-themed varieties with hilarious (if dark) names like Kim Jong Ill's Nuclear Orange Blast and Fidel Castro's Havana Banana sit next to Ranch Dressing, Bacon or Peanut Butter & Jelly flavored sodas... The possibilities here are wildly entertaining! As for the candy, there are the classic five and dime type candies like salt water taffy and classic movie candies in vintage style packaging. There are also imported candies from Europe such as Germany's Ritter Sport chocolate, British Smarties and Aero bars, and Turkish Delight. Then there are those super fun ones from childhood like giant Pixie Stix, candy necklaces, Zotz and PopRocks. If you're on a diet, you can still have fun at Rocket Fizz though, because they have a fun and humorous selection of gift items as well. Vintage style signs that grace every '50s themed place cover the walls. There are bobble-heads of Star Wars characters and superheroes. Kooky items made by Fred and Accoutrements including Squirrel Underpants, hands for the tips of your fingers and an inflatable Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner are in abundance, also providing plenty of laugh therapy during your visit, and who doesn't need to laugh a little more?? Even if you are just in Deep Ellum for a few minutes, it's worth the stop. I really want this store to stick around awhile... read more

After eating at Pecan Lodge, we decided to walk around and came across this little place. Since my friend has never had salt water taffy, we decided to come in to get some. This place was filled with different kinds of candies and sodas. The whole wall to the right had an array of salt water taffy as well as candies from my childhood such as chik o sticks and the strawberry hard candies. The prices were reasonable $5.99 for a small bag and $7.99 for a big bag. We started with the big bag, but that was way too much candy. We opted for the smaller bag, and that was still plenty. There were interesting taffy flavors such as buttered popcorn, rum, sangria, etc... There were at least 40 different flavors. Overall, this place was super cute and interesting. The staff was nice as well. I'd definitely come back. read more

Rocket Fizz - Candy Stores Near Me - Deep Ellum, Texas

This cool, retro, and fun soda pop and candy shop went under new management as of August 2020. I have been frequenting this little gem quite often for a few years now and it is a new adventure each time I go! If you or your parents, grandparents, or even great grandparents are looking for that hard to find candy you grew up on, I bet 9/10 times Rocket Fizz will have it! You can spend an hour or two in this store just going down memory lane!! The staff here is excellent! They are knowledgeable, helpful, and very friendly. If they don't carry a particular candy you're looking for, if they can get it, the manager will start ordering it to carry in the store for you! Oh, and to Curt C., you were very wrong in your Yelp review stating, "I didn't see Mentos and diet coke as there is nothing diet here"... Well there are many different flavors of Mentos and an entire DIET/SUGAR FREE selection in BOTH candy AND soda (on the shelves and in the cooler). If you didn't see it, ask any of the staff because they will be happy to assist you in finding anything you can't find in this store that is completely stuffed with candy, soda, toys, gags, tin signs, concert posters, magnets, and more!! read more

Was up in Wichita Falls Texas for the hotter than hell 100 bike race and Trail race. Heading back home to Houston, my friend and I always stop at Pecan Lodge to get some good barbecue. We saw this place when we left Pecan Lodge and walked in. I am the root beer connoisseur. I've got an extensive root beer bottle collection. Some people are coming sewers of wine, I'm a connoisseur of root beer. Walk into this place and just about flipped my wig when I saw over a hundred different brands of root beer that I've either only read about in reviews or have never heard of before. I was kicking myself in the rear because I didn't have an extra $100 to spend. But I did buy three or four bottles of root beer that I have never heard of before. I always buy two bottles, one to taste and one for the collection. I'm definitely making a special road trip back to this place with at least $100 in my pocket. read more

Great store and great service! They were able to accommodate a large order on short notice. They were also very helpful in finding new things and thinking out of the box for an order. Don't bother.... waste of money and time. There is a Rocket Fizz in Corpus Christi Texas that is wonderful, fun, with fresh candy and awesome customer service. This one total opposite. Parking is a nightmare ,being right across from Pecan lodge. Hard to locate very small. Walk in ... no one in the store... creepy!!! I call out still no one... then a girl comes out, looking annoyed, stands in middle of the shop while I pick my candy. All the candy was sticky on the outside... reminding you of that old candy dish your grandmother had, where the candy "never" changed and covered by a light layer of dust. The ginger chews fused together.... the taffy all crystallized and the chocolate a grayish color inside. All this I discovered at home. The only reason for two stars is out of respect for the Corpus Christi location. A word of Advice; get some fresh candy and hire employees who give a Damn!!!! read more

A fantastic little candy store that's unlike other stores I've been to in this area. Good selection of speciality candy. The fill a bag deal is pretty good, though that selection is just small prepackaged pieces and taffy. Still great though and lots of interesting sodas and toys. And cardboard cutouts are even for sale as well. Lots of stuff to look at and a always a nice stop to make when I'm in Deep Ellum. read more

Great nugget of a store. Ha ha. Owners are very friendly. Amazing selection of all types of candy. Have nostalgic sweets and regular ones you can find at other stores. Prices seemed a bit high but I would much rather give my money to this place than to some big corporate drugstore on the corner. Rocket Fizz also has a variety of tin signs for sale. Definitely worth a stop in. read more
