A Sweet Spot in Chattanooga! Rocket Fizz is one of my favorite chain stores to visit whenever I travel, and the Chattanooga location is truly a gem! We had just wrapped up a fun-filled afternoon at the pinball museum down the street and decided to walk over for a treat--best decision ever. The store is bright, clean, and packed wall-to-wall with colorful candies, vintage sodas, nostalgic toys, and quirky gifts. It's like stepping into a time capsule of fun. The displays are well-organized and make browsing a total blast. Whether you're hunting for your favorite childhood candy or looking to try a bacon-flavored soda just for laughs, this place has it all. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, happy to answer questions and chat about some of the more unusual flavors on the shelves. The staff person was nice and even let me top of the bag. I will say it was nice ambiance: no blasting music or abrasive welcome when I entered. They have I believe 90 different flavors of taffy, which is wild! Naturally I had to get one of each, duh. They had another 3/4 of the store that I only glanced at. They truly do have a lot of options so if you are looking for something specific they probably have it. This is a great spot to casually check out while walking by. They also had drinks. In my mind, this is more of a sweets shop because of the variety. I was expecting more of a scoop-style like a classic candy shop where they have bins that are covered. All the options for putting into bags are individually wrapped. I was perfectly happy with that and it makes sense from an operational angle. I love a good cold root beer and they had some choices. I took home 4 that day but might go back for more. Big place full of candy and snacks etc. all your old drinks that you can't find anywhere. The cashier was a little weird but nice. It's a pretty big place and they are packed with stuff. It's a good let's go check it out type of place. read more

We came here a little while ago and found this to be a neat store that's filled with every kind of nostalgic candy that you can think of. There are also so many soda flavors to choose from that come in the glass bottles. You can find all of the traditional soda flavors. However, they even have some weird ones that we were too scared to try! I saw a Bacon flavored soda and even a ranch flavored soda, along with a corn on the cob flavor. I stuck with a traditional bottled soda. There is so much candy in this store. Just when you think that you have seen all of the candy, there is still more towards the back of the store. I also like some of the signs and other neat stuff that they have in the store. I think that it is a fun shop to browse around and look at some of the interesting things that they have. Checkout was also a breeze and they had great customer service. I will definitely visit again when I'm in Chattanooga. read more

Candy and sodas galore. The store associates were friendly. The bulk candy is pay by the bag or piece not the pound which, if you're a parent, you'll appreciate. Just be mindful of how your kiddos inevitable sugar rush will impact your plans afterward - haha! If you have adventurous taste buds, check out the soda selection. Where sweet-toothed candy lovers congregated for confections! This store had every type of candy and some hundreds of flavors of bottled soda pop to offer. I came in wandering inside and marveling at all the display of retro candies, bottled soda pops and throwback items like gag gifts & toys and nostalgic tin signs. The store offered vintage and hard-to-find candies that were popular in the 1960s, '70s and '80s. As a grownup I was excited to see some of my favorite classic candies that I haven't seen since my childhood -- Now&Later (vanilla), Zagnuts, Pop Rocks... some in their retro wrappers. Not sure how many of these franchise stores are still open throughout the states but this candy store is located in downtown Chattanooga TN just next door from the boba place where we got our smoothie drinks. One-Star for ME!! I saw these KitKat chocolate in a display cart towards the front of the store. I grabbed 2 of the Hazelnut Crunch and 1 Cookie Crumble. Without checking how much they are I took my 3 chocolate bars to the cashier... then she said, "that'll be $36." My eyeballs almost popped out of its sockets and I was shocked, to say the least. Candy, candy and candy followed by soda , soda and soda! Hundreds to choose from! Nostalgia flows as you look upon all that this store has to offer! Beautifully arranged and pleasing to walk around. I challenge you to walk out with out buying something. Candy can be purchased by the piece( as little as 15 cents) or buy the bag. A giant bag will cost you $8.00. Fill it with taffy's or things you remember from your childhood. So many sodas to choose from, including flavors like butter, pickle, enchilada or buffalo sauce. On an unexpectedly cold and rainy Saturday while in Chattanooga, we were looking for options that were indoors. We were staying at The Read House, and Rocket Fizz was right near the Pinball Arcade Museum and the Moon Pie Store, which all three made for a really fun day! The selection here is overwhelming (in a good way!) We started at the entrance and went all the way around, taking our time relishing in the memories that so much of the stuff there held. We picked up some candies that we hadn't seen in a while, and introduced our son to taffy, which he is now addicted to! The two women who worked there were super friendly and engaged with the customers. I interjected myself into a conversation (only for listening!) where one of the ladies was going over all of the various chocolate bar options that they had, and it was all really informative and helpful since many of the labels are not in English. One thing that was really cool is that the people who work at Rocket Fizz put together these mystery bags that are themed, which is a really cool concept. We got an Asian themed bag, and while we were really happy with most of the choices, we were a little bit disappointed that this particular bag included taffy and a four pack of flavored sodas, which took up a big part of the bag and wasn't at all aligned with the theme. I would've liked to be able to swap those items out for quite a few of the other Asian choices, and would've been happy to pay more. We loved our time in Rocket Fizz-probably spent about an hour in there-and we will always go back there when we visit Chattanooga! I think we have enough candy to last us for months! read more

Probably one of the smaller Rocket Fizz locations that I've been to but it's always fun to stop by into one of these and see what they have in stock. They have different kinds of sweets from around the world and it's always nice to see something you grew up with, especially in Chattanooga, where we don't often have much diversity. They always have a lot of unique novelty sodas, although I don't think I've ever tasted one I can recommend. Though,to be fair, I've only gotten the really gross-sounding ones like peanut butter and corn. This particular location isn't too busy but can get fairly crowded, which it was when we went most recently. It ended up being a bit hard to move around and see everything in the store. read more

Yes yes- it's over priced, BUT my goodness- the selection. It is like a kids dream come true- kid of any age! AND then there is the soda pop~ so many flavors, brands and more. I wish my childhood soda didn't go out of business- the girl behind the register asked what brand- Ace, out of PA & she said she had heard of it from other customers. Red Cream Soda- it's so hard to find- but they had it! Along with sarsaparilla, birch beer, black cherry... all those old time favorites! We put together a box and trust me- they were gone in a couple days!! We don't even drink soda very often anymore, but those hard to find flavors are worth it! The most noteworthy thing about this store is the flavored soda. Seriously, it's soda galore. The bf and I decided to choose 4 flavors: bacon (a slight after taste flavoring), peanut butter (unsure yet), coffee (decent), and chocolate (delish). It's a tad cheaper the more you buy. Other than the sodas (about $2.29?), the chocolates and candy were overpriced. I was on a mission for rock candy, but that thing was $1.49. Hmmm. When I went it had started to rain and we didn't have a umbrella so the lady working behind the counter let us use her umbrella to get to our car instead of drenching ourselves, and put a bucket outside to return it to. My wife and I visited this store back in November on a whim. Apparently (to me now) they had just opened briefly before our initial visit. My wife loves this certain kind of chocolate that we used to buy from the European type food stores. Well, no longer the case. Even the specialty stores don't carry it. I can order it from overseas, but $$$$! The Mrs and I spotted this candy store downtown and both thought the same thing. We gotta try. So, we go in and they are very friendly. In fact, either the owner or mgr, Babbs, still not sure which, spoke with us when we couldn't locate the candy in question. She said, If it's not here, I can order it. We were on board. She took our phone number and said she'd call us whenever it came in. So, we happened to be downtown and the Mrs says, they called from Rocket Fizz, our candy is in. Awesome. I had totally forgotten about it, because it's been months since we had that conversation. We go in and it's busy. We had to get in the check out line just to talk to someone. The Mrs tells the lady at the register (unknown-Asst Mgr?) about getting a message from another worker about the special order having arrived. She points over her shoulder at a display and says it'll be over there. Ok, so we go over there--not there. So we tell her, it's not here. Could it be somewhere else? This is where it got really upsetting to us. She asks who contacted us, and we couldn't remember off hand. So she begins to question us. Are we sure we ordered it? Are we sure it was this store? I was like, I was here a few months ago, not a few years ago. And what other store?! The other candy store that has a ton of bottled drinks and rubber lobster claw hands that sits in between Five Guys and Harley Davidson?! The worker says I don't know what to tell you. I told her I guess my wife and I are both just crazy, then, eh? She just stared blankly. I had enough and said let's go. We got to the car and about that time, the Mrs found the message (text) from the lady that ordered the stinkin' candy. Seems rediculous now, all of this for some dang Cadbury bars. So I said we are totally showing this to them. We go back in and deal with another lady, the first one walked off before we could retain her attention. Blonde lady, really nice. Didn't infer we were bonkers or making up a fairy tale. Actually took the time to talk to us and actually attempt to find out the issue. Still, couldn't resolve the fact that we were told to come get our stuff and then it wasn't there. However, she was nice and tried to help. I can take a lot of things, but don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about when your store contacts us and has us come down---for nothing. This would be a one star review if it weren't for the second lady. Geez, I know your busy, but telling people I don't know what to tell you doesn't help. Might as well have said, pound sand, I don't feel like dealing with you crazies today. I will NOT be back. I will NOT recommend this place. Don't waste your time. P.S. An impressive cornucopia of rare candies accompanied by an insane amount of sodas in every flavor imaginable (cherry cobbler, pumpkin pie, bacon, etc.). We were visiting TN and were drawn to a sign outside the store that informed us that they were celebrating Law Enforcement Officer appreciation week. They offered a free bag of candy and 10% off with any purchase to show their gratitude for the services that LEOs provide. We went in and enjoyed browsing around the impressively stocked candy store, which featured some candies that I've never seen in addition to some favorites that I've not been able to find since I was a child. Thank you to Rocket Fizz for showing appreciation to police officers. I am so disappointed in this store. I went in to buy some tin signs. There were signs everywhere that said "tin signs $16.99" and "Buy 4 get 1 Free". Once we got to the register the employee changed the price and said they were $19.99 each. I referred to the signs that were posted throughout the entire store showing a completely different price and all he could say was that those were old prices. I was shocked. OMG! Pure Kane soda everywhere. I have never seen such a selection of orange , red and blue cream sodas. Root beers I have never heard of and the best selection of ginger Ales for mixing. It took me 20 minutes to walk around to see everything. $75.00 later I am walking out the store with a 12 pack of mixed sodas, pop rocks, Star Wars wall clock, a concert poster and a bag full of taffy. Went back for my second visit 2 days before Christmas and could barely get into the store as it was packed. I spent another $25.00 on a root beer mix selection. 0h yeah. Absolutely non existent customer service. Entered with my family when it was basically empty. Not a single hello or may I help you. We walked around and the 2 ladies working didn't say a word. A couple walks in and they were greeted and asked did the need any help. I definitely would NOT recommend this business.
