We had just wrapped up a fun-filled afternoon at the pinball museum down the street and decided to walk over for a treat--best decision ever. The store is bright, clean, and packed wall-to-wall with colorful candies, vintage sodas, nostalgic toys, and quirky gifts. It's like stepping into a time capsule of fun. The displays are well-organized and make browsing a total blast. Whether you're hunting for your favorite childhood candy or looking to try a bacon-flavored soda just for laughs, this place has it all. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, happy to answer questions and chat about some of the more unusual flavors on the shelves. Their enthusiasm added to the experience and made us feel right at home. I left with a cold soda and a bag full of goodies--and already can't wait to come back. I was very excited about taking a cake decorating class, I paid $65 for 4 classes. I was not very…read moresatisfied after the first class because the instructor is very young and doesn't transmit much confidence while explaining or talking to the group. She does have years of experience, superior education and she helped with little tips. The rest of the clases got better because she was more confident. This class is very good for people who are pretty new at decorating cakes, is a VERY basic and short course that will get you started! In my case helped me tremendously because they introduced so many new tools to me and taught me techniques on how to use them. So yes I would totally reccomend this class! I will be taking course 2 and 3 so I can learn even more! They also sell a lot of baking supplies that are priced very reasonable and they have a lot of different options, for example they have several kinds of food coloring and flavors, candy melts, cookie cutters for every occasion, cake boards, pans and boxes every size you can imagine. The sugar shoppe also has a stand at the farmer's market at the first Tennessee pavilion and we really like their cake slices, my mom and my husband enjoy them very much because the textures and flavors they offer. They are large portions for $5 each slice. They are very delicious! I haven't ordered a cake from them, but since I was able to be in their kitchen for the classes I was able to see their cake schedule and they had a very clean and organized kitchen, they prepare ahead the buttercream which is their own recipe ans it's perfect texture to decorate and pipe any designs. I would definitely order a cake from them, they are very nice, I saw them interact with customers who were placing custome orders, they ask a lot of questions to make sure they deliver the cake you want.

The minute I walked into this place so many memories washed over me and I immediately recognized this place that has been haunting my dreams for so many years. They carry so many amazing packaged candies from multiple commercial manufacturers that I have not seen anywhere else since childhood that I had feared those items had gone out of existence. Their decorated fudge even still had icing decorations like the "Garden Path" that I recall from childhood. They make a lot of their own candies and chocolates of many various wondrous sorts and I almost still believe the gnomes help them manufacture these magical treats. Honestly, any business that welcomes our dog, I will almost every time purchase something-it means that much to me! The store holds a variety of items. It is a souvenir shop but this is probably one of the most unique souvenir shops I have ever visited. I like to purchase items when I travel that are locally made and this store had some items like that. Hubs and I took turns browsing the store and speaking with the owners, which made our experience more personable. I wanted to find something like an old souvenir Chattanooga vintage train but they did not have what I was picturing in my mind. Instead, the owners showed us trains they had in the window and offered to sell us the whole set but I could not afford it. Instead, we bargained for me to purchase a couple of pieces of the set. I thought it was very special of them to do that. We purchased some other souvenirs but none of them were sentimental like the train set pieces. I needed a massive amount of popcorn for a party and I didn't want to make it myself or rent a machine or buy just store popcorn and then I remembered driving by this place. So I stopped in and they have HUGE bins of popcorn. Lots of different flavors too. And you can get SAMPLES of them to pick what you want. I talked with the girl working alone in there and asked if they did bulk popcorn and they do! They have different bags to choose from and she helped me figure out how much I would need. I couldn't leave without some popcorn for myself so I picked a couple of flavors and got some small bags to go. Let's talk packaging. This girl had those bags stuffed FULL. I doubted she was going to get the twist tie on it. So no wasted space in these bags. You get well over your money's worth. Came back the next day to pick up my fresh popped popcorn and it was a hit at my party. Love this place.

I was yelled at by the clerk telling me to stop recording her. I was not recording her, I was talking on FaceTime with my brother showing him the city and the Icecream shop. The way this lady spoke to me was rude and disrespectful. I understand not wanting to be recorded, but it's about how you speak to people when you are in a service position. I told her we would not patronize the shop and my mom and I left. The tone and look on her face was not welcoming and had no kindness to it. I strongly believe if I were not black, the way she spoke to us would have been different. I know when the anger from a person is unwarranted and comes from a place of hate. I was taken aback, but happy I stayed classy and left and now I'm sharing this story with you so that you can avoid this type of treatment.

I had to squeeze into the shelf to have someone pass behind me with their cart but we made it work lol. The space isn't terribly small (I would say medium-sized as a whole), it's just a little narrow. But they do a good job of packing all their products in there. They have everything for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Filipino, Vietnamese, Thai and other asian cuisines. I'm very impressed at their inventory. They have a large frozen food aisle, shelves of instant noodles, and kitchenware! I even saw a bunch of Filipino desserts in the fridge too. The owner was nice and helped me check out my items. He was very friendly. I always get great service when I come by. Also I felt like pricing was very fair and reasonable. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the Chattanooga area and even if you're just passing by.
