You know what is one of the best things to do in life, fly by the seat of your pants. When it was suggested to attend a watch party here for a basketball game at first I balked at the idea. Let me tell you why, I have no idea what is going on with basketball. I was reassured that I would have a good time, and that was all I needed to hear. Getting in here wasn't hard at all. Literally walked in the door, bought my ticket, went through security and started to have a ball...but not a basketball. This is a beautiful arena, even while in the midst of a bit of an overhaul. We watched as the game was going on on the overhead screen and we enjoyed the entertainment they provided on the court during downtime. As it was suggested, I did have a blast. Made some new friends in the process and would do it again in a heartbeat. Prices for drink/food inside were what I expected, so I was floored there, just thought it was a bit unnecessary. read more

I have been to The Q a few times for different events: Cavaliers, Monsters, and a show. It is under construction now so there are some natural issues with traffic and flow around the arena, but they do a pretty good job managing everything all things considered. There is plenty of parking in the area, the closer you are the more expensive you get. If you are willing to walk a couple of blocks, you can easily find $10 parking in the Prospect street area (easy walking distance to East 4th for a pregame snack). The staff is helpful and kind in my experience, but do make sure that you are familiar with the Flash Seats app if you purchase your seats online. The video screens in the arena are absolutely massive which adds to the fun. I always find that they have the sound turned up in the arena to the point where it hurts my ears and is unpleasant rather than energizing. read more

Why 4 stars? Because the entertainment is as good as it gets, but the concourses need work. --- --- --- For anyone that knows me, I'm a die hard Cleveland sports fan, despite only living there for about 9 months (thanks Dad.) I spent a stupid amount of money to fly up from Tampa to Cleveland for the NBA Finals a few months ago, and I've also been to the Q a couple of other times. So I'll try not to be biased, but let me get the good stuff out of the way. The video board is the biggest arena screen in the NBA. It's unbelievable. When sitting in the upper bowl especially, it's tempting to just watch the screen like you're sitting in your living room... except that you have about a 1,000 foot screen in front of you. I constantly have to remind myself to look down at the actual court. Also, it shoots fire during the pre game introductions, so there's that. Everything from the PA announcer, to the Emcee, to the general electricity in the building (especially during the Finals, obviously) is great. So basically, any part of the experience from your seat is as good as it gets. The problems here live on the concourse. I don't think I've ever felt as claustrophobic in a sports venue, as I did at the Q. With LeBron in town, every game is a sell out with 20,562, so it's not as if there's ever a relief in the amount of people coming out. I wish something could be done about this, but I'm not sure there's a solution outside of something that would cost nearly as much as an entirely new building. There's also basically no point in having a team store during a Cavs game. They push what feels like 1,000 people in a space meant for 200 max, and the check-out line looks like it's about an hour long. Unless you come in the building as soon as the gates open, and sprint right to the team store, I can't imagine that this is ever a fun experience. Dan Gilbert (the owner) is practically a personal hero of mine. If anyone can fix that situation, it's him, but I'm not sure it's fixable. read more

On a night we arrived into Cleveland we ate at the great Lola! Review will follow shortly...we ended up walking down the street to our surprise (okay my surprise; the wife could care less) the Cavs arena! The game was already past halftime so we ran up to the window to try and get tickets for the last quarter thinking we would be turned away with a frown. The person (shall remain nameless because how cool the next part of this is) gave us tickets and when I asked how much they just said enjoy! WOW...this would never happen in L.A. The person would turn us away or they would take the $ and pocket it! Not Cleveland ladies and gentlemen! So long story short we watched the 4th Quarter...then Overtime...then wait for it. Double overtime...and if not for a buzzer beater by Nicolas Batum we would have seen triple OT! It wasn't a barn burner as it was only the Cavs vs Portland but still it was a great overall scenario and the wife actually enjoyed it more than me. Too COOL. My first experience watching an event at Quicken Loans Arena was awesome! The Q is just looks impressive even from a distant! And I was just in awe when I saw that Jumbotrons! I just could not take my eyes off these Megatrons!! You do have a good view and won't miss any actions no matter where you sit in the arena. Washroom is plentiful and clean. Beers at $8 a little pricey but it is event pricing. I do like the various food options available including B-Spot for a burger. A indoor walkway from and to RTA Tower City Station makes taking public transportation so convenient even on a rainy evening! I wish I can have one of those HUMONGOTRONs at home.... read more

Oh, the Q! I love it here. All of my younger brothers play basketball, but unfortunately, I was not blessed with the gifts of height or athletic ability as they were. I get one of my 3 brothers tickets to see their favorite teams each year as a Christmas gift, and this year we saw the Cavs. Vs. Milwaukee Bucks. I don't know why my brother is a Bucks fan, but he has been for as long as I can remember. This year was the second time I've visited here with my boyfriend and one of my brothers. We sat in a different (and better) section this year compared to last year, but there isn't a bad seat in the whole place if you ask me. You can see the court from any angle, but obviously the closer to the action the better! I've never seen any type of event that wasn't a basketball game here, but I'm sure the venue is more than fine for other types of entertainment that come to Cleveland, too. As with any stadium pricing, food and drinks can get a bit expensive. We ate before the game but got a couple beers and snacks at halftime. Beers were around $10, which is standard across the board it seems. The snacks were pricy, and I wanted a pretzel but didn't want to have to pay for cheese separately and there weren't a ton of other options. Just so I wasn't breaking the bank, I opted to share nachos with my brother, which were around $7. If we didn't eat beforehand there were quite a few different places you could get a decent meal at, though. My biggest gripe with the Q is probably the parking. You have to walk a bit if you want to park in a garage, and not being from Cleveland I'm a bit unfamiliar with street parking. Parking was at a flat rate $20 for the night and it was a bit less than a half mile walk to the actual venue. If it was summertime I wouldn't have minded the walk much, but of course March in Cleveland can get a bit chilly. We were happy leaving the parking garage as there wasn't really much traffic or waiting to get out of the building. It was a smooth exit. Aside from standard food pricing and parking woes that are to be expected when you go to sporting events, this is an awesome place. It was clean, our seats had an awesome view, and they even gave us free shirts on the night we were visiting. I'll be happily looking forward to whatever brings me to the Q next, though I have a feeling it'll be another basketball game! read more

One of the nicest arenas I've been to. Went to check out a Cavs game and had a great time. The arena is state of the art. We had flash seats and they had a special line with employees that printed the tickets from a hand held device. The line moved quickly and everyone was very helpful in addition to being friendly. We had no problems finding our seats the ushers were on hand to keep the crowd moving. There were so many backdrops and cut outs for pictures which we loved. We were celebrating a birthday and had a message on the jumbotron. We donated to charity and they posted our message. I loved the team store their prices were reasonable and they had a lot of nice team merchandise. There were so many options for food, drinks and snacks throughout the arena. We will certainly come back for games and events. Parking was affordable, traffic flows well and the game was family friendly. read more

This is a great arena to watch a basketball game! It looked like every seat in the house had a good view of the basketball court. The arena was clean and the staff were friendly. Quicken Loans Arena is probably one of the biggest and the best arena in the whole eastern side. I went here for a Cavaliers @ Celtics game earlier in the preseason and this game was a BLAST!!!!! They had a bunch of shows and contests. But the game was good. We had great seats and it was a nice view. Second, they have 50-50 raffles and after the third quarter they announce the winner and it gets up to $1,000,000! We tried and failed but it was still fun. The arena is a beautiful place too. Been to the Q for several years for concerts and Disney On Ice - still need to see a Cavs game though! This past year the Q outdid themselves and it's 100% because of their friendly, attentive, professional staff on the concourse. My mom recently had her knee replaced and was walking with a cane. With floor seats, there's almost hundreds of stairs for her to travel. Someone saw her cane and gave us the inside scoop on how to take the elevators all the way to the floor. They have directions, offered assistance and even a wheelchair! It made our experience so much more enjoyable because we weren't worried about wearing mom out. Drove in from PITTSBURGH on a Sunday night to see the Cavs play the Clippers. Not a bad drive at all and parking was so convenient. The parking garage is attached to the arena and there is a closed in tunnel to walk across that takes you right to the arena. The arena itself is amazing. From the club levels seats to the event level floor. The Jumbotron is enormous and shoots fire as well. All of the employees were welcoming and we were treated great. We sat in section M123 and had a great experience. I am definitely sold on the nba after this game. 1st class venue. Cleveland should be proud of this arena. read more

WOW! What nice employees here! Every single person we happen to speak with was gracious and helpful. From the person that checked our tickets and bags, to the person helping us find out seats. My son especially loved the gentleman that showed him the Cavs Championship ring and let him try it on. The bathrooms were clean, the floor wasn't sticky anywhere. My only complaint is that the aisles are way too small when sitting in the 200 section. But that is to be expected when sitting up that high. Wowza. Wowza. The newly renovated arena with a new name is fabulous! Wide open areas with new directional signs help the foot traffic. Interesting historical tidbits cover the main walls that include the champions, Cavs and Monsters. The championship floor has been replaced (yes, a new playing floor has been laid), and is now on a wall!Walk through the light tunnel and watch the lights constantly change to show Cavs pictures. Look for artwork by local artists. Food booths have names recognizable from Ohio City and Tremont. Loudville is still up high where sections of seats have been removed to open the wide space for social time with Buds and food. And the food is everywhere. I love an area that was hidden before is now dotted with tables and the window wall shows the baseball stadium. It is so cool! And stand in the new Antrim. Look around. Everything is stunning. When leaving, look back at the Antrim glass and see the reflection of Cleveland. read more

Last night was my first time here in forever. I came for the NKOTB concert. The arena I was very clean and security was pretty tight. Which is a good thing. It was cool too! Def a plus! However, the seating in the arena is wicked uncomfortable. Zero padding and the seats were so smooshed together, we were literally on top of each other. Another thing. They wouldn't give me the cap to my water. I understand they have policies. However, being a woman that makes me super uncomfortable. I couldn't have drank my entire bottle of water in one drink. So, it sat in my cup holder. Without a lid. Making it super easy for anyone to come along and put something in it. Just made me super uncomfortable. We left early because of traffic. Watching several people puking outside, is there not a limit to what these people can drink? Anyway, I'll come back. For shows. read more

Attended the JayZ concert here. The doors opened a little after 8:30. The entry aspect with checking tickets, purses and people was a bit hectic but we got thru rather quickly. The greeters were very helpful with giving us directions to food and drinks as well as handing out cards for a free 6 months of Tidal. We were a bit hungry so we stopped and sat down at quacker for some wings. Being that we visit this arena a lot for basketball games and eat at the express, this was our first time eating at the restaurant and we were not impressed. It was slow, the waiter completely forgot our drinks and I got the wrong order. Getting to our seats was a breeze and the ushers were very helpful. However, the lack of crowd control was horrible. People were smoking everything under the sun and it made it very uncomfortable for me. However, I enjoyed the show. The arena was set up emaculant and it was a great time with my family. read more

Came for the lady Gaga concert and didn't have to wait long the security was on it getting everyone thru the detectors and check ins pretty quickly which was great there are plenty of staff around to help you find your seats, plenty of food and drink vendors they were moving fast! The seating was pretty close but it's a Arena so can't really complain. The elevator attendant an older woman was so friendly and her personality was outstanding staff on the 4th even asked us if we wanted them to help us take a pic by the Gaga poster. I have to say for a concert I was quite happy with the way everyone hustled I didn't wait more than 2 minutes to buy a tee shirt or a snack they have plenty of restrooms I even found a everyone bathroom which I didn't understand at first but sure enough it was for everyone but it didn't feel unsafe at all. read more

This is way nicer than any other arena I have been to. I find it to be nice, clean, and well lit. Lighting becomes important as you get older :). It's always a plus when I can see. In addition, there is the largest scoreboard I have ever seen. I have no problem seeing it. Dining options are plenty. They have traditional "arena" food. Pizza, pretzels, beer, chicken tenders, and fries. However, there are more high end options as well. Michael Symon has a burger place here. I think I even saw a sushi place while walking around. The bathroom situation is better here than at most public arenas. They seem to be everywhere and are plentiful. I have not noticed the dreaded line out the door for any ladies room. That's a good thing. I'm glad Cleveland is having its moment. This is another example of something exemplary in Cleveland! read more

I had the opportunity to see Roger Waters for the Us & Them tour back on Sept. 22nd, with three of my friends. Getting into the place was much like going to the airport, (minus the strip search.) They corralled you in, but it went fast and smooth and the staff was actually really courteous. Security was on deck all around, which is great to see. Once inside, the venue is very user friendly, with lots of signs. The show was nearly sold out, so yes, the lines were long for the bathrooms. BUT, with a little searching from the many bathrooms to choose from, I was able to get in and out of the bathrooms quickly and efficiently. We had excellent seats, which were in section 100. I highly recommend this section. You most definitely get what you pay for! The view was incredible! I did notice though, that after row 11, I believe, the drink holders were in front of you on the lower backs of the seats, as opposed to them being in between on the arm rests. That I did not mind. Also, I'm a tall, curvy gal and the seats were VERY comfortable. Yes, the food and bevvies were overpriced as all get out, but that is to be expected. The show was awesome beyond words! The sound quality, the stage, the lights and lazers were all stellar! Overall, I would totally go back to The Q to see another concert! On a side note: To save on parking for major shows, try the parking garage on Euclid Avenue or Superior Avenue (across from the library). Yes, it's a bit of a walk, but you pay about half price to park in the same kind of secure parking garage that you would being closer to The Q. You're welcome. read more

Exiting the parking garage was a bit of a challenge. Some of the attendants did not do a good job at all. They just stood around while cars ended up in a traffic jam. The in-game entertainment here is second to none in Cleveland. The sports teams are (usually) competitive and exciting, and -- even when they are not -- the halftime and intermission entertainment is family-friendly, fun, and unique. Other than the regular sports teams (i.e., the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association, the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League, and the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League), the "Q" hosts numerous events (e.g., Cirque-du-Soleil, dirt-bike racing, extreme sports, monster-truck rallies, Trans-Siberian Orchestra and other big-name musicians, etc.) throughout the year. This venue is in the midst of undergoing a massive renovation that will give it a much-needed face-lift to allow in more natural light and resemble less of a mausoleum! While I love that the Q has a lot of local dining options (e.g., B Spot, Saucy Brew Works, etc.) within the confines of the venue, one of my biggest gripes would have to be the exorbitant costs of food and beverages at the Aramark stands. At other times, their answers regarding the vouchers are inconsistent, at best (e.g., one Aramark employee might claim that multiple vouchers cannot be used within the same transaction, and another Aramark employee person might state otherwise; or one person might claim that the designated-driver chip is valid for a discount on a fountain beverage, and another person might claim that it is for a free, small, fountain beverage). I love this arena. Have been here for countless CAVS games and concerts. Such wonderful memories. Right now the place is under construction and a big mess on the outside. The VIP lounge has just been redone as part of the 2 year renovation project and it looks phenomenal. The seats are wider, it is more spacious, and small glass tables in front. It is a little confusing that they renamed some of the sections. That has caused some confusion amongst fans but the employees are more than willing to assist. That is another thing I love about the Q. The employees. They are so friendly, cheerful, and love what they are doing. They make the CAVS games so much better. Cost of food and drink is pricey, but it's an arena so that is to be expected. Year 2 of the transformation will take place next summer after Basketball season is over. This review is for the VIP Club at Quicken Loans Arena. The VIP Club is located on the Club Level at Quicken Loans Arena and admission price is added to your ticket price. Seating is first come first grab so the best seats are taken by those who come early, I started standing in line at 4pm for a 5:45pm admission and the wait was well worth it as I got great seats but all the seating is arranged for excellent viewing of whatever sport or show you're attending. The VIP Club offers complimentary Coffee, Tea, Beer, Wine and all the popcorn you can eat, mixed drink costs were $9.50 for a single and $15 for a double but most folks were drinking the free beer and wine all night. Complimentary food the night I attended included Chicken Taco soup, Salad, Chicken Breast, Sliced Pork, Roasted Vegetables, Wild Rice, Nacho's with Jalapeno Peppers and for desert an assortment cookies and excellent Cheese Cake served buffet style. All the food was excellent, the atmosphere was fun, the sight lines were great and the staff was friendly and professional and I for one cannot wait to go to the VIP Club for many return visits in the future. read more

Definitely an older arena without all of the attractions of new, bigger arenas in other cities. What I did like about this arena was how steep the seating grades are. Because the seats rise vertically at a steeper grade than other arenas, no matter where you're sitting in the arena, you'll be relatively close to the action on the floor. I'd love to come back one day and watch a Cavaliers game. Location is downtown, walking distance from all of the main hotels. Bathrooms seemed small and might be overcrowded on a night when the arena is full. read more

This place is a total dump. Sterile environment, awful seating, poor concession offerings, disgusting public restrooms, horrendous parking options, and to top it off you're hit up by bums walking in. This arena manages to be a complete 180 from the facility it effectively replaced: Richfield Coliseum. Security, vendors and concessionaires are not very bright, rarely ever friendly and generally make for a bad entertainment experience. Props to Cavs owner Dan Gilbert for injecting some much needed cash for capital improvements, but you can only polish a turd so much before you give up and say it's still a turd. I love the Q - not only because I love the city of Cleveland, but because I honestly believe this arena is one of the best in the industry. Ever since the Q was renovated a couple years back, it truly is a sight to behold. The most obvious point of discussion here is the absolutely massive screens hanging from the ceiling that you have to see to believe. The "humongotron" consists of four separate screens that are curved; basically, no matter where you sit, you have fantastic views of the scoreboard. The Q also now has beautiful LED screens that run around the entire seating bowl, providing an immersive experience in the game (or concert) that you're enjoying. Not only is the technology at the Q top of the line, but I've found that the employees here are also wonderful. Almost every employee I've encountered in my numerous experiences at the Q has had a smile on their face and an obvious excitement to be a part of this enterprise. I also love all of the food options at the Q - my family and I frequent the B Spot location here, and the Michael Symon milkshake bar is the bomb. I always enjoy coming to the Q no matter what the occasion. If you've never been, I highly recommend a visit! read more

I would say it's one of the biggest arenas I've been in and is definitely a landmark in Cleveland. The people love the Cavs and it was pretty thrilling to be able to watch a game here and take in the atmosphere. There are huge screens which make it easy to watch the game even if you are high up, away from the court. They are really nice, with crystal clear projections. I didn't get anything from the concessions, but it looked like there were decent options if you wanted to buy anything. I think the hallways and getting to the sections was a little confusing and the hallways appeared kind of old? I don't quite know how else to describe it. Everything else appears pretty modern and I love the hometown vibe of the place. Really nice arena, but it seems a little small inside until you get out into the seats and then you realize the place is actually massive. Still, a great spot to watch a game! read more
