Yes if their hair is long enough, to determine if the length of hair is appropriate you will have to first come in for a consultation.

I should also note that I'm 38 weeks pregnant and my sensitivity is much higher than someone not pregnant, but the pain was very tolerable and over within 15-20 min. This salon is too good for Valrico/Brandon area, but I'm so glad it's here. This isn't your typical salon with bright lights that give you a migraine and bring out your worst features. The music is perfect for all ages. The decor is fabulous and the girls are the BEST team of stylists I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. They help each other out without question, and they all make each and every client feel welcome, fabulous and just gorgeous. Every time I leave the salon, I walk out feeling like a million bucks. Deanna is the best artist that's ever touched my hair, and she is truly committed to satisfaction. I've been going to her for about a year now, and will not go anywhere else. I'm getting married this weekend and contacted Deanna to go over different options for color and to get her advice on extensions due to the extreme hair loss I've faced since my major weight loss. She was professional, honest and kept my end goal in mind the entire time. I have been going to Patty for 14 years. She has always done a great job with my cuts and color. If I ask for a different cut she will say yes or "no, I'm not doing that again, remember the last time I did it? You didn't like it." The salon is comfortable and they are always professional. I can't always afford the color so she told me about this program they have for their stylist. Patty & Laura train their girls from the beginning and to the point of knowing what to do to open your own salon. She suggested to go with a level one stylist, their prices are lower then the veteran stylist and she would be there to coach them. I tried it and Becca did my color. I had one color on the bottom and high lights and some low lights on the top. She was as excited as I was! It looked awesome. I was happy to give her the opportunity as well! If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. I can not even tell you in words how happy my daughter and I were when we left . Penny, you rock . We went in here with somebody else's bad cut n color, and Penny worked her magic, and we both left there more than happy. The atmosphere, the vibe, everything was amazing . I went in for a consultation. I had some questions on the best thing I could do to get my hair back to it's natural color. The lady was super nice and explained that since my natural colour was darker than my hair was at the time she could make it all one colour and cause minimal damage. WRONG!!! I am horrified how my hair turned out. What was once dirty blonde hair is now almost BLACK!! And since she talked me out of the semi perm hair colour I am now screwed!!! There is NO way to get my hair back to them right color without years of growing it out. It would be nice to find someone you can trust to help you and not just out to make money at others expense!!!! Horrible way to do business. read more

Today was my first visit to Rock Your Locks salon. Penny was my stylist and this is by far the best cut and color I have had in my 59 years. She took her time, made great recommendations and did exactly what she planned. The color and highlights are so beautiful. The cut is precise. My hair was a disaster, I haven't been to a salon in over a year and my husband will tell you, I pick every cut I get apart and am always unhappy with it, so I just don't go. And I have to say, I am extremely happy. Penny is an artist! I even made my follow up in 5 weeks. I never do that! The salon is so nice and everyone there so welcoming. This is my first time writing a Yelp review. I have been getting my color and cut with these ladies for more than a year. 2 weeks ago, we tried something new. Well, it didn't turn out exactly how I wanted. When I contacted the salon for a color correction, Laura offered to come in on a day the studio is closed! That is awesome service. I made my appointment, then was 45 minutes late. I never felt any pressure. I was made to feel comfortable and Laura really listened to my concerns. I just want to give a special thanks to Penny at rock your locks... She was amazing! I went in asking for a pretty difficult task on my hair and she was able to get it done in one day... I went in asking for a platinum blond so she made me do some conditioning treatments before I went in to strengthen my hair... after 2 weeks of conditioning treatments my hair was healthy and strong to be able to take the bleach... my husband has a birthday dinner this weekend with a bunch of co-workers and she got me ready for a great weekend... I am VERY picky when it comes to my hair, not every hairstylist knows how to deal with curly hair or how to cut curly hair but let me tell you about TINA! She did amazing. I told her to keep my length yet, give me some layers with a V style and she finessed! She got rid of my bad ends and gave me the cut I asked her for! I am very happy with the results! My hair turned out BEAUTIFUL! She did cut off a touch more than I expected because my ends were so damaged but now my hair feels thicker and healthier from roots to ends. I take responsibility for not speaking up immediately, but I decided to continue with the appointment. I clearly explained to the stylist that I wanted a wolf/shaggy cut with layers for volume, showed her pictures, and specifically said I did NOT want a mullet. I also explained that my hair is very thin and that I understood it wouldn't look exactly like the pictures. Before she started, I confirmed again that I wanted layers, and she agreed. My hair was styled with mousse, hairspray, and a curling iron, so I couldn't really tell what the cut looked like underneath the styling. When I got home, my hair had a strong burnt smell, so I washed it three times. Once it dried, I realized the layers I had requested were essentially not there. It looked more like a chopped trim, with the "layer" almost the same length as the rest of my hair. I called the salon extremely upset and was initially told I would receive a refund. Shortly afterward, the stylist called me and said I had to return to the salon before receiving one. I agreed, even though I no longer wanted anyone there touching my hair. When I returned, instead of receiving an apology, I felt like I had to defend myself. I was told the burnt smell could have been from the heat or even the sun, and the owner said it was a communication issue. However, I had shown pictures, explained exactly what I wanted, explained my concerns, and confirmed the layers multiple times. The stylist then told me she intentionally did not give me the layers because of my thinning hair and that I would look bald and wouldn't look good. If that was her professional concern, it should have been discussed with me BEFORE deciding not to give me the haircut I requested. I was also told the stylist had spent an hour on my hair. My appointment was at 11:30 AM, I started shortly after 11:35, and I was finished around 12:00 PM. I ultimately received my refund in cash, but there was still no apology. The owner slammed the cash on the counter and said, "Here." Thankfully, I found another stylist at a different salon who listened to my concerns, understood what I wanted, and fixed my hair beautifully. She gave me the layers and shape I had originally asked for without making me look "bald," as I had been told would happen. I understand that haircuts don't always turn out perfectly, but I felt attacked rather than listened to. The haircut itself was disappointing, but the way my concerns were handled afterward was what made this experience especially upsetting. I personally will not be returning.
