We contracted Greg with Rock Your House to renovate our master bathroom in September 2016. Greg first came over and measured and quoted as well as advised on where to find and pick out the best materials and styles for the renovation. After receiving the quote, upon Greg's advise, we went to The Tile Shop in Southlake, where Diane helped us to design our entire master bath - she was fantastic. She coordinated directly with Greg for the amount of supplies and all we had to do was provide payment. We have remolded nearly our entire house and this was by far the simplest design phase we have ever been through. Even better, we received 20% off for labor day weekend! We picked out our granite from another of Greg's connections and we were in and out of the store in 20 minutes. Wonderful! After picking out all our materials, Greg began the renovation on a Monday (and aside from a small hiccup with tile not being ready for pick up) was able to finish majority of the work by the weekend. I was so impressed with how quick Greg's team worked in addition to how they basically wrapped up everything in our master bedroom so that nothing would get dusty. They also cleaned up their workspace ever single day. The glass guy took a few weeks to install the glass (couldn't measure until tile was complete), but other than that it was a very painless project. Greg and team (Carlos & Jorge) did a fantastic job on my 2nd bathroom. They were professional and considerate while making us a usable bathroom for my aging mother. The process was quick but not a whirlwind. Sometimes I didn't realize they were there. Greg walked me through what was needed and made me feel confident that he understood my families needs. When I had questions they were answered quickly & helped me better understand the process, He was always a step ahead. I am thankful for all they did. Greg lives by the principle of overpromise and underdeliver, which is the opposite of the customer service provided by most businesses. When we first met him he promised his main guy (Carlos) would be the one doing the project but in actuality he has Carlos's son and daughter (both untrained, don't speak English and clearly still learning how to do basic contracting work such as tile work and painting) do 90-95% of the work in an unsupervised fashion. Greg or Carlos did not oversee or check the work each day thus we were left with a poor paint job (no tape was placed on baseboards or crown molding around doors such that there are splotches of gray paint on our white crown molding), uneven laying of tile (you can clearly see that in the pics posted), a trim that Greg chose on his own without asking what we wanted because he was too impatient, holes in our bedroom and bathroom walls that were not repaired, huge gaps behind the trim around the shower and areas that weren't retextured, a lack of waterproofing of the shower which many well respected contractors consider industry standard to prevent water leaking into walls and foundation, and just a poor job aesthetically overall. Greg had the audacity to charge me over $10,000 for work that will need to be redone including $3500 which I paid for custom cabinets that he cancelled and is now keeping the money for himself. If you read his other Yelp reviews you can clearly see that Greg has a pattern of losing his temper, not having good communication and of overcharging for shoddy work that is unsupervised and performed by low cost laborers who are not well trained and only speak Spanish. You will find that the issues in many of his reviews are the same. Greg's mood would vacillate from day to day and from hour to hour. He chewed out the gentleman helping us out at the tile shop on several occasions. My fiancé also observed him yelling at his own workers at the top of his lungs when they mistakenly tried to get something out of his truck meant for another job. He also did not confirm our tile order as he promised he would do thus leaving us without grout and trim which he then purchased himself without consulting us thus choosing trim which did not match anything in our bathroom. He actually charged us a $550 design fee though we did all the design ourselves. He did not offer any advice or expertise in the area of design whatsoever. Because Greg himself doesn't speak Spanish (but his laborers only speak Spanish) many things had to be redone though we had clearly told him what we wanted. He then charged us for these "redos" because of his own inability to communicate with his workers. His workers had to re-paint and re-patch several times even though things were clearly communicated to Greg initially by my fiancé. His predictable response whenever he forgets things is to blame the customer and say that he was never told. We detailed the issues we had with the work performed and even had Greg sign a sheet but Greg did not choose to rectify them and instead chose to abandon the job. He later told me he signed the sheet with a fake signature so that he could plausibly deny having promised anything. Greg only cares about getting paid on the back of labor performed by others while doing a sub par job. His lack of integrity is apparent the longer you work with him because you will catch him in lies and inconsistencies and the version of Greg that you will get once he has money in his hands is very different than the version you get in the beginning. Greg is a con artist. He does not have any expertise in the work he has others perform. He also does not like to admit when he's made a mistake and gets defensive and blames others (the customer, his workers etc). Where there is so much smoke, there has to be fire. This guy is a scam artist. BEWARE AND DO NOT USE. All of the bad Yelp reviews are 100% accurate. He screwed up on work then abandoned the projects. He kept money that was reserved for the maker of our custom cabinets. More info to come. DO NOT USE THIS GUY!!! BEWARE OF THIS CONTRACTOR. This guy is a scam artist. He promises that he will have his "A" team working the project then switch to the his subcontractors 20 yr old son and daughter without overseeing work. He will inflate his estimate bids from month to month, and add additional fees for things that weren't agreed upon or totally bogus. His workers tore holes in bedroom wall ls and chipped paint when storing their equipment in the bedroom. They dripped paint on doors and painted over baseboards and left holes in walls of the bathroom as well. When we saw the quality of the shower tile and the use of trim that wasn't agreed upon, he said he would fix it. Then a day later he completely abandoned the project in the middle. He also did not water proof the shower so we will have to redo work that he charged almost 3000 dollars for (this is just the labor cost of the shower he charged and does not include the material costs of the tile we paid for). He kept a check written for custom cabinets that was meant for the cabinet guy. He made a final invoice with added costs and fees to inflate the amount of work he did. The bad YELP reviews are all true. We didn't think to check Yelp, so we were sick to our stomach to see how true they all are. He blames the customer when his shoddy work is questioned. He doesn't like to be questioned and will get extremely defensive. He calls his customer hostile or abusive if they hold him to any reasonable standard. He has no contrition and clearly has a god complex where he can do no wrong. Due to our mistake of hiring Greg we are out almost 10K that we paid him and who knows how much more when we have to have everything redone. We have used Rock Your House on two different occasions. The first time was a major remodeling of our master bathroom. Greg helped us fine-tune our vision and design a bathroom that was functional. beautiful and stayed within our budget. He provided us a quote, timeline and list of vendors and materials so that we could pick out exactly what we wanted. During the project he communicated any changes and he and his crew were very accommodating when when my husband and I had changes and additions that we wanted made. The crew was professional, on time and a pleasure to work with. His crew was also very conscientious and accommodating to the fact that we have four animals in our home and I worry about them getting out. I was so appreciative of how kind all the guys were to my fur babies, even when they got in the way. And the bottom line is that I have my dream bathroom! We were so pleased with the bathroom that we couldn't wait for them return for the next project. The second project was flooring and new baseboards for our upstairs Game Room. We did not know what type of flooring would be best so Greg brought samples to our home. Again, he provided a timeline and cost estimate. Everything from the demolition of the old floor to the final painting of the baseboards was done so efficiently and professionally! We LOVE how it came out. We had our master bath remodeled summer 2021 and are very satisfied with the results. Greg was on site every morning to be sure his contractors were on track. Many days he was on site 2-3 times depending on the project for the day. As with any remodel, challenges arise, but they were always corrected to our satisfaction. Upon arrival Greg began trying to convince me to remodel my entire master bathroom despite what we'd discussed. We hired "Rock Your House Remodeling" a week before winter hit Texas and before moving into our new home, for a fireplace remodel, kitchen black splash replacement, paint, and shelving. Texas winter left our new house without electricity for three days causing several broken pipes and a lot of damage. The big dry out left huge holes in interior and exterior walls of our home. Greg and team swooped in, insulated, and closed up the walls to make our forever home livable. It gets even better, Carlos, Greg's foreman, bricked together our dream fireplace, and cobbled together shelving of Greg's design to convert closet wardrobes into bookshelves. When we bought the house 9 years ago the counters were already marked up. Leased it for 8 years and now we are in our homes in grapevine for 1 year. The counter tops really was bothering me so we got an estimate from greg at rock your house. He suggested deco granite for the countertops in the kitchen. the price was in our range so we had it done. I didn't know what to expect since I never heard of deco granite. to our surprise it came out simply elegant, beautiful. the workers were very friendly , on time, and very very neat . We have been getting a lot of compliments on it. I am now going to do my two bathrooms with the deco granite. I would highly recommend Greg at Rock your house for any work to be done. We hired Greg and his crew to do two complete bathroom remodels. Greg provided an estimate within a day of visiting our home, and after getting a few other bids, it was obvious that he could do the work we wanted for the best price. He gave me several options for remodeling that might save money and suggested places to get materials at the best price as well. After selecting the materials I wanted, Greg met with me and we finalized the plan. Greg ordered the tile, cabinetry, and tub, I ordered plumbing and picked out granite, mirrors and lighting. His crew does a great job of protecting surfaces in adjacent rooms; they covered everything with plastic during demolition and used drop cloths daily on walking paths. They were as unobtrusive as possible considering that this was a major remodeling project. They are also extremely polite! The tile work is outstanding. It ended up taking a bit longer than expected to complete the project, but this was no fault of Greg's; the glass company broke a section of the shower glass and it had to be reordered. At any time if I had questions or needs, Greg was on top of it. I needed to have our lighting fixtures adjusted and mirrors raised after the initial installation because they were too low for my tall family members, and Greg had his crew do it with no problems. I added small additional requests along the way, such as popcorn removal and hardware installation, and Greg's crew did it with minimal added charges. Overall this was a very positive experience and we will definitely hire Greg and his crew for more home improvements. read more

Greg started remodeling my mother's house Jan 2018. The problem I have with Rock Your House is Greg's attention to detail. In the master bath we removed a built in vanity and installed a new vanity with legs. This left the area where baseboards go bare and Greg chose not to install baseboards on the back wall behind the new vanity. It's visible at certain angles when standing in the bathroom and other baseboards on the side of the new vanity we're not painted completely. This same condition exists in the other bathroom Greg remodeled at the same time. Greg would just say "you can't see that". So I guess he just didn't care. Places where Greg installed floor tile is uneven. You feel the edges of the tile when walking across it. In the kitchen Greg remodeled the electrical outlets in the backsplash we're not installed at the proper height so the face plate had to be trimmed to fit. He also measured for new cabinets and come up short in two places. Robbing me of 3" of cabinet space and having to look at an awkward space where there is no drawer or cabinet door. To fix this problem I bought another cabinet the correct size. I had to install cabinets in laundry room so the granite guy to measure for new granite. Walls that he textured and painted did not have the same texture. Another issue is he will make decisions with consulting us. A niche in one bathroom shower was the size we asked for but in the master bath shower it was made smaller with out talking to us first. And on the billing the prices started changing once we began asking questions about certain charges. He also charged us tax on items and would not show how he arrived at the exact amount of tax. He gave me no receipts that show I owed any tax. When I complained and held back the last check he threatened to put a lean on my house. DO NOT USE THIS MAN TO WORK ON YOUR HOUSE!! read more

Greg was very pleasant and his workers were the best. A couple of problems did surface and I was very disappointed with the follow up service I received. My garbage disposal was placed on the opposite's side of the sink as before( I am right handed) . When I called Greg he told me my husband said it was ok. My husband said Greg told him the disposal needed to be there because of the dishwasher. And this was brought to Greg attention as soon as it happened, he should have had his workers change it. This was a Friday and I called Greg on Monday it just was not working for me, Greg told me I would need to pay to have it changed. I felt it should have been done without charge. Just put it back on the side that it was on to began with. I soon discovered that my revolving cabinet meconium was hauled off with the old counter tops and the revolving shelf just fell into the floor when I open the door. I feel these small items should have been taken care by Greg without additional cost to me, and they were not. If you use him make sure you go over everything with a fine tooth comb before final payment. read more

The work provided was excellent - I had my exterior house painted - the workers were extremely detail oriented and meticulous to see no paint got on windows, brick, roof tiles. Great experience. Had 2 bathrooms completely remodeled simultaneously, ie, floor tile, bath tile, wall texture, paint, cabinets, etc. Had the luxury of being home for the remodel. Crew was professional and high quality. Anything we did not like was fixed on the spot down to replacing tile pieces we did not like.
