Ryan is basically a magician!!! Our photos came out not only beautiful but also full of life and joy. Going through all the photos made me teary-eyed, laugh, and immediately wonder if it'd be weird to use our wedding photos as bedroom wallpaper (my s/o convinced me this was a no-go, haha!). Ryan is not only obviously an incredible photographer, but he's ridiculously fun to work with. Hours before our ceremony, we needed to change venues which I worried would ruin the day. Despite the haze of anxiety and panic, Ryan had us all laughing and feeling present and excited! He's fun and knows exactly what he's doing, which made everyone feel at ease. I'm notoriously awkward in photos, but with Ryan, I just felt comfortable and ridiculously stoked! Okay, one last thing about why you definitely need to book Ryan is he's extremely fast! We weren't expecting our photos until at least a month after the ceremony, but somehow two nights later I got a very happy surprise that they were done (like I said, he's a magician)! I feel so grateful that we had such an amazing photographer capture our special day and will forever use Ryan for any other special events! read more

OH MY GOD. STOP READING THESE REVIEWS. Your search is over and just book Ryan already! I was initially drawn to his style because he can capture "in the moment" shots. The small looks and giggles between the staged shots. He was able to capture all of that. One of my favorite things about my photos was that he was able to capture my guests' genuine reactions during the wedding. He truly can rock the momemt. So talented! He knows how to pose people in small, medium, and large groups. He'll remind guests if they need to button any jackets to get that great shot. He knows how to incorporate the background so he isn't just taking pictures of people but really the entire environment. There is great balance in the photos. He was extremely flexible the day of. We had minor schedule changes and he just went with the flow. I am SOOOO grateful he was able to photograph our big day. THANK YOU RYAN!! read more

This review is a long time coming, it's been 4 years too late :) Sorry Ryan, we have just been too busy. If you have read any of the positive reviews and still in doubt, trust us they are all true. We had an intimate wedding in Disneyland and wanted only one photographer as it was quite a small gathering. From the get go, Ryan was terrific. Excellent and quick communication, very reasonable price and great personality. Got along with all our guests, videographer, wedding staff and yeah, the photos were great too. It is rare to find such great work ethic, personality and quality work in one person at such reasonable prices. Also, he wrote us a very lovely blog post with photos that we shared with all our friends and family. Definitely recommend Ryan for all your wedding needs. He is a rockstar! read more

Ryan's work is absolutely beautiful! My husband and I couldn't be happier with our wedding photos. I had a specific vibe in mind for our small, family-only destination wedding to Palm Springs, and Ryan nailed it with the photos! Although he was forced to work off of a very tight timeline, including multiple destinations, three dress changes, and lots of unconventional family pics, Ryan was a complete professional. It was clear he had plenty of experience shooting in Palm Springs; he took us to some awesome photo locations and he was familiar with our venue location. Needless to say, our Palm Springs wedding photos turned out amazing! Personally, my husband and I really enjoyed working with Ryan. He made us feel totally relaxed; we had a lot of laughs during our 3-hour shoot! I would definitely recommend Ryan to anyone who is looking for a fun, laid back but totally professional and talented photographer. The experience was better than I could have imagined... and our photos captured our special day perfectly. Thank you again Ryan! read more

Planning a wedding might be one of the hardest things you'll ever do, but working with Ryan and his team was one of the easiest decisions that we made during the process. Not only was he friendly, professional, and communicative, but his work is nothing short of art. Our wedding was filled with laughs and tears and songs and Ryan perfectly captured every single moment--My wife and I look at our photos every other week just so we can remember the greatest party of our lives! If I ever get married again, I'll call Ryan, but until then he's my number one recommendation for anyone that is getting engaged / married / having a baby / or just wants to capture a moment in a way that will always make you smile. read more

Ryan. Motha. F***ing. Horban! Beautiful unique photos? check. Make you pee your pants? check. He is that funny. Grab a beer or two with you? check. Drive you and your wedding party home from your wedding because you are too drunk? double check. This guy, who is now our friend, offers nothing short of genuine magic. I mean, just look at his photos! But its not all about the photos, is it? Ryan grabs the wedding day by the balls and knows what the hell he is doing. On your wedding day, you are so consumed with time, your venue, your vendors, omg is it fucking raining?! type of situations and Ryan just shows up and gets right to work. Capturing moments you have no idea are going on. He basically is a Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon type of photographer... although, he doesn't bring his samurai sword with him and that's about all the disappointment to be had working with this warlock. Once I found him and we exchanged one email, I stopped looking. I KNEW he was the best fit and clearly I was right. The entire wedding party loved him, too. What a guy. read more

Ryan is an incredible photographer. I am extremely pleased with the quality of his work, his timeliness, his attentiveness, and his amazing talent. Throughout the time that we booked him and our actual wedding, he checked in on us several times. I must say he was much more than just our wedding photographer. During the planning process he helped with recommendations and referrals. Then, on the actual wedding day he even helped with coordinating the schedule and making sure everything ran smoothly for us! He worked very well with our wedding coordinator and the other vendors we booked. Post wedding, he got our photos back to us within 2 weeks along with a small gift and a sweet thank you card. He did an incredible job editing. I know that he is primarily a wedding photographer, but because we were so happy with his work, we hope to be able to book him again for future events. To all future bride and grooms, I would really recommend booking Ryan! read more

Ryan just did my wedding pictures on May 2,2023 and I just received the most beautiful pictures a bride could ask for.

Ryan is absolutely amazing and worth every penny! I knew from the start that hiring a good photographer would be one of the most important things on my wedding to-do list...pictures are forever (flowers die). Anyway, I wanted a certain less formal style out of my wedding photos and after going through hundreds of websites I finally landed on Ryan's page. His site, like his personality, exudes awesomeness and is exactly the style I was looking for. We first met Ryan over the phone and not in person until our engagement shoot. He was very flexible and when we said we wanted to do it in Manhattan Beach he was on board. He's super easy to talk to and it didn't take long to get over the awkwardness of having someone take photos of you while in a public setting. We even grabbed a drink with him at a local spot! A few months went by and we touched base several times to go over our had to have shots with family, etc. and the general timeline. Come the day of our Palm Springs wedding, Ryan was right on time and already full of ideas. We took some getting ready shots before heading out to the windmills to get some of the best shots of the day! Then was the ceremony and reception which he captured perfectly. All of our guests loved Ryan and even though our venue was small he didn't seem intrusive or have any crazy equipment. (I've been to some weddings where the photographer shines a very bright light on the couple all night!) All said and done, I would highly recommend Ryan to anyone looking for a great wedding photographer and not the standard formal, boring pictures. Yes, Ryan makes sure to get all those shots if you want them, but his style is more relaxed, casual, and impromptu. We were left with several hundred amazing pictures and have no regrets whatsoever! read more

For a while now I have seen photos Ryan has posted of weddings he has photographed (we are Facebook friends!) I liked the 'non posed' and 'non-traditional' style of his photos. So when he posted photos of his first 'family' photo session I immediately messaged him. I have the better part of 1000 photos of my 3yr old, but very few of her and I together so I jumped at the chance to have him capture us in his unique style. Best $ I ever spent. The photos were a million times better than I ever hoped for! I have no idea how he does it- but his photos have beautiful lighting and an authentic quality that actually made me cry when I got to see the photos he took of us. Thank you would not be adequate to express my gratitude Ryan, I will be hiring you again soon because no other photographer will capture it like you! P.S. For those of you reading this review-stop searching and hire this man. read more

As someone who has been photographed by Ryan as well as worked side by side with him - I can genuinely tell you that Ryan is not only an amazing person that can make you laugh your face off, but one of the best photographers in Southern California. Ryan is an amazing photographer who does exceptional work! He was easy to communicate with and very helpful in planning an engagement photo shoot, suggesting locations, timing, etc. I'm not from Palm Springs and he made the planning process seamless, even using Google Maps to help me pinpoint the exact spot where I should propose. His photos of the proposal were breathtaking. As smoke from forest fires raged in the background, he made them seem like part of the natural scenery. My now fiancee, our family, and our friends can't stop raving about Ryan's photos. He captured our excitement and joy better than I could have imagined. I would hire him again in a heartbeat, and I hope you do too! read more

While in the beginning stages of wedding planning my wife and I were in agreement that photography was the most important aspect. Searching for photographers while navigating a destination wedding was turning out to be very tedious. However, as soon as we came across Ryan and Rock This Moment Photography all of our worries vanished. From initial inquiries to the big day he was prompt, thorough, and amazing to work with. We were drawn to the candid moments his art seemed to always capture and he did not disappoint. Our guests were truly amazed by him being everywhere at all times. My fiancé and I received an engagement photo session with Ryan as a Christmas gift, so we weren't quite sure what to expect. However, Ryan quickly put our fears aside as soon as we started emailing to set up a date for the shoot. Within the first 5 minutes of meeting him we felt at ease and knew working with him would be a winning decision. We were able to get in some good laughs whilst maintaining a professional and natural look. My fiancé and I would highly recommend him to anybody that is looking for a bomb.com photographer. Overall he is a very charismatic, quirky, and talented photographer that we truly enjoyed working with. Sounds cliché, but we absolutely adore every photo from our shoot! YOU GUYS. Stop reading this and book Ryan. NOW. Seriously. I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am with how our photos turned out. From the early email communication, to the end product, Ryan was a blast to work with. He made me and my husband feel super comfortable and at ease with the daunting task of taking photos on your wedding day. Ryan will guide you on where he thinks lighting is best, how to pose (without looking like a cheesy prom photo), he'll get your "good side," and he will have a beer with you at the end of it all. This guy knows what he's doing. He's one of the funniest guys i've met (which totally works in your favor for candid laughing photos!!) and the turnaround time is unbelievable. Ryan is absolutely gifted at Photography- a visual story teller if you will! He has a keen eye for detail and is exceptional at capturing the best lighting! Hire Ryan now, and you can thank me later...seriously! My husband and I very recently got married in Temecula, and I was not satisfied with any of the photographers the winery recommended (I wanted a local photographer). We are not the whimsical type, and my husband hates taking pictures. So I googled, googled some more, and voila, found Ryan. He had me at his website intro, something about drinking beer and playing tunes on his banjo for his lady. I knew at this point our personalities would click, and this was hugely important for a couple that feels awkward in front of the camera. Not only did we have fun at our first meeting, our engagement session in San Diego, but we were blown away once we got our pictures back. Ryan is awesome. He puts his heart into all of his photos. He will not take cheesy photos, he in fact nixed one of my themed ideas that was incredibly cheesy, and he really gets to know the couples he photographs. You can tell that he absolutely loves what he does. We just got our wedding photos back, in what felt like a blink of an eye, and they are perfect! Everyone had so much fun at our wedding, like couldn't stop smiling and laughing, and Ryan captured all of that. From our group photos to the action dance shots, Ryan killed it. Now the only problem is narrowing down which will go into a book, and which ones get to be framed. I supposed there are worse problems to have... read more

If I had to sum up Ryan in a sentence, it would read as follows: He is an excellent, super funny dude and an absolutely brilliant photographer. Ryan and I actually go back a lot further than just him documenting my wife and I's wedding on Halloween of 2015. We have been friends for over 10 years. And when we decided to get married, I knew there was no one else for the job but Ryan. I'm sure it's pretty normal to feel a little overwhelmed on the day, but Ryan kept us cool with a sure confidence and expertise of his craft. Even now, 2 months later, we are still going through the 900 and some odd photos he sent us with such amazement. They came out so great. We can't thank him enough. Like someone before me already said, stop looking right now and call ryan. He's the real deal. Always on point and never misses a beat. read more

Holy cow - Ryan and Rock this Moment Photography... absolutely incredible. He did photos for my husband and me last week and I am absolutely blown away by him. The photos he captured of us truly take my breath away. He took the time to get to know US - our history, our personalities, our dynamics - and somehow integrated those nuances into the photos. They really reflect who we are and how we feel about each other. Even more than being brilliant at the 'science' of photography, Ryan is masterful at the 'art' of it. He is a visionary, and you can tell this immediately. He is never complacent; never content to do normal or overly posed shots. You can tell he is always looking for the most unique, rich and meaningful angle or scene. He was literally laying on the ground, climbing things, and crouching in uncomfortable positions so he could give us the most impactful shot. And he is just fabulous to be around. Funny, highly personable, encouraging... he makes you feel at ease. He asks in advance what you're looking for so he can be intentional to meet your needs and expectations. The timeliness and quality of the work was astounding... only a couple days after our shoot I received a disc in the mail, wrapped in burlap, tied with a ribbon and spring of rosemary! I was - am - bowled over. That level of thoughtfulness, quality, speed and consideration is unheard of these days. Ryan is the Nordstrom of photography and I truly cannot recommend him enough. You have my personal guarantee you will not regret hiring him as the person to capture the most special moments of your life. read more

Ryan is AMAZING! From the very first moment I contacted him till now. Prior to finding Ryan on yelp, I found out that the photographer we had originally booked had terrible reviews and was somewhat worried that I would not find someone in time for the wedding. Thank God he had our day FREE! Ryan is friendly, young, full of energy and made me feel very comfortable. When I first met him, I was sold because of his personality. He is FUN! He was quick in positioning everyone for photos and I couldn't be happier with the images - all so BEAUTIFUL! He truly captured our wedding day and that makes me extremely satisfied and glad that I found him - after all is done and over with, it feels like a blur the next morning. The images are so beautiful and natural - and at the same time exciting and different! So Brides, if you are looking for a fun photographer - STOP looking! JUST BOOK! I guarantee you will not regret it. ABSOLUTELY stunning images! Thank you so much Ryan, Steffanie & Christopher read more

I have been following Ryan's work for awhile now. I love his style and his unique eye. He just gets better and better. The time came when I needed professional photos of myself to promote the book I'm publishing in September. I realize he mostly does weddings/engagements but I also know he's open to things. He shot the pictures quickly and efficiently. I received the finished product in a timely fashion. I love them! Ryan is talented and he seriously is the bomb. Ryan is extremely laid-back and very cool to work with. I highly recommend Ryan for all your photo needs not just weddings or engagements. read more

If you're seeing a pattern here with Ryan's Yelp reviews -- all 5 stars! -- there's a reason. Let me say this so that there can be absolutely no misunderstanding: RYAN IS THE BOMB!!!!!! Ryan shot my wedding in Palm Springs in May 2015. The pictures are, quite simply, amazing. My wife and I feel sorry for other couples when we see their wedding pictures and literally think, "How sad for them that they didn't have Ryan." If you have any qualms about Ryan, you shouldn't. Retain him immediately. You should seriously consider yourself lucky if you have an opportunity to hire Ryan to shoot your wedding or whatever special moment. I know my wife and I do. We are very, very lucky to have found Ryan. I hope for your sake that Ryan isn't already booked when you need him. He's that good. Beyond being an incredible photographer, Ryan is also a super cool dude, a complete professional, and an artist. Ryan, thank you times a million. read more

woah, like WOAH! Ryan was amazing! Given that we are from Texas and Temecula was our destination wedding, each time we came into town we not only got to touch base with Ryan and discuss wedding details but he even offered his help when finding accommodations, food venues and anything else of the like. It's hard to even mention Ryan's photography because it is so amazing it's more like a Roman Myth. Ryan made everything about our day painless as he blended into the crowd, had some fun and captured our day more amazingly than we could have possibly imagine. Stop looking for a photographer. Hire Ryan! Do not hesitate! I live in Europe, so finding a wedding photographer for our California wedding wasn't easy and a little nerve-wracking, but I honestly had nothing to worry about! After emailing back and forth to get all the details and communicate what we were looking for, we hired him and a second shooter (totally worth it) for six hours, including one hour of getting ready shots. From the moment he walked into our room, I felt at ease. He got straight to work photographing the dress, while keeping a keen eye on any special moments that might be going on while I got ready with my mom and sisters. Meanwhile in the groom's room, his second shooter was hanging with the guys getting some very natural and fun shots with really cool lighting. Ryan seems very passionate about what he is doing, and he's very good with lighting. We had some tough lighting with an early afternoon wedding and lots of shadows in the overhead sun. These didn't stop him from getting some gorgeous photos. I am still getting comments from guests two months later on how beautiful our photos turned out, and it seems that he captured pretty much everyone at the reception, so it was exciting for everyone to look through them. Personality-wise, as my grandmother described him, "Ryan is such a doll!" Even my camera-shy groom felt comfortable taking our photos, and Ryan had us laughing through the shoot. A few family members and friends asked me if Ryan is a friend I hired, because he fit right in at the party. They were surprised to hear I had only met him that day! He was fun and easygoing while still maintaining a sense of professionalism. I cannot say enough good things. We are so pleased with our photos, and felt like the price was very reasonable compared to other photographers in Temecula and definitely worth it for the quality of the product delivered. read more

One word... AWESOME! I found Ryan through beautiful serendipity. I had contacted another photographer who was unavailable for my wedding date and they recommended Ryan. After reviewing his website and photos, I didn't feel the need to look any further... I knew that I had found the right guy! Ryan is not only an amazing photographer, but is an amazing person too. He is genuine, honest and has a great sense of humor. I'm typically camera shy and knew that it would take a miracle worker to get good photos on my wedding day. When Ryan was there, we didn't feel nervous or intimidated - it felt more like we had a friend - we felt an instant connection with Ryan. I think that he has a wonderful heart that i think radiates into everything that he does. Ryan has something that can't be learned in photography or business schools - kind of like an inner light that shines through in his personality and his work (sorry to get a little hokey). Ryan turned an awkward, nerdy gal into a beautiful lady through his photos. I felt like the star of one of those teen movies where the shy gal gets a makeover and wins the cute guy. The best part is that the cute guy is now my husband, and I have the awe-inspiring, heart-warming, smile-invoking photos to keep with my for the rest of my life!! read more

Ryan actually crashed our wedding with the photographers we'd hired (Your Inner Song Photography... also GREAT) because Jessica from Your Inner Song was pregnant and they wanted to make sure they were able to get all the shots they would get if she wasn't pregnant. We couldn't be happier with their decision to bring Ryan along. He provided a lot of comic relief with his pleasant and outgoing personality. He had outstanding ideas for some shots he wanted to do and had/has incredible composition. Pure God given talent, for sure. Everyone was comfortable with him and he was able to extract emotion from everyone to get the perfect shots. We would recommend Ryan, without hesitation, for any event in which you need or want a photographer. If my husband and I had one word to describe Ryan it would be...AWESOME! We hired Ryan as our wedding & engagement photographer about a year and a half before our wedding. We had searched high and low for photographers in the Temecula area and I was hesitant since we were planning our wedding from out of state and I had no knowledge of the Temecula area at all. My husband, being a typical guy was no help with the wedding but after our engagement shoot on the car ride back he said, "Yep you chose the right photographer". Ryan is HILARIOUS, fun but also professional. He has a way of making everyone feel at ease and relaxed which is so important especially on your wedding day. He had everyone laughing throughout our whole wedding and everyone had many compliments about him! He also got great candid shots which was the #1 thing I was looking for in a photographer. It was hard to find a photographer who didn't have the normal cheesy photos. We wanted to capture the candid and non-posed moments and he did a great job at doing so! He also completed our photos within a month! Amazing! You definitely won't regret choosing Ryan as your photographer! You'll have a great photographer and a comedian in one!
