5 Stars for Ashley and her husband! My sister in law got married in beautiful Temecula this past Saturday and hired Ashley to be her photographer. My sister in law told me that she really liked the photos on Ashley's website and knew she would get some great shots of her wedding. Well on the morning of my sister in law's wedding, Ashley came on time to my sister in law's hotel room (where I was getting my hair and make up ready, along with the other bridesmaid and my sister in law). The room was a little bit crowded with 2 make up artists and the mother of the groom and flower girl, but Ashley made it work and started snapping away to capture each moment. Her husband, Jason, met the groom and his groomsmen down in another part of the hotel area. Then eventually when all the women got done with their make up and hair, Ashley followed us to the church. Ashley and Jason were pretty much with us every step of the way (when we made our way to the bridal suite, for the 1st look photos between the bride and groom, the church for the ceremony, the reception and bridal & groom party photos). Ashley and Jason were very friendly and always smiling every time I saw them. A few things I want to mention that I truly appreciate about them is that they took my request to try to stay out of the sun as much as possible to heart. I am incredibly pale (I am quite pigment challenged let's just say) and burn very easy (and yes even with SPF on). I told both of them that I will have to stay in the shade until it is time to take photos if they are out in the sun. They were really good in taking most of the photos in the shade (and when there were photos in the light, I was put in an area with less sun). The other thing that really impressed me about this husband and wife team is that they were working so diligently during part of the reception while guests were eating (so they were not missing any action that needed to be photographed) editing some of the photos they took for the day. Then later towards the end of the wedding, Ashley had her laptop displayed showing a loop of photos that were taken from the day. The photo of the bridal/ groom party in the shade came out great (and me without having to burn in the sun). I loved looking at all the photos and was surprised that a photographer would do this (as I have never seen a wedding photographer ever doing that). That alone deserves an extra star for their efforts. I also want to mention that they both got along just fine with the other vendors at my sister in law's wedding. They also were really helpful in carrying things for the bride and bridal party (they just volunteered to help hold bouquets, wedding veil and dress, etc). If I was ever to get married in Temecula (I already am married and never plan to do that again because planning my wedding was just so stressful), I would not hesitate to hire Ashley and her husband to capture my special day. read more

100 stars! We love Ashley and Jay! My husband (ah it's still weird to say that!) is a photographer so his one major wedding duty was to find a kick butt photographer that was in our budget. I'm so glad he found Ashley! She is a sweetheart and so wonderful to work with. Ashley was super accommodating, even with a last minute change where we moved up the ceremony 30 minutes because we didn't want to do a first look and that way we could have time for couple and family photos afterwards. After the ceremony she gave my husband and I a few minutes alone to just absorb everything which was so cool and much needed. To take a breath and take it all in before the ceremony. Thankfully Ashley was just within out budget! I know that wedding photos are expensive, but they are worth it. A lot of work goes into creating great photos. With that said, I have three wedding photo tips (no matter which photographer you choose): 1.) Really take time to think through which photos you want and tap someone else (planner, mom, aunt, maid of honor, etc.) to make sure that you get them. This is a once-in-a-lifetime day and you won't be able to go back in time to get a photo that you missed. I wanted a photo with each of my extended families and we didn't get those because I wasn't persistent about it and was just enjoying the day. (Which is how it should be!) (And maybe was over photos and ready to party haha.) But I wish that I had my wedding planner or mom gather everyone for those photos because I would love to have a photo with my aunts and uncles. 2.) We didn't do a first look and talked extensively about that with Ashley. She gave us the best advice on what that would mean time-wise. (Which is why we moved up our ceremony time.) I'm glad we didn't do the first look and I love our version of it where my husband surprised me outside the room playing guitar on the patio. But if seeing your bride or groom before the alter is ok with you - definitely do the first look. You'll have a lot more time for photos. (Just like Ashley recommended. :) ) 3.) Get a video! The day really does go by in a flash. We were so lucky to have a talented friend able to get some video footage for us last minute. After I saw it I thought, why did I think I didn't need a video?! All in all, photography and videography are possibly the two most important pieces of your day (After the love of your life and the dress of course ;) ) so take your time to find the person who fits your personality and style - and don't skimp. Ashley and Jay are super amazing! We had a wonderful experience working with them. :) Oh and, like a previous reviewer said, Ashley and Jay went above and beyond and did share photos one their computer at the end of the ceremony which guests loved being able to see. I originally booked a different photographer for my wedding on August 9th but he had to cancel due to a heartbreaking medical diagnosis a few months prior to our wedding date. He referred me to Ashley and I fell in love with her work at first glance. Warm, rich color, with vintage-y, beautiful lighting. Gorgeous. But it was her welcoming demeanor and true interest in MY wedding calmed my jittery wedding nerves immediately. I was sold! Our first face-to-face interaction with Ashley was at our engagement photo session (which we rescheduled at least 5 times because of my crazy schedule). She was so accommodating and made my shy husband feel comfortable during the shoot (I am anything BUT shy!) Our wedding day was perfect but like everyone says-- flew by so fast. I am so grateful that we have such beautiful photos to help us remember our special day. A few weeks prior to the wedding, Ashley had us fill out a pre-wedding questionnaire that allowed us to be specific as to which photos were "must-haves" and which photos they could skip out on. We chose a more candid approach, and I'm glad we did! It was so fun going through all of the photos! Ashley and her husband must have snapped thousands of photos during our wedding because they literally got every shot that we wanted-- and from multiple angles, too! The shots that were important to me were all of the detail shots (the dress, the flowers, the shoes!) Since Ashley and Jay are a husband and wife team, I found myself going to them for advice during the wedding. "Is it okay for us to eat now, or should we walk around and say our thank you's?!" Their advice and (I think I already mentioned it but it's worth mentioning again--) calm demeanor really made us feel comfortable and allowed us to enjoy our wedding day that much more. About a month after the wedding, Ashley posted our photos on an online photo album for viewing. The website was very user-friendly and fun to share with our family and friends. It allows you to download individual photos or the entire album, share on social networking pages, and order prints! We had the pleasure of having Ashley and her husband Jay photograph our engagement photos and wedding day, and I couldn't be happier! I found Ashley because she also photographed a friend's wedding and I was so amazed with her photos that I had to hire her. We instantly clicked at our first meeting in their studio in Temecula. The only thing would be that she can be quite pricey if you're on a budget, but the photos that you get are really of value, especially with other comparable photographers. I don't even have the words to describe just the few pictures I saw already of my daughter's wedding. First, Ashley spent a lot of time with the Bride and the MOB (me) on what we wanted. Where can I start. I imagined that my wedding pictures would be the highlight of my day, after a year of planning and so much work was put into my wedding. I cry almost daily, when I think of how BAD my pictures came out. To start the engagement photo session was a disaster. She was late, and after we got the pictures, they were horrible!! I expressed my concerns about her techniques and she offered to do another session. We were not thrilled about having to do this, and my husband had no desire. My husband tried to convince me multiple times to cancel her but my father had already paid her half of the full amount, which was nearly $3800!!!( oh and no wedding album) We were stuck.My husband finally said to me, well, she can't mess up wedding photos can she? That's her living?... Well little did he know. They now sit in a file in my computer. I wish I knew before my wedding that she was unable to take decent pictures at night time! She never came to meet us at the walk through, so she had no idea where to take pictures, and it showed in the photos later on. I'm paying $4000( and 2 steak meals) and you can't come to a walk through?? Very unprofessional. The day of the wedding she showed up late to my getting ready, took pictures of half eaten food, then took my dress and flowers outside to find places to take picture while we all got ready- still photos were ok, except she use the DEPTH Of FIELD in every picture!!! Meanwhile, she missed good pictures of my mother, my girls and myself getting ready. Who doesn't take a picture of the mom and the daughter getting ready?????? OH... And not one picture of me alone with a beautiful background in my dress!!! Not one!!! Who doesn't know the basics???? I later find out her husband( who take pretty decent pictures) took great pictures of my husband and his men. Thank god for something, but who's business is this??? He actually brought them downstairs in a secret location to take some interesting pic. Ashely.... Oh no. She only brought us to my wedding area, so every guest saw me before the wedding, and people were stopping us so much that we finally had to go back up stairs. She has NO BACKBONE to tell people to get out of the shot!!! There weren't any interesting cute pics of my girls except the typical walk toward me in the grass....(over and over) of course none of these worked out, we are all in HEELS and I have a train!!!!! And with my parents, no variety. Same back ground for every picture. She was concerned we were 'losing the sunlight' I finally told her how unhappy I was, that she wasn't taking any pictures of me so she grabbed a chair and sat me in it and tried to take pictures... I was like this isn't working... Her response.....we can do those pictures another day??? huh??? This is my ONLY wedding day??? I'm not going to rent another tux, get my makeup and hair done again so you can take a picture of me!!!! You are crazy!!! You are supposed to be a professional.... Take pictures!! I finally told her to st During the wedding...again what over use of depth of field( where you focus on something and everything else is blurry) And most pictures had some awful background distraction( ex, my father and I walking down the isle with my DJ right in the pic!!! Pick a different angle!!! No exchanging of rings pics. None of my father and randy shaking hands and sending me off. Then after the wedding, NO pictures of.... My husband and I sitting at our sweetheart table, my father and I dancing our dance, cake tasting... Nope. None of these facing the camera. She was behind us???what??? The pictures of my husband and I- oh his tux jacket was showing his white shirt and SHe NeVeR SAiD ANyTHing!!! Why would you look at the bride and groom and try to fit his jacket, or her hair, or something!!!! My husband is no unhappy about it, so strange to him that someone that gets paid this much doesn't have an EYE for this type of problem!!! At night time.... Its as if she got a new lens and didn't know how to use it at night. Only 3 couples pictures where taken all day. I had 70 guest.The reception room had a low ceiling and she didn't alter her angle to take a picture without the drop ceiling in ever picture. I purposely wanted to have a intimate setting in my reception room with nothing but candles, she made the venue leave the lights on when we entered to get better pictures!!! What??? I dance to my first dance with my husband with all the lights on! Very romantic.. To end, I had to call her 3 weeks after my wedding to find out white my pictures were....oh I'm still working on them... I sent her the most tearful letter when I received them. She said she felt awful, but it was too late. My wedding day pics were horrible! I told her I wanted some money back and I never heard from her again.... Go figure. Very professional.
