I used Craig as a buyers agent 2 years ago on my first home. I'm sure anyone who works as a Realtor…read more/ Real Estate agent know that first time buyers can be needy and require some hand holding. I never felt any sort of hesitation or irritation when I asked him to take me and look at probably was my hundredth home. I say this especially since my price point was quite low compared to many buyers at the time. I never felt like I wasn't getting his full attention even though he probably stood to make less money on any deal he brokered from me. He is super easy going and I had the feeling that he had the type of personality that made listing agents want to work on deals with him. We had been using someone previously who was very aggressive and I feel some deals fell apart with her because the other parties became irritated. The home we eventually found and ended up buying was a short sale that had just fallen out of escrow and was back on the market. Being primed and ready to go we were able to put in an speedy offer. Whats amazing is that regardless of the fact offers had come in above ours, our bid won out. Totally amazing. I think that really comes down to being a nice likable guy that people know will help make a smooth transaction. He was also upfront and honest. Perhaps a bit conservative, but in the end I felt he was totally knowledgeable about what a home really should cost. Of the houses we looked at, what he predicted as sale prices and what was actual sale prices were pretty much dead on. He was honest with me when he felt an offer was too low. My only complaint was there were a couple of things that I wished we had put in the contract (in terms of pool supplies) to stay with the house. I didn't think of it and it wasn't suggested. There was also an issue with one repair that needed to be done to close escrow. But While I was scrambling to get quotes on the repair (since it was an as-is short sale) Craig found someone to come in and do the work for a very reasonable price and then paid for half of the repair. So that ended on a positive. All and all I was pleased. & I definitely appreciated how patient he was with my husband and I in spite of our sometime frantic house search.

We first met Craig when he was representing a property in Burbank. We couldn't get a loan at the…read moretime but he was so nice and offered to show us properties anyway. He even helped us find a rental in the area, recommending different places even though there was no commission in it for him except the hope that if we ever could afford a home we'd call him someday. Lo and behold, two years later, when we could finally buy, we immediately thought of him! Even though we could only afford the cheapest of properties, Craig patiently guided us through everything in our price range. He really went to bat for us, even as we got discouraged when family after family out bid us at every turn. He was so good at telling us the ins and outs and what to watch out for. Sometimes all we could afford were homes with crazy problems and he always encouraged us to stay the course and know we'd eventually find something better. Finally he found us an amazing home and helped us through the complicated buying process. To say our escrow was the toughest of tough would be a gross understatement. Bank of America threw every curve ball to avoid funding our loan. We were lucky enough to have a loan which only required 5% down, so consequently no one wanted to fund it. Our first loan fell through and we had to start all over, almost losing the property but for Craig's smooth talking to the other bank to believe in us. Craig knew our money was all tied up so paid out of his own pocket for the second assessment Bank of America forced us to get. During our second escrow, after we'd signed off on our contingency, the escrow threatened to fall through again, but Craig was extremely calm and kind. It was the scariest 4 months of our lives, with numerous phone calls, tears, disappointments, but if it wasn't for Craig I believe we wouldn't have the house we do today. I always recommend him to friends and am sorry I didn't write him a stellar review before this. We can't speak more highly or feel more indebted to Craig. BTW, we had to have our roof repaired and the gentleman Craig recommended was so affordable and nice. He even fixed our driveway free of charge. We got champagne treatment on a 7 Up budget and as far as we are concerned Craig can do no wrong.

Dear Sheri, After 2…read morefailed attempts at selling my home, you arrived on the scene like Mary Poppins. You knew the Hancock Park market inside and out. You had a pulse on the buyers, the sellers and any players. Your ability to read people is remarkable. When it came time for upgrades and staging, I left every decisión up to you and your team. You knew which upgrades will make a difference and yes, firmly at times, told me absolutely not. You have absolutely no ego in each sale. You will push for your seller, as if it is your home. Your patience at dealing with impossible people had me shocked and I truly was able to learn from you and the way that you carry yourself in business. Your strong commitment to your ethical and moral compass while coming in strong and firm is an incredible combination. Texting, calling at every single hour of the night, is how you conduct yourself. I think the biggest gift that you give your clients is that you do absolutely love what you do and it is felt. You stuck by me for years, through multiple markets and knew exactly when to hold, and when to drop. As a working single Mother, you truly took the burden and the stress away. You dealt with every hurdle with grace, compassion and incredible strength. I am and always be grateful for what you did for my children and I. The greatest moment was calling you on your vacation and just laughing so hard about the insanity of it all. Thank you to Lucy and the entire team at the Bienstock group. We did end up having a couple phone conversations with Sheri Bienstock regarding a potential offer. She was brusque and unpleasant. And based on what we experienced, we would not call on a house represented by the Bienstock Group, nor would we want them representing us in a sale. In the end, we purchased a home in the neighborhood that was a better fit for us so were grateful we didn't proceed with their listing.

We had been house hunting for the last 3 years, and more seriously the last 6 months. Just…read moreyesterday, our offer was accepted on a home, and we have Mathew to thank for this. We have met a number of agents over the years, and worked more seriously with 2. I can say confidently that Mathew Bahri stands out from the group for a couple of reasons: 1. Honest: We didn't want a "yes" realtor - someone who liked everyone home we asked the person about. We wanted someone who would provide an honest opinion, even if it meant telling you the house you like is not a great choice and the reasons why. Mathew thankfully saved us from going after some homes that clearly would not have met our needs, but were attractive to us at the time for the wrong reasons. You really need that honest opinion from a realtor who can give you an objective viewpoint. 2. Dedicated: I can't tell you how many late night and early morning strategy sessions we had, discussing how to approach going after a home that we wanted. He makes himself available whenever you need him and always responds quickly. He made us feel like we were his only clients, even though we know he has many. 3. Experienced: I didn't realize this when we first met him, but he has over 20 years of experience. He has seen so much, and it really shows. He knows when to push, and when to step back - and in the end, he gets results. 4. Truly puts client's interests first: This is possibly the most important in the list. We saw many situations where he could have pushed us to submit a really high bid which would have made his job much easier in the negotiation process. He really tries hard to work in the best interest of clients - which also means making sure you do not needlessly OVERbid. He is a good person, with a tremendous amount of integrity and character. Having been in the home-searching process over the last few years, we have seen glimpses of the dirty side of this business, but Mathew is a true and honest partner in a crazy and often emotional process. We can not recommend him enough.

Made me to be on a worse rental house just for sake of kicking me out of the house so he can finalize and get his commission faster. Lost a house that I was interested cause he is simply an idiot who didn't see the moving up the market and didn't consider my needs and wants to bid higher on the house and only think about himself and nothing else. When he lost the house ( even the selling agent called him and told him the high bidder got a cold feet) he told me "I get you a better one". And then after few months of searching and seeing the market rise he wanted to put me in small house and his words that I never forget was (you got to have a house). The advertisement that he is doing Mathew Bahri Real Estate since 1994 is total BS.
