Karen has extraordinary instincts as a massage therapist and has expanded her practice to include cupping, Reiki and other specialized healing arts. Since she knows me so well, she understands exactly where she needs to focus and spend time. I'm usually an absolute mess by the time I can finagle my schedule to see her and need serious deep tissue help. My neck and back are a disaster and I always feel so much better when I walk out of there! Karen is REALLY strong....so if you require firm pressure, you'll get it!! I walked in and she greeted me right away and we spent a few minutes going over the forms I filled out online ahead of my appointment. It's easy to see that Liz is very knowledgeable about acupuncture and the human body. She explained what she would do during my appointment and answered all of my questions. Liz - and the relaxing sounds and decor of her office - put me at ease right away. First - acupuncture! She inserted a few needles in my hands, face, and legs, and left me to relax. I thought I would be too alert to fall asleep, but I got used to the feeling of the needles after a moment, and the next thing I knew, Liz was back to remove them. Next - Gua Sha. Liz knew about my tense neck and shoulders and suggested this treatment. I Googled it in advance, so I knew I'd have a lot of red/purple coloring in my neck and back. I am very red, but it's worth it! My neck and shoulders are moving much more freely. I already made my next acupuncture appointment. Liz has a community room where patients can come for acupuncture with a sliding scale payment, which I think is a great idea. I look forward to more acupuncture and massages, too!

Mary did a fantastic job on my back especially my shoulder. The foot treatment was done by Mike who certainly knew how to press the right pressure points to make me scream. For $40 I enjoyed 1 1/2 hours of high-quality services, I couldn't complain about that no tea was served before or after the treatment (since I went there for massage not tea). It was one of the best experiences I have had with foot spa. I know their promotion will be over by the end of May. But their regular price is also very reasonable. I realize many doctors offices give a 2 day notice to remind you of an appointment, but they have never cancelled on me if I didn't call them back. This was a major waste of time. She also does not even use the open method of colon cleansing. She has this creepy looking disgusting transportable unit. There are multiple offices in the buildings she works out of and the people at the front desk gave me a weird "Oh No!!" look when I mentioned her name. They also told me she just rents space from them. It is a very creepy place to go to for a first time. I would not recommend her unless you knew she was going to be in a much more hygienic and professional place with adequate facilities and support staff.

Having recently moved to the area within the year, in my hunt for a forever salon I had had several bad experiences with a stylist who just didn't listen and wanted to use my head as a canvas for their "edgy" (Read: Impractical and plain ugly) cuts and colors. My friend assured me that Rachel excelled at listening and interpreting your hair wishes. She was right on! Rachel took upwards of 10 minutes on our consult - examining the prior color in my hair, its texture and weight, looking at pictures I had brought. She advised me in what was and wasn't practical with my thick, wavy hair. I felt valued and trusted her to give me what I wanted. I am on a tight budget, and I appreciated that she went to real trouble to ensure that my highlights would look natural as they grew out - buying me a few extra weeks. The prices were competitive with other salons in the area, a little over $100 for a cut and highlight. So, actually on the low end pricewise. It was entirely worth every penny. I couldn't be happier. I will be a client there as long as I live in Albany.
